Julianne sat up in bed and had her eyes towards the window, waiting. The lights in her room were off and she sat like that for a while, waiting for Cassian to come in through her window. If it were not for Marianne, why would she be expecting a vampire to come in through her window, and that too in the night?

Julianne was angry at Cassian. Keeping her little secret does not give him the permission to hunt the people around her for his own desire.

Speaking about the people around her, she realized she has not seen Velvet since yesterday. Where could she be?

Julianne felt uneasy thinking about Velvet. A part of her told her she was in trouble. The only person she could think of behind it was Jordan. What if he had kidnapped her and locked her somewhere?

All of a sudden, she stood up and walked to the door. She left her room and headed straight to Velvet's room. As she went, it felt like her legs were the one taking her and she was just responding to it.

People stared and whispered to each other as Maximus strolled down the rooms. He finally reached a door and opened it. The other boy was inside, hanging upside down the bed and he darted his eyes towards the door.“Our guests are here,” he said and raised himself up. “But why are you early, Maximus You said you had somewhere to go.”“I decided not to,” Maximus replied and moved his eyes to see Marianne flexing her shoulder. “Did he hurt you?” he asked, his eyes raising with concern.Marianne looked at him weirdly and replied, “No, I’m fine.”“Did something happen?” the boy asked. “I heard commotion outside but there is really nothing good about this place anyway. Who was it?”“Timothy,” Maximus answered and moved to the side of the room.“Oh that perv.”“Where is Cassian?” Julianne asked and the two boys looked at her.“Expecting you,” the other boy said with a raised tone. “His room is close by, but I can take you to him.”As the boy stood and made to walk, something fell off and mad

“I like the length of your hair,” Marianne commented after glancing over Julianne’s hair since they started to head towards the boy’s dormitory.Julianne pushed the strands to the back of her ear and said to her, “Thanks.”“So, what is it you want from Cassian? Is it something he took from you? I was thinking you could report it rather than meeting his demands. He may see you as a pushover and Aurora isn’t going to back away either.”“I can’t report it,” Julianne said and pressed her lips together.Marianne stood in front of her, stopping her from walking further and she asked with concern, “Are you being threatened?”Julianne looked surprised as she didn’t expect that reaction from Marianne. She shook her head immediately and said, “I wish I could tell you right now, but I can’t. I’m sorry.”Marianne pulled her brows. “Is it something I can’t know? Something a friend cannot know? If that’s what I am to you.”Julianne blinked and felt like she was in the wrong. Does she really conside

“Will you really go to the boy’s dormitory?” Marianne asked after they got to their dorm.Julianne turned to her and said, “I have to.”Marianne stood there looking at her and then asked, “Do you want me to come with you?”“I was hoping you would ask me that,” Julianne replied with a smile.Although Marianne looks uncertain, she still agreed to it. Before she would go to her room, she asked, “Have you heard from Velvet?”Velvet…Julianne thought. How could she forget about her?“No, I have not,” she answered.Marianne gave a nod and headed to her room while Julianne walked into hers and shut the door. She walked to her cupboard and picked out a hoodie with a jean trouser before laying them on the bed. She let her body collapse on the other side of the bed and she stared up at the ceiling. As she laid there in silence, her thoughts were soon consumed by the boy she saw at the bleachers earlier—Lucien. She tried to remember at all, if she knew him from somewhere, but all she got were bla

The match ended with the blue team winning against the red team by four to one. Julianne walked down the bleachers to the field with Marianne right behind her, and Cassian, on sighting her, walked to meet up with her with his hair all damp and his shirt wet with sweat.“You lost,” she said to him.Cassian pulled his brows and raised his shoulders before dropping them. “You are strange,” he said and slid his hair backwards with his fingers. “You could have said ‘Hey that was quite a match’ but no.”Marianne tugged slightly at Julianne’s cloth, telling her that they should go. At the same time, some new faces walked up to where they were and Julianne could tell right away that they were friends with Cassian—or kinds like him.“That wasn’t a fair match,” one out of the two boys said with a frown.“When has it ever been fair?” Cassian replied him and then moved his eyes to look at Maximus who stared at Julianne like he wanted something from her.“Who is she?” Maximus asked and Julianne lo

Julianne woke up in her room the next morning. She had managed to sneak back in without anyone noticing. As she tied her hair, she looked forward to what the day holds for her. Cassian had told her to come to the bleachers if she wanted to learn the truth. All she needed was to cheer for him. How can someone be so unserious? She walked out of the room and decided to check on Marianne. When she got to her door, she knocked on it gently and the door soon opened.Marianne rubbed her eyes and wore her glasses. It appears that she was just waking up.“Hi, morning,” Julianne greeted.Marianne stared at her and asked, “You are Julianne, right?”Julianne pulled her brows a little and asked, “Why did you ask? Did you forget who I am?”Marianne scratched her head and replied her, “Uhh...I think I am starting to forget things.”Julianne blinked and felt sorry for her. Marianne is just so innocent and something like that shouldn’t have happened to her. Yet, she couldn’t bring herself to tell her
