Chapter 9

He stormed to Where Celeste was staying for the night, Celeste had decided to spend the night at his place with the pretence of caring for Selena.

Celeste sat on the couch the in room, her fingers trembling as she scrolled through her phone. She hadn’t eaten, hadn’t moved, and was too afraid of Damon’s wrath.

He was mad at her for not allowing the maid to go to the backyard when she said she heard someone screaming.

Celeste was too afraid to step out because she was scared that Damon would see through her eyes that she had pushed Ivy into the pool.

She was thinking of what to do next since Selena had survive the attempt murder.

BAM!!!

The door slammed open and Damon stormed in like a demon unleashed.

“CELLLLEEEESTE!!!!” he bellowed, his voice shaking the walls.

She dropped her phone in terror and stood up, she could tell Damon already found out she pushed Selena , she decided to simply admit to it thinking Damon would forgive her because of the time they had spent together.“Boss, I....I can explain......”

“You pushed her?!” he cut her off, his voice like thunder. “You pushed her into the pool and left her to die?!”

“I—I didn’t mean to...”

“YOU COULD HAVE KILLED HER!!!SHE ALMOST LOST HER LIFE!!!! ”

The air felt like fire. Everyone in the house froze.

“I trusted you with this house, I trusted you with her!” Damon shouted. “And you betrayed both ”

Celeste fell to her knees, sobbing. “Please, Damon! I love you! I did it for us! That girl is a distraction! She’s.....she’s going to ruin you....”

SLAP!!!

The sound echoed.

Damon’s hand had struck her face with such force that she collapsed to the ground.

"What the heck do you mean by you love me?!! "he growled, standing over her like a god of wrath.

“i really do!! I was only doing this because I love you and I wanted to protect you!! Your rivals will use her to destroy you , I only tried to kill her for your good!!!” Celeste screamed and Damon mercilessly kicked her in the stomach making her cough out a mouthful of blood.

"You still dare to say that shit!! You had no right to touch my woman!!! " He yelled and kicked her again in the stomach.

"Ah!! Please!! " Celeste screamed out in pain while coughing blood.

"Leo!! " Damon screamed for his bodyguard who was standing outside the room.

"Yes boss " Leo answered as he walked inside.

"Take Celeste to the basement and chain her up " He ordered , and walked out of the room.

"No!! Please, Damon please!!! Please!!! " Celeste kept screaming but Damon was long gone.

Leo grabbed Celeste easily by the shoulders and started dragging her out ignoring her pleas and cries for another chance.

HAZEL'S HOME

Hazel gently opened her room door and poked her head outside , she looked down the hallway making sure nobody was around before she stepped out.

She sneaked out of the mansion quietly without getting caught.once she was outside she stopped a cab and got into it , telling the driver to take her to a nearby bar.

Soon enough the car stopped in front of a bar , she got out and paid the driver before going into the bar, the bar was dimly lit, the air thick with cheap perfume and blurred intentions. A jukebox hummed a slow, forgotten tune. Hazel slid onto a stool, her curls falling into her face, shielding her from curious eyes.

“Whiskey ” she mumbled to the bartender, voice hoarse with unshed tears.

“One shot or bottle?”

She shrugged. “Surprise me ”

Three shots in, the fire in her chest dulled. Five in, she was laughing at nothing. Seven… and her legs barely worked. She stumbled out the door, boots clicking against wet pavement, mascara smudging under her eyes like war paint.

That’s when she bumped into somebody, he had a Hard chest, smelled of Expensive cologne. His Strong hands caught her before she fell completely.

“Whoa there ” he said with his deep voice said, smooth and amused.

Hazel blinked up at the stranger. Sharp jawline. Dark eyes. A smirk that looked like it could ruin lives. His tailored coat screamed money. His presence screamed danger.

“Are you real, or just a very hot hallucination?”she slurred.

The man laughed, surprised. “Definitely real You, though… you’re drunk off your ass ”

“I’m not drunk” she whispered, gripping his lapel to steady herself.

“Come on,” he said softly, slipping an arm around her shoulders. “Let’s get you off the street, You’re not safe like this ”

Hazel leaned into him, trusting the stranger blindly.

Randy guided Hazel toward a bench outside the bar, trying to keep her steady, but she moved like a loose noodle with no bones.

"Okay, sit just for a second " he said, adjusting his grip so she didn’t tumble face-first onto the pavement.

Hazel plopped down dramatically, spreading her arms wide like she was posing for an invisible camera."So you like hot girls like me ? " She asked drunkenly and winked.

Randy blinked before speaking.

"Are you offering yourself to a stranger ? " He asked.

Hazel pointed at him with a crooked finger. "Don't be shy , just say yes "

He raised an eyebrow. “Wow, you are really drunk ”

Then, out of nowhere, she stood up, climbed onto the bench, and yelled.

“EVERYBODY LISTEN TO ME! THIS MAN....” she gestured dramatically at Randy, “IS TRYING TO TAKE ME TO HIS HOUSE AND SLEEP WITH ME!”

Several people turned, confused, and amused. Randy’s jaw dropped by Hazel words.

“What the hell are you saying?” he hissed, trying to pull her down. “You’re going to get me arrested!”

Hazel dramatically gasped. "Oh no! Did I say too much?! I am sorry " she said and burst into laughter.

The bartender from earlier peeked out the door, chuckling. “Is she yours?”

“God, no, i don’t even know her name” Randy muttered.

Hazel frowned and pointed at herself. “My name is Hazel. H-A-Z-E-L. Like the nut Or the eye color ”

She twirled clumsily, lost balance, and—boom—fell right into Randy’s arms again, nearly knocking them both over this time around.

He sighed, brushing her hair out of her eyes. “You’re a disaster ”

"Can you run ? " She asked all of a sudden , leaving him speechless for a while.

" I guess so , why are you asking ? "

"Catch me if you can!!!" She yelled and started running away from him.

"What did I get myself into ? " Randy mumbled before chasing after Hazel who was totally drunk and had no idea what she was doing.

He caught up with her in no time and picked her up in a bridal style, he Carried her toward his sleek black car parked down the street.

After sitting her down he got into his car also and drove away with her.

THAT SAME NIGHT ~ WILLIAM'S MANSION ~ IVY'S ROOM

Ivy was sleeping in her room , tossing on the bed and shaking fearfully while sleeping.

"Please don't kill me!!! " She yelled from her sleep and sat upright.

She quickly turned on her room lights and began looking around fearfully , she was still traumatized by what happened in the afternoon and was having a nightmare.

She got up from the bed and picked up one of her pillows and walked out of the room.

She walked down the hallway alone while shivering fearfully , finally she arrived in front of Damon's door room.

She pushed the door and smiled slightly when she saw it was unlocked from inside, she pushed it open and sneaked in.

Damon's room was pitch dark , all the nights were turned off so it was a bit difficult for ivy to see but she managed to get to his bedside.

She climbed on top of the bed and went to cuddle next to Damon like a scared little bunny, she hugged him tightly while she closed her eyes to sleep , for some reason she felt really safe in his arms and fell asleep quicker than she had expected...................
