43. A Painful Farewell

“Do you always come here?” Caleb asked as we made our way through the crowd. There were people partying, dancing, getting wasted, others not minding other people’s business and just came here probably to just drink and have a good time.

“Not really. Parties aren’t exactly my thing. You know that. I couldn’t actually keep up with this.” I said. Our voices were neutral as if there wasn’t music blasting all over the club. With our hearing, we could hear each other even if we whispered.

“Right.” He responded dryly.

“You don’t approve?” I asked teasingly. We still haven’t found my friends.

“You know my take on this. Humans are bound to commit a sin in this place.” I laugh at him. He sounded like a prude old man.

“Relax. It’s not why we came here anyway. If Gab and Clove wanted that, it’s their choice.” I shrug. “I just want to have fun with them before we go our separate ways.”

“Sorry, Rin. I didn’t want to ruin your night this early.” His apology was sincere.
