Chapter 2

Author: Evil SIL
My words shocked everyone.

“Oh my God, does this dude know what he’s saying? Henry has connections to Reid Corporation. This is basically a career-ending move!”

“That’s it for him. The last persons who dared to offend Henry did not have a good ending!”

Those comments only made Henry look even more smug.

Then, a man wearing a “director” tag ran over.

“What’s going on? What are you fighting over? Don’t you know that the show is about to start?” he admonished with an impatient look.

Upon seeing him, Henry immediately put on a sad face and pointed a finger at me. “Mr. Anderson, I’m so happy to see you! This crazy person snuck in and keep saying that this seat belongs to him. He even yelled at me! Can you see how upset I am right now?”

Theo Anderson sized me up. When he saw that I was dressing plainly, his frown deepened and he questioned, “Who are you? Do you have an invitation? Those seats are usually reserved to top celebrities and important sponsors. What are you doing here?”

I stared at him coldly. “This seat was personally reserved by the president of this event.”

“President?” Theo snorted.

“Our president is extremely busy. Why would she personally reserve a seat for you? Who do you think you are? Are you a chief editor or a fashion guru?”

Then, he turned to look at Henry and said pleasantly, “Mr. Lee, don’t be angry. I’ll settle this issue for you immediately. Ms. Reid has specially asked us to take good care of you as our VIP. No one can snatch your seat away from you!” He waved at the security. “Why are you still standing there? Remove this person immediately! Will you take responsibility if the show opening is delayed?”

The two security guards immediately stepped forward with the intent to grab me.

“You dare lay a hand on me?” I challenged with a cool stare.

The security guards immediately paused in their actions, making Theo even more furious.

“Why are you acting like this? You’re just a nobody. How dare you make a scene at my event? Get out!”

Henry added fuel to the fire. “Mr. Anderson, why are you still wasting your time talking to him? Just get rid of him. Ms. Reid will be coming later. We don’t want her to get upset over this.”

The mention of Sammy seemingly humbled Theo. “You’re right, Mr. Lee.” His glare turned fierce. “I’m warning you for the very last time. If you want to keep your dignity intact, leave. Being carried away by our security will not make you look good.”

I looked around me and saw the way everyone stared at me expectantly. I sneered and, this time, tried to contact organizer.

“You don’t believe me? Fine, just let me get her to speak to you personally.”

“Hello? Who is this?” A cool, female voice asked.

I replied nonchalantly, “It’s me, Lily. Hi.”

“Oh, Mr. Thatcher! Hi.” Lily Smith sounded a little surprised. “What’s wrong? Did you arrive at the event? Are you happy with what you see?”

Lily was the founder of the Innovating Design Competition. She was an authoritative figure in the fashion industry, and she used to be one of my students when I was teaching overseas.

I glanced meaningfully at Theo and Henry before continuing, “I’m here, but there seems to be some issues with the seating arrangement.”

“What’s the issue?”

“The director of this event said that my seat was reserved for a sponsor’s VIP. They are presently trying to kick me out.”

Lily remained silent for a while before she roared.

“What is that idiot Theo doing? Put him on the phone right now!”

I put my phone away and stared calmly at her. “Mrs. Reid, it seems like you have forgotten something. Three years ago, you spent a lot of money to get my team to come up with a strategy for one of your brands. You wanted to use my name to uplift your brand. I rejected your offer because I saw how rotten your company is. I then had my team install a few applications on your server to collect evidence of your crimes.”I looked at her as she broke down and easily continued, “I thought that I would never have to use this video in my entire life. However, both you and your daughter forced me to do so.”Jane was shaking violently. She wanted to say something but no sound came out. Before she could come back to her senses, the venue welcomed a new group of people. It was not her security guards, nor was it her public relations team. Instead, it was a team of tax officers dressed in uniforms. The leader walked toward Jane and flashed out his credentials and a warrant. “Mrs. Reid, you’r

The mind of the crowd swayed indeed. Some people started staring at me with hostility. “That’s right, he should forgive them.”“That’s right, they’re young. He should just punish her instead of ruining an entire company. It’s too much.” “Mrs. Reid is already giving in so much. Mr. Thatcher would seem stingy if he continued to press on this issue.”That woman was great at pretending to be philanthropic. She had easily changed the narrative and shaped herself as a victim who was thinking of the greater good. The real victim was such pushed out and set up as a bully. I laughed in front of Jane’s fake expression and the crowd’s persuaded stance. “Mrs. Reid, you’re good at acting.” I applauded her. “It’s a waste that you’re not in that industry instead.” Jane’s expression froze. “You must be teasing. I’m just telling the truth.”“Is that so?” I put on a wider smile. “Since you like acting so much, let me entertain you. Today, I’m going to show everyone a bigger drama!” I took

My words made Sammy finally understand the gravity of her situation, her face had no color left. Just when everyone thought the drama over, someone pushed the grand doors open. Jane had brought both bodyguards and public relations employees to make a fierce entrance. She immediately spotted her daughter who was kneeling on the floor and Henry, who had collapsed aside. Her face was stern. However, she did not lose her dignity like Sammy did. She took a deep breath and straightened her coat. Then, she walked toward me with big strides. She did not look at me, instead, she started yelling at Sammy in front of everyone. “You dumb girl! Why are you still here? You have embarrassed the Reid family!”Under everyone’s shock gazes, she slapped Sammy. The loud slap stunned everyone. Sammy held her cheek and sobbed painfully. However, she did not dare to utter a single word. Everyone was looking at Jane. They wanted to see if she could mitigate this situation. Once she was done discipl

The mocking expression on both Sammy and Henry’s faces froze. “No… Impossible… This is impossible!” Henry screamed. “You clown! What app are you using to create this? He must be bluffing, Ms. Reid!” Sammy was holding on to dear life as she scolded me, “That’s right! Stop bluffing! Do you think you can simply find a stranger to record a short voice note and scare us for good?”At that very moment, her own phone started ringing. She took it out with frantic hands and saw that it was her mother. She answered immediately, as though she had found her lifesaver. “Mom! Quick, come over! There’s this lunatic here…”Before she could finish talking, her mother started yelling at her, and everyone could hear it.“You’re an idiot! Are you trying to harm all of us?” It was Jane Reid, the CEO of Reid Corporation. “Do you know who you are talking to? I’ve just received a personal phone call from Mr. Arnold’s secretary! They’re halting their collaboration with us! Every single one of th

Her arrogance was a good match to Henry’s.I finally understood that I was dealing with two perfect idiots that were made for each other. “Ms. Reid, right?” I sneered. “Your mother, Jane, was not talking to me like this when she begged me to work for her brand, back then.” I hadn’t tried to make things worse, but my words simply enraged Sammy.“Who the hell are you?! How dare you talk about my mother?” I answered coldly, “Not only do I know your mother, but your mother also calls me ‘mister’ when she sees me in person.” Sammy became extremely furious. She raised her hand to initiate a humiliating slap. “You piece of trash! How dare you scold me?!” However, Sammy’s hand was grabbed before it could reach my face.Lily was the one who had stopped her. She had finally made it to the show, and she was looking extremely furious. “Sammy! You’re being unreasonable!” As young as Lily was, she was still a very important figure in the industry. When she showed up, everyone froz

I passed the phone to Theo. Theo took my phone with a suspicious look on his face. But when he heard the voice over the phone, his expression immediately changed. “Ms… Ms. Smith? Why… why are you…”His posture immediately shrank as cold sweat broke on his forehead. “Theo! Do you know who you are offending? That’s our most respectable VIP! How many times do I have to tell you that no one can touch the middle seat in the first row? Are you treating my word like it’s nothing?” Theo’s legs started shaking. “Ms. Smith, I… I didn’t know! I just thought he was…”“What were you thinking? What are your eyes for? Let me tell you, if Mr. Thatcher is dissatisfied, you can kiss your career goodbye! Apologize to him now!” The very next second, Lily promptly hung, leaving Theo to hold my phone while staring at me in fear. The people around us hadn’t even needed to hear the phone conversation to appear shocked. They could easily judge Theo’s expression and make the conclusion that I was
