46. His Mate

“How do you feel?” I asked Caleb.

Since he couldn’t set out to work today, we figured we could watch a movie together just to relax. He was healing pretty quickly and nicely. It looked like he rested for three days. Sometimes I tend to forget that it’s a werewolf thing.

I prepared snacks and juice for us and let him choose the movies we’ll watch. It was in the middle of the movie when I asked how he was doing. I couldn’t help but still ask.

Caleb turned his head to me and asked me instead. There were still traces of bruises in his face but other than that, he was fine. “How do you feel?” I was surprised that he returned my question instead.

I looked at him funnily. “Why are you asking me that? You’re the one who was injured.” The last statement darkened my mood.

“Come on, Rin. I can’t help but think that he mindlessly ruined his chances.” I stare at Caleb. I couldn’t read his expression but something tells me that he felt bad for his Alpha. The very same Alpha that had beaten him al
