Camille gasped for breath, her fingers clawing at Pierce's hand as it tightened around her throat. Her vision blurred at the edges, darkness creeping in, but she forced the words out in broken stutters. "I—I don't... know what you're... talking about—"

Pierce's free hand slammed into the wardrobe beside her head with a crack that made her flinch. "Lie again," he hissed, "and the next one lands on your stomach."

Her hands flew instinctively to her belly, shielding it. "Your father is up," she choked out. "You wouldn't dare—"

He chuckled, the sound dripping with something darker than amusement. "Oh, Camille. Did you actually think of my father as your saviour?"

Camille didn't know why she had played the General card—she knew better than anyone that he wouldn't save her.

Wouldn't it be better for you to die at the hands of my son? The General's words resounded in her head. How could she see him as a saviour when it was clear he had no intention of saving her?

  • Apologies, Mr Playboy. I’m Pregnant.   Room for Two

Camille stared at the building Pierce had just parked in front of, and her first thought was... this isn't the General's estate."Uhm, this isn't the estate?" she said, her gaze curious.Pierce unstrapped his seatbelt. "No, it isn't. This is a hotel," he answered, stepping out of the car.Camille followed suit, alighting from the car and staring at the building, confused. She couldn't understand why Pierce would take her to a hotel, and not the estate."Okay... why are we here?" she asked as he handed his car keys to a valet.Pierce turned to her, his gaze sweeping over her face. His eyes lingered on the puffiness around her eyes, before he answered, "Because your face is swollen. You cried so much earlier, Camille. I don't think it's a good idea for Elian to see you in this state."She took out her phone and stared at her reflection in the camera. He wasn't lying, she did look like someone who cried heavily. Her nose was red, her eyelids heavy and tender.Pierce was right, she can't

  • Apologies, Mr Playboy. I’m Pregnant.   The missing detective

Camille Owens stood in the middle of dirt, her eyes glancing around what was supposed to be Mr. Hale's apartment. The windows were tightly shut, and the place smelled of damp wood and rotten flesh. If it wasn't so clear where the rot smell was coming from, she would have thought Mr. Hale was dead. Her hands hung still by her side, but her shoulders were stiff. She didn't move when she felt a hand slip gently around her waist. Pierce had walked up behind her, close enough that his breath brushed her ear."Who did you say this person is again?" he asked, his eyes raking the entire room in disgust. There were cockroaches all over the place, and it was starting to get to him.Camille blinked, her eyes fixed on the floor before she turned slightly to him. "Mr. Hale," she whispered. "He is a detective, and The General hired him to investigate my father's death."It wasn't the name that made Pierce remember, but the title of the man. Camille called him a detective. How could he have forgotte

  • Apologies, Mr Playboy. I’m Pregnant.   In the glow

Camille Owens stood outside Lumina Group, clutching her bag to her side as she let out a soft sigh, wondering why in the world she was back here—in this damn building—to be Pierce's assistant again. She could lie to herself that she was here only because Pierce had asked her, and she had already agreed. But it wasn't just that.Pierce Landon wasn't the only one who wanted to be close to her. She wanted to be close to him too. If the whole family thing was going to work with Elian, then she needed to fix the past and make the present better.Elian was now in school, so she didn't have to worry about him. The General enrolled him in a private school, and security was nothing to worry about. She was okay with the plan because she knew Elian wished to have friends more than anything. She sighed, pulling herself out of her reverie. It was time for her to be a secretary once more, and even though this was a job she kind of enjoyed, her time working as a prison doctor would always be kept ti

The table between them was small, barely enough space for the plates and wine glasses, yet it still felt like there was too much distance. Camille's fork moved slowly, pushing food around more than she was actually eating.Every now and then, her eyes would lift, just for a moment, catching Pierce's gaze before darting away again. There was something about him sitting across from her, in a tailored suit, his ember eyes glinting in the soft glow from the burner above them.He looked beautiful.Afraid to be caught staring, she only dared to look at him for five seconds before looking away again. She told herself she was being subtle. She wasn't."If you want to look," Pierce said suddenly, his voice deep, "then look without restraint."Her fork froze paused halfway to her lips. "I wasn't—""Yes, you were," he said, the corner of his mouth curling slightly. "You've been doing it since we sat down. I'm not complaining... but if you want to look, then look."Her fingers tightened slightly

  • Apologies, Mr Playboy. I’m Pregnant.   His Apology

Pierce lay sprawled on Alex's couch, one arm hanging over the edge, the other tucked under his head. His boots were still on, leaving faint smudges on the light fabric, but he didn't care. His eyes were fixed on the ceiling, but he wasn't seeing it. His mind was stuck, circling the same moment over and over again. The look on Camille's face when he had grabbed her. That look. Not anger, but fear. She was afraid of him...It was as if she couldn't recognize him...There was disbelief in her eyes, and it haunted him.He shut his eyes and exhaled, long and heavy, as if the breath could carry the memory out of his head. But it didn't. It stayed. He had told himself—sworn to himself—that he would never lose control with her. That he'd be different this time. And yet... he fucked up again."Are you going to talk," Alex's voice broke into his thoughts, "or are you just planning on laying there like a dead man?"Pierce didn't look at him. "What makes you think I have anything to say?""Becau
