Chapter seventeen

Maeve

I had finally agreed to go with Alpha Devon, because I didn't want him to be able to tell that there was a problem. I really didn't want to see Arthur again, but I had no choice.

I had already packed my things and was waiting in the living room for Alpha Devon to come down. I twisted my fingers in my hands as I looked around, trying not to seem too nervous. I used the back of my hand to wipe my forehead.

I heard footsteps walking down the stairs and I quickly put my hand down and stood up.

"Good morning, Alpha." I greeted alpha Devon as he came to stand beside me.

"Good morning, Maeve. How was your night?" He asked with a smile on his face.

"It was fine, Alpha." I answered.

"That's good to hear. I hope you're ready for our journey, because it's going to be a pretty long one." He said and I sighed.
