Chapter 6

The next morning, I got ready to go to the gym. I didn’t need to go out of the building because there was a small gym downstairs, on the first floor. I was wearing leggings and a sports bra underneath my jacket. I also tied my hair in a ponytail and brought my tumbler.

As soon as I locked my door, the guy in the last room came out. My brow raised when I saw his look. He was always handsome but now, he looked so neat and presentable. I also noticed the uniform he was wearing inside his jacket. He has a black backpack on his back. When he looked at me, I rolled my eyes and went to the elevator first. I crossed my arms on my chest as I waited for him to enter and pressed the button for us since we were both going to the first floor.

He glanced at me after he entered and pressed the button. He was wearing an earphone and both of his hands were inside the pockets of his jacket. So, he was working at the Pyeha Hotel. The uniform he was wearing was the uniform of the hoteliers of the Pyeha Hotel. Should I ask Tyler for his name?

We arrived at the first floor without saying anything, but why do I care? We are not close. He was just some irritating random guy. I turned left to go to the gym while he went to the opposite side, where the door was.

It was quite small but there was a lot of equipment there. I nodded after I roamed my eyes around the whole gym before I went to the locker to put my bag there. There were only four people inside the gym including me. I guess they were my neighbors on the second floor. After two hours of exercising, I decided to leave because Kieffer texted me that Tyler wanted to take us somewhere. And that was so odd because Tyler rarely asked us to go out or hang out with them. It was usually us who always invited him because that guy doesn't have a social life. It was either he was working or staying at his house. I thought my life was that bad because I was sent to a faraway place and homeschooled but his life was much worse than mine. At least I still could hang out outside when I was in America but for a limited time while Tyler completely shut himself off from the world because of what happened to him, to his family.

I put one pair of clothes inside my bag because my brother said that we will go swimming somewhere. Already wear my white bikini inside my cute yellow sun dress. When Kieffer texted me that they were already downstairs, I immediately got my bag and left my apartment.

I waved when I saw them both leaning on the car while waiting patiently on me. Kieffer got my bag while Tyler smiled at me a little as his greeting. I went to him and gave him a hug. Tyler sometimes came with Kieffer when he was visiting me in America. Even though I grew up there, I knew Tyler as my brother’s best friend and he was also like a brother to me.

“Which beach are we going to? Kieffer said that we are going to swim.” I said after I sat at the back and put my seatbelt on. My brother only shrugged at me as he looked at Tyler with that meaningful smile. My eyebrows furrowed. What was that?

“We are not going to the beach. We will go to… a province.” Tyler said as he started driving. I became more confused. Province?

“Don’t worry, your dress will still fit there, Kathy,” Kieffer said to me with a smirk on his face. I only shook my head as I leaned comfortably on my seat and looked outside the window.

After a few hours, I started to see trees and beautiful wide plantations, huts, and animals. I opened the window so I could feel the fresh air. This is the first time I went to a province as beautiful as this. Then, Tyler stopped the car near the forest. There was a path towards the forest and there was a sign there that said, “Welcome to Paisible Falls!”

Tyler walked towards the forest while I looked at Kieffer but he just signaled me to follow Tyler as he held my hand to guide me as we walked inside the forest. As we walked farther, we saw stone stairs and I think that would lead us to the falls because we could now hear the sounds of water.

We continued to walk up the stairs until we finally saw the breathtaking falls with crystal water. And I also noticed that there was a girl there, in the middle of the falls, floating and looking like she was lost in her thoughts because she noticed us late. When I glanced at Tyler, he was looking seriously at the girl and now I know the reason why we went there.

“Is that his girl?” I whispered to my brother but he patted my shoulder before he guided me to one of the cottages there. Tyler was busy on his phone when the girl finally came out of the water and got her shorts on one of the large rocks near the falls.

When the girl went into the next cottage from us, a smile appeared on my lips when I saw how gorgeous she was and also, and she looked lost but innocent at the same time. I tilted my head when a lot of thoughts came into my mind, the reason why Tyler went all the way here for her and what was their relationship with each other. And to my surprise, she knew Tyler and my brother when I approached her. Her name was Lanie and she was also a hotelier in the Pyeha Hotel. Then, did she know that guy?

Pyeha Hotel has a lot of hoteliers but they have a shift. One for the morning shift and one for the night shift. Should I ask her? And why am I so curious about who that annoying man was? I don’t know his name. Maybe that was the reason why I have this feeling that there was something mysterious about him and that's what raised my curiosity more. And I hate the fact that that guy was pestering my mind when I only met him at the mall and now he was my neighbor.

What should I do to get to know him? I should get to know him, right? Because we are… neighbors.
