Chapter 8: Dessert shop

"Why are you here again?" Shiyang's annoying face popped out of the door. "You are so free. And why do you have to ring the bell? Don't you have your key?"

"Because I know you're here."

'You just want to annoy me.' Shiyang thought.

"What with the long face? Can't I come? It's my place too." I shoved him out of my way and walked in.

"No, I just think it weird." Shiyang said after closing the door.

"What weird? Can't I come to meet you?" I asked, still don't understand why he said that.

"It just that when you set your mind something you will definitely do anything to get it." He said as he sit across me.

"I mean your soon-to-be fiance." He emphasized when he saw her question face.

"Or perhaps, did you change your mind?" He moved his face close to me.

I pushed his face away. "No. And who said I didn't do anything. I'm just waiting."

"Waiting? You didn't think that he gonna come and find you right? I didn't think he is interested in you though."

'You don't need to rub salt on the opened wound.'

"If you don't say, no one gonna calls you mute at all." I showed my fang.

"I'm waiting for the process to be done. I'm going to enroll in the same college as him." I said as I browe my phone.

"What!?" He stood up abruptly, scaring me.

I almost throw my phone away.

"You don't need to be that surprised."

"Are you sure?"

'How can I not be surprised when you hate school... more like she hates people in school so much.' Shiyang thought.

"Yes. I think it gonna be fun somehow." When she thought of the new friend she made, she wanted to give herself a chance.

She thought maybe...maybe somehow it will be different this time.

She knew that everyone had been worried about her on this matter.

Even her mom has been asking her again and again when she said she wants to attend college.

In the end because of my persistence that she agreed to my wish.

I think apart from worrying she was also feeling happy about my decision.

'Fun? What happened that day to make her change her perspective? Is it because of him? Is it as what aunty said?' Shiyang's feeling doubtful.

"It's good then. Is there any issue I can help you with?" In the end, he didn't say anything more.

"There is some. But it's nothing to worry about. My mom can handle it."

Since that year, she stopped attending school and been home-schooling instead. Although she didn't go to school like everyone else, her study result was not something to worry about. It will be impossible to attend college because she's been homeschooling and what more she's 23 years old, the age at which you nearly can graduate from college. Fortunately, her mom had a good acquaintance with the board of directors there. And since it was an international school, it didn't pose any bigger problem. She just have to take the exam so the school will decide the final decision but it was not something Aylin needed to worry about. She believes she won't have any issues because she been receiving the best tutor that her mom hired for her and the most important is she is smart.

"Now, stop talking about this matter. Let's go to that dessert shop we usually go to before. I heard it got a new menu for this season."

"I've been craving that shop's dessert since I went abroad. Hurry up and change your clothes." I pushed him to his bedroom.

"Ok ok. Wait here. I'm gonna take only thirty minutes."

"No, that can't do. I'm so hungry right now. You can just change your clothes that will be fine."

"But I'm not fine. Look at how worse I am right now. I stayed up late these past few days playing games with you. Look at my dark under-eye circles. Everyone will think I'm a panda for sure."

"Hehe. You can take your time. I can wait."

Li Yihan's pov

'Why should I tag along here anyway?'

Twenty minutes ago, Water lily suggested we come for dessert after school and here we are walking to that place because she said we should exercise more. In this part, I'm not even sure what's going in her head.

I'm sure even if we're not a gym addict, we exercise regularly. And compare to her tiny body I think she is the one who should exercise more than any of us here.

Fortunately, it was close to our school.

"Should we go back?" Kinan suggested. of course, it got quickly turn down.

"No, you can't. You promised already. Today they're going to release their new menu. I have been waiting for this day to come. A man needs to keep his promise."

"Then I'm willing not to be a man for one day." Steven said.

"Why would we, who don't like sweet, come to a desert shop anyway?"

"But you agreed and I won't take no for answer. We almost reach that place. So don't complain too much."

Ting~

The bell on the door ring when Meili pushed open and enter.

The decoration of this shop is quite simple and cozy, unlike most of the dessert shops with decorating full of pretty and eye-catching stuff.

At least, it didn't make us stone stiff men seem out of place.

When we were waiting for Water Lily to order what she wants, Steven's voice catched our attention.

"Hey, isn't that your fiancee?" Steven pulled my arm in that direction.

At the most corner, there sat a man and woman. And that woman is Fang Aylin.

They didn't see us as they sit farther away from where we sit.

"Who is that man she is with? Look like they're pretty close." I do not know whose voice is it as my eyes been focused on that two people.

The woman seemed to enjoy her dessert and the men look at her lovingly and from time to time wipe her mouth with a napkin.

'So she can make that expression too.'

Unlike when she smiles sarcastically at me the first time we meet, this time her smile looks sincere as it from the joy she felt when she's with the person she loves.

It has been four days now from the day she declared she was going to annoy me every day, but she didn't show up since then.

'Ha, so you're that kind of person. Why she need to mess with me when she has a lover already?'

"What are you guys looking at?" Meili who finished her order came bace to see them staring at one place. She followed their gaze.

"Oh! It's Aylin."

Before I could even stop her, she already walks up to talk to them.

I didn't know what they're talking about but Aylin looks over here for a sec and turns back to talking with Meili. At that brief moment when she looks at me, I'm sure she looks surprised.

"What a coincidence! She's also a fan of this shop too. I asked her if she wants to join us but she declined, saying she comes with a friend."

'Friend? at least try thinking of a better excuse.'

"Yihan, don't you need to say hello?" Meili asked.

"Why should I? Don't you come here to eat your dessert if not, let's leave."

"No, I'll eat." Meili looked at Yihan and turned to look at Aylin, but she didn't say anything more.
