Chapter 4

Nicola's pov 

"Nothing's right D. How am I supposed to work with him for 3 months?... we're not compatible in any way . It's obvious he'd rather have this deal done any other way than this way …things may go wrong and we'd ruin everything."

"What you should be worried about is how you won't fall totally in love with him like the rest of us in the world by the end of those 3 months" …she stays before stuffing her face with a chocolate filled doughnut.

"That's a stupid thing to say Diana"...I laugh cause for some reason I think it's funny.

"I'm being serious Nick. He's a super handsome guy with a perfect nose and the best hair ever and a well defined chin and God those shoulders holy shit …did you see his hands…ohh I'd give anything to have those hands on me."

She moaned..she actually moaned and I'm laughing really hard

"You've totally lost your mind D…you just moaned."

"I know"

She says laughing too

"And I can't tell if it's the doughnut or the fantasy I just had about Hawthorne ".

I burst out laughing again 

"But really Nicola stuff like that actually happens. You could find yourself madly in love with him before you know it ".

She's about to say something else before she's cut off.

"Madly in love with who?"

My mom asks as she walks in 

"Hey mom"

"Hi Nora . How are you?"

"I'm good D"...she says smiling…" it's always good to see you . Who's Nicky in love with?"

"Come on mom there's nothing like that "

"But you guys where talking about someone before I walked in . Come on Nicky talk to me."

She sits on the bed grabs a doughnut and bites into it.

"It's no one mom"...Diana snorts …"stupid bitch" I say as I toss a pillow at her " this is your fault".

"Watch your language baby" .

My mom says through a mouthful of doughnut 

"Come on Nick you can't actually say you don't find him attractive. He's the kind of obsession you never get over . He's hot as hell ,sexy as the devil and the kind of man that is made for sin and temptation. The kind of man every woman wants yet can't have".

" Okayyy Diana your unholy metaphors don't make me fine him any more appealing than I already do ,it's just making me scared . But I'm not even surprised that metaphors concerning William are connected to the devil".

"William?"...my mom says with a strange type of glow on her face…"as in the William Hawthorne?"

Now she's smiling

"Yessss …see Nick your mom gets it "

"You like William baby?"

"No mom I don't . I just have work with him and that's your fault and because Diana has this massive undying love for him she won't let me be".

"You have work with him . Your dad has signed the contract?"

"Yes he's probably going to tell you about it when he gets back but that's not the point . The point is I'm the one that going to have to work with him because you want to travel to Africa next week".

"Ohh your dad told you about that?"

Now she's beaming with a smile 

"Apparently he did and now Nicola dear will have to Hawthorne herself although she's going to have Carol , I and a few others."

"So what's the big deal … it's a great opportunity baby . You're beautiful and he is very attractive too".

"Stop mom".

That comes out a little harsher than I intended 

"You too D I don't like him and that's that okay . End of discussion okay ?"

I look between my mom and Diana and they both nod in agreement 

This is getting really exhausting really fast .
