Arianna’s POV

I stood my ground, unyielding, as Elaine’s words hung in the air like a toxic fog. The cool breeze from the garden felt like an icy slap against my skin. I blinked, determined to grasp the reality of what she had just said, but my thoughts kept returning to Kael. His kiss—his touch—was etched in my memory. How could he kiss me if he was entangled with someone else? How could he betray me like this?

Elaine faced me with eyes gleaming, a mix of malice and triumph dancing within them, like a predator that had just cornered its prey. I took a deep breath, my composure slipping, but I refused to let her see the storm of emotions brewing inside me.

"You're carrying his child?" I asked firmly, the weight of the question heavy yet resolute.

Elaine nodded, the smugness on her face unwavering. "Yes," she declared, her voice filled with unwarranted pride. "You must be so naïve, Arianna. He has always belonged to me, and nothing will change that. Not even you."

I clenched my fists,

Kael povKael’s strugleKael sat at the head of the table, the heavy weight of his title pressing on him like a physical force. The pack’s council room felt suffocating, the air thick with tension. The murmurs of discontent swirled around the room like a storm, and Kael could feel every set of eyes on him.“Alpha Kael, your leadership is being questioned,” came the voice of Elder Corwin, a sharp, cold presence within the pack. His eyes glinted with something dangerous as he stood at the edge of the table, arms folded across his chest. “You’ve allowed rogues to breach our borders and threaten our people. And yet, you act as though nothing is wrong. You’ve been absent. Distant. And this pack is suffering for it.”The words stung, though Kael kept his face impassive. He had heard these complaints before, but hearing them now, after everything that had happened with Arianna, was harder to swallow than ever.“I’ve been dealing with matters that concern the future of this pack,” Kael replie

Arianna pov The air was heavy, thick with the scent of rain that hadn’t yet fallen. But it wasn’t the weather that weighed on me. It was the burning ache in my chest. My gaze remained fixed on the distant sky, though I wasn't really looking at the clouds. I could feel the weight of them, dark and suffocating, swirling in my mind. Memories—betrayals, lies, and broken promises—rushed at me like a flood. Each moment carved into my heart like a sharp, cruel knife, and tears slipped down my cheeks unnoticed. Alpha Kael’s touch still lingered in my senses. His hands around my waist, pulling me closer to him. His kisses—gentle, soft at first, then more urgent, as if he couldn’t get enough. His breath on my skin. And then... Elaine. I couldn’t help but shudder at the thought. I took a deep breath and wiped my eyes, trying to regain some composure, but it didn’t help. I couldn’t stop the pounding ache in my chest. I was losing him, I knew it, but how could I ever truly let go? Suddenly, the

Elaine povI stood up from the couch, my eyes fixed on the mirror in my hand. The reflection staring back at me was twisted in anger, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at the thought of Arianna's pitiful state. I turned the mirror over in my hand, feeling the cool glass against my skin, and then I set it down on the table. With a swift motion, I smoothed out my dress, making sure I looked perfect. I had to make sure I was flawless, especially when I was about to stir up more trouble. I walked out of the room, my heels clicking against the floor, and made my way to Arianna's room.As I approached her door, I could hear the sound of muffled sobs coming from inside. I smiled to myself, feeling a sense of excitement at the prospect of causing more chaos. I pushed open the door and stepped inside, my eyes scanning the room until they landed on Arianna. She was lying on the bed, her ankle propped up on a pillow, and her face was red and puffy from crying. Elaine POVThe air in the room was thick with tension, a weight that I couldn’t ignore. Kael stood beside the large, mahogany desk, his fingers lightly tapping against the smooth surface, his eyes focused—not on the matter at hand, but on the woman who had entered to bring him a report.I could feel the heat rise in my chest, slowly suffocating me. The woman was tall, her brown hair cascading down her shoulder, soft waves that seemed to glimmer under the dim light of the room. She had this aura about her, graceful and composed, everything I wasn't. And Kael? He was staring at her like she was the only thing in the world. His eyes, dark and brooding, lingered on her every movement, drinking in every word that left her lips.Disrespect. It burned through me like wildfire.I could hear her voice, light and professional, explaining something about the pack dynamics—something that should have been irrelevant to me at the moment. KaelI stood there, my breath heavy with the weight of her words. "You’re a monster." The accusation echoed in my mind, cutting through my anger and forcing me to confront my own inner turmoil. My hand still tingles from where I had struck her—an uncharacteristic act that shocked us both. Hurting her was never my intention, but in that moment, something inside me snapped. I’ve always struggled to manage my emotions, especially the ones that overwhelm me. And the way Elaine looked at me—like I had let her down—was almost too much to bear.I had never seen her so furious and hurt. Her eyes, wide with disbelief and sorrow, pierced through me. I felt a deep sense of remorse. How had we gotten to this point?I thought to myself that I was worse than a monster; guilt coiled tightly in my chest. Despite my desire to apologize and make amends, the words felt stuck in my throat. Pride and shame held me back. When she turned her back and walked away, I felt foolish, as if I were frozen in plac

Arianna povI remembered clearly that I had nothing to do with Sebastian for now since he was acting like a threat to me. I took a deep breath, preparing to take a walk into the woods—it's been too long. I grabbed my orange hair band, a stylish gift from Darius, and held it firmly in my fist. I miss you so much, Darius, I whispered to myself, a smile breaking through my somber thoughts.“Arianna?” I heard my name called from the corridor. The voice was familiar, but I hesitated to respond. It was Alpha Kael. I frowned as I stood my ground, knowing I had to face him. The door swung open, and he leaned against the frame, his nostrils flaring as he assessed me.“Where the hell are you going?” he asked, crossing his arms. I momentarily struggled to speak, feeling the weight of my position in the pack house. I steadied myself.“I’m sorry, Alpha Kael. I’m not allowed to go anywhere, so I’m merely admiring my reflection,” I replied, maintaining eye contact. He chuckled softly, his expression

  • Arianna's Fate   Chapter thirteen

Arianna povI could feel her eyes on me, burning with disdain, and I quickly averted my gaze, wishing I could disappear into the bed beneath me. She was beautiful, in a way that only someone who had been groomed for power could be. She was everything I was not—confident, poised, and, from what I could tell, ready to destroy anyone who stood in her way.Alpha Kael didn’t immediately move, and neither did I. The air between us grew thick with tension."I was just helping her," Kael said, his voice calm, but there was something colder in it now. His grip on my leg tightened, and his gaze met Elaine’s without hesitation. "Is there a problem with that?"Elaine’s eyes flashed with fury, and for a moment, I feared she might lash out. But instead, she took a step forward, crossing her arms over her chest, her eyes never leaving me."You’ve been spending quite a bit of time with her lately, haven’t you?" she said, her tone dripping with venom.I flinched at the words, knowing exactly what she

Narrator's povKael stood rigidly, his fists clenched at his sides, fury burning through him like wildfire. His father's gaze remained locked on the note, disinterested in the conversation Kael was trying to have. The audacity of it—the indifference, the disregard for his emotions—pushed Kael to the edge."Father," he growled, his voice low and controlled but brimming with intensity. "Can you hear me?"His father didn’t flinch. He didn’t even look up from the parchment. Instead, his fingers slowly and deliberately traced the edges of the note as if he were reading something more important than the conversation unfolding.Kael's eyes narrowed, and he stepped forward, refusing to let his father's cold silence swallow him. "Father!" he barked this time, his tone sharp, like a whip cracking through the air. "I'm not here for your damned business or to discuss your deals. I’m here because you need to understand—I can’t keep Elaine around. She’s ruining everything for me."At last, his fath

I stormed out of the castle, the cool night air hitting me like a slap in the face. The darkness seemed to match my mood, and I felt a sense of liberation as I walked away from the oppressive walls. I didn't know where I was going, but I needed to get away from the castle, from Kael, and from the suffocating expectations. As I walked through the quiet streets, I felt a sense of clarity wash over me. I realized that I had been living in a state of denial, pretending that everything was fine when it wasn't. Kael's infidelity was just a symptom of a larger problem - our relationship was a sham, a duty-bound obligation rather than a love match.I thought about my conversation with my father, and the sacrifice that was to come. Was I truly doing it for the kingdom's sake, or was it a desperate attempt to hurt Kael and Arianna? The more I thought about it, the more I realized that my motivations were mixed. But one thing was certain - I would see this through, no matter the cost.As I turne

The king's piercing gaze met mine, and I steeled myself for the conversation ahead."Your Majesty," I began, my voice steady. "I've come to tell you that I'm willing to proceed with the ritual. Let's begin the preparations."The king's expression turned calculating, and he nodded thoughtfully. "Very well, Arianna. I'll summon the elder and the necessary materials. But are you certain you're prepared for what's to come?"I nodded resolutely, pushing aside the doubts that threatened to creep in. "I'm ready, Your Majesty. For Alpha Kael's sake, and for mine."The king's gaze lingered on me, and for a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of curiosity. "Very well, Arianna. We'll begin the preparations immediately. The ritual will take place at sundown."I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over

Kael pov As I leaned against the wall, a weight pressed down on my shoulder, and I swallowed hard against the pain. It felt like a thousand needles were piercing my skin, and something was crawling under my flesh. My heart ached as I tried to rise from the couch, but my legs buckled beneath me. I fell hard onto the floor, the impact jolting through my body. Powers long dormant began to stir within me, like a beast awakening from a deep slumber. I could feel it coursing through my veins, burning like wildfire. My alpha instincts were rising to the surface, and I was powerless to stop it. The room around me began to blur, and I felt like I was being consumed by a force beyond my control. The pain was intense, like my body was being torn apart and put back together again. I gritted my teeth, trying to ride out the wave of agony, but it only seemed to intensify. Sweat dripped from my brow, and my vision began to tunnel. I was losing myself to the power, and I knew I had to fight back.

  • Arianna's Fate   Chapter fifty six

Elaine’s POV I clenched my fist so hard I felt the sting of my nails biting into my palm. The room was cold—silent—but inside, I was burning. They were doing this in the open now. Flaunting it. Kael, the Alpha—the one I was meant to stand beside—choosing a rogue-blooded stray over me? Over everything we’d built? The alliance. The power. The future. And her—that girl, walking around with his scent, wrapped around her like a trophy, like she belonged here? She didn’t. Arianna didn’t understand what it meant to be part of this pack, this legacy. She wasn’t raised for it. She wasn’t trained. She was chaos wrapped in temptation, with eyes that made even the strongest men forget their purpose. But not me. I didn’t forget. I remembered everything. The years spent preparing. The sacrifices. The smile Kael used to wear when we were younger—carefree, before duty sharpened him into steel. Before she came along and made him soft. And now? Now, the council was slipping through

  • Arianna's Fate   chapter fifty five

Kael’s POV The rain was still whispering against the windows when I stepped back into my quarters, the scent of her still hanging in the air—wild rain, warm skin, and something else. Something of mine. She was sitting by the fire, wrapped in a blanket, legs tucked beneath her. Her head turned at the sound of the door, and for a moment, the world just... stopped. Arianna. Goddess, I didn’t know how she did it. How she made me feel like the ground beneath my feet was shaking and solid all at once. One look from her could settle my wolf or drive him into a frenzy. The patrol had been dealt with—quick and clean. A couple of rogues testing the borders, nothing serious. But the entire time I’d been out there, all I could think about was her. The fire in her eyes. The vulnerability in her voice. The way she had looked at me before I left, as if handing me a piece of her and daring me not to drop it. I hadn’t. I wouldn’t. “Did you win?” she asked, eyes glinting with tired amusement.

  • Arianna's Fate   Chapter fifty four

Arianna’s POVThe sky wore a veil of thick gray clouds, the kind that whispered secrets of a coming storm. The air buzzed with anticipation, a low hum only a wolf could hear. I could feel it in my bones—the first rain in months. The land had dried to a brittle crisp, and the trees stood still like they too were holding their breath. With one look up, I peeled the shirt from my skin, casting it aside with little ceremony. My skin tingled with every gust of wind, every shiver racing across my spine. My heart drummed with something more than excitement. It was freedom. Finally.I stepped outside barefoot, letting the cool earth kiss my soles. The first drop landed on my collarbone, slow and sweet, then another, and another until the heavens cracked open. Rain. Real, cold, blessed rain.I laughed—loud and shameless—as I tilted my head back and let it pour over me. It was cleansing, wild, like the Goddess herself was pouring life down onto us again. My skin was slick, my hair curling and c

Kael’s POVThe shrill clang of the pack bell shattered the night like glass under boot.Kael jerked upright in bed, heart thrumming so hard it echoed in his ears. For a heartbeat, he thought it was a dream—his room still cloaked in darkness, the silence before broken sleep hanging thick in the air. But then the bell tolled again, three sharp strikes that vibrated through bone and soul. Not a drill. It's not a training exercise. Not in the last six years. The bell was only rung when the pack was under siege. When something real came crawling through the shadows with blood on its teeth.“Shit.”Kael threw off the covers, bare feet hitting the cold floor as instinct took over. He didn’t even think to reach for a shirt, grabbing only the shorts he wore to sleep. His chest was bare, marred with faded scars, and the fresh lines of muscle earned through years of training—yet in that moment. He felt more naked than he ever had before.Half running, half leaping down the stone hallway, Kael’s

Arianna’s POV Water. Ice cold. A shockwave slicing through my dreamless sleep. It splashed across my face like a slap from the gods themselves, soaking into my matted hair and the threadbare fabric of the slave pallet beneath me. I gasped, sputtering as I jolted awake, heart racing, fists already clenched. My body stiffened, every muscle on edge. For one blinding second, I thought we were under attack—another punishment, another training gone wrong. My survival instincts screamed fight. But when my vision cleared and the haze of sleep faded… There she was. Elaine. Standing above me with the smugness of a she-devil dressed in silk. The silver pitcher still dangled from her perfectly manicured hand, droplets sliding down its side like the poison she spit from her mouth every time she spoke. “What the hell, Elaine?” I snapped, wiping my soaked face, shivering in the cold morning air that clawed at my bones like a ghost. “Oh, I’m sorry,” she said with a syrupy smile that di
