Ava's POV
It's been weeks since I lost my virginity to a man whose name I never even knew. What once felt like a mistake, has started to feel strangely normal. Still, a part of me wished I could see him again. But then it was just a dream and could never happen. Who knows if I still existed in the man's head? And why would he? No one ever knew who I was, even if he wanted to find out about me, there was no way he could find me. I was nobody in the family. Just a janitor, who works without getting paid. Every time I thought about it, that one thing I guarded for so long, given away to a stranger, my heart ached. But there was nothing I could do. Regret didn't change anything. My hopes were worthless! My thoughts meant nothing! My dreams? Completely useless. Suddenly, a splash of cold water hit my face, yanking me out of my thoughts. I gasped, jerking upright as I choked on my breath. "What the hell is your problem?" I snapped, as soon as I saw the person in front of me. Alison stood in front of me, burning with rage. "I've been calling your name for ages," she said. "You were just sitting there like a statue." I rubbed my face, still soaked and confused. “What are you even doing here?” She raised a brow. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that? Aren’t you supposed to be at work or something?” I clenched my fists. “What gives you the right to talk to me like that?” She gave me a look like I’d lost my mind. “Are you… Okay?” My clothes were in a mess. What on earth had I done to deserve all these? The little brat had the guts to pour water on me. "Don't ever try this again," I yelled. "What gave you the right to talk to me that way? I have told you that you don't deserve to be in this family, murderer. " she snapped. My face darkened. Without thinking, I raised my hands to slap her. But before I could, someone caught my wrist midair. I froze when I saw my dad. His face twisted in fury. "How dare you raise your hands on her?" he thundered. His grip tightened. I froze. He now wanted her, not me. "D-Dad, she called me a murderer." I stammered. He looked at me in disgust. And then, after a long pause, he said, "Are you not a murderer?" I froze. His words echoed in my head. I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. My father had finally agreed that I was a murderer. He had chosen her. They all believed that I was the cause of my mother's death. Tears streamed down my face as I remembered her face. I didn't want her to die. She went out to get medicine for me and then she never came back. Was it my fault? She had an accident and died. I fell to the ground, wondering why I ended up falling sick. "Ava, don't fake those tears and get ready to work." My dad said coldly, before walking away. Alison stared at me, smirking. But I didn't care, all I wished was to leave the house for good. It was another day of tears. It was evening already. I got ready and left for the Silver Royale Hotel for my janitor job. My father's words still echoed in my head. It wasn't up to an hour when Henry, my ex-boyfriend, appeared. I frowned immediately. What was he looking for this time? The only person I hoped to see was the man from that night. But he hadn't since. "Ava, I have been searching for you everywhere, " Henry said, as he walked towards me. "What do you want this time? Haven't you done enough?" I asked calmly. Today was a bad day for me, from my dad to this. I wondered when I would ever be happy. "Ava, I am sorry for what happened," he said, reaching out to touch my face. "Don't touch me," I said angrily, moving backward. "Don't act like you don't love me. The deed is done. It was just a simple mistake and we can still move on with our lives." He said those words as if it were so easy to forget. I let out a bitter laugh. "I should forgive you after I caught you with my sister. It was a mistake. Is that all you could say?" "What else do you want me to say? I only love you. She forced me into sleeping with her. I regret it so much. Please forgive me." he pleaded. "Well, I really can't get back to you," I said, without hesitation. "Why? Don't you love me anymore?" He asked, his voice rising. "I don't Henry," I said, without a second thought. His face changed. "I knew it," he snapped. You have been cheating on me and making me look like I was wrong. After all the care I gave you, you still want to leave me. You will regret this Ava." His voice was loud enough to draw the attention of the nearby guests. And then, just like that, he stormed off. That was when Alison walked in. What does she want this time? Why was everyone after me? Was she here to mock me? I dropped the tray I was holding and faced her fully. "How is work going?" she said, her voice thick with sarcasm. "What do you want?" My face darkened as I asked. "Follow me," she snapped. "My mum and dad want you home immediately." I knew that arguing with her was a waste of time. So I followed her. A silver car was parked outside the hotel, which was hers. We got home without me saying a single word to her as she chatted and laughed with her friends while in the car. It had never happened that I was called for a meeting. They made decisions for me without my consent. I took my seat far away from the rest of the family. "Mom and Dad have some exciting news for you..." Alison's voice chilled like she had been waiting for this news all her life. With her expression, I already knew the news was certainly going to be bad. "Get ready! You are getting married," the bomb was finally dropped. What?!Ava's POV "You can't do anything to me, you cheated on your husband and that is what a man deserves when he tries to cross his boundaries," Michael growled. "I never cheated on you. Sorry to say, if I ever find out that the young man is dead, my friend is dead. You ever regret getting married to me," I threatened, though I knew that I couldn't lay a finger on him. He could use his wealth to do whatever he wanted. But he can never kill Henry, my ex-boyfriend. Michael moved closer to me and grabbed my hands. "Ahhh! Leave me alone!" I whimpered in pain. He dragged and threw me out of his room like trash. I ran to the guestroom, as hot tears spilled down my cheeks burning my skin. I really couldn't hold it anymore, just wanted to cry out all my pain maybe it might help relieve me a little. I hit the table so many times, gnashing my teeth. It was obvious that I was transferring my aggressions onto the table. I pulled out my phone and dialed Henry's number. I knew I still had the

Ava's POV His eyes reddened in anger. He was about to hit me when my eyes snapped open from deep sleep. It was a nightmare! Another nightmare that was connected to him. I mean Michael. "Oh, she is awake now! Go inform her husband!" a voice said which eventually brought me back to reality. "What! I was back here!" I said as I looked around the room, sitting upright. "Be careful, miss." That was when I saw a doctor who hurried to assist me. My head flashed back to what happened before I fainted and I knew this was the worst day ever.I was about to ask the doctor what I was doing here, but then it was no use. I now know what brought me here. This was Michael's bedroom I avoided so much. How could I come back to this arrogant man's bedroom? "Hope everything is fine, Miss?" The doctor asked again. "Yes, I am fine," I said, but then I suddenly heard Michael's voice. What was he going to do next? Hit me! Yell at me! Call me a cheat! I know that was all and I wasn't surprised.I want
Ava's POV My heart skipped a bit as I flinched in fear, shifting my head in the direction of the voice to face the damn person. "Huh?" I stuttered as I realized that it was Michael's brother. My heart was racing so fast already as I tried to force air into my lungs, having a feeling that maybe he had heard the conversation with Juliana. "What? Are you okay? What are you doing on the balcony at this hour? It's late, you're supposed to be asleep." He said, his voice filled with concern. "Mmmh!" I stammered, not knowing what to say. I really do not want to lie but then it was the best option now. "I understand. It is fine. My brother offended you again, right? It is fine, you can sleep in my room.""Your room?" I asked with sarcasm in my head."Yes, what is wrong with that?" he asked. I didn't say anything. I was lost in thought but when a hand slid below my waist region, I was so fast to be alerted again. I tried to move but then his grip on my waist tightened."Don't act like
Ava's POV He switched on the light. It was so easy because he had the remote with him. My breath hitched and for a moment I forgot how to speak. I shivered like someone who was caught in stealing."What was I going to say to him?" I asked within myself. I tried to come up with something to say, but my brain was not working and I was so confused already. He can't know where I was going to, it was almost midnight. Now that he allowed me to stay in his room, I was running out. He would definitely see me as a slut. "I--i w--wa." I stammered badly, before I could say a word, he shut me up. "Shut the fuck up! Now tell me, tell me to my face where you were going to?" he yelled. If his mother hears about this, it would be hell for me. I turned in the direction of the bed, he had finally freed me from his grasp, but it felt like he was still holding me around my waist. I bit my lips, trying to gather up the courage to speak. "I just wanted to go take something downstairs. I tiptoed bec
Ava's POV I could see a man in dark suit walk in. He looked familiar. He moved closer.I stood up immediately, trying so hard to keep my feet steady but then I felt so weak. Immediately, I fell into a familiar yet unfamiliar embrace. I struggled to open my eyes but couldn't see the person clearly. *****************When my eyes opened again, I found myself lying on the bed. I closed my eyes for a moment, feeling so confused. When I opened again, I looked around to see that I was in a room. This was Micheal's room that he never wanted me to be in. When I tried to stand up, I realized that an IV drip was connected to my head. I removed it. I realized that I fainted earlier. I was sweating profusely. I took a deep breath, a calming breath to think of the way forward. I had no idea of what the future held or what being married to Michael would be like. "You are finally awake," I heard a voice behind me. I turned and noticed an unfamiliar face. "Who are you please?" I asked curi
