Leona rushed into the Cooking classroom, making it just on time as the bell rung. All the "desks" were replaced by mini kitchen stations, with little stools, so Leona sat all the way in the back. It was yet another class where Leona didn't know anyone. I guess Donovan isn't in this class. For the rest of the period, Leona simply paid attention to the lesson, which consisted of starter cooking tips and beginner recipes. The period went by in a breeze and it was finally lunch time. Leona packed up her stuff and headed towards the crowded cafeteria. To her surprise, she didn't see Khloe, and while that worried Leona bit, she shrugged it off and took a seat at one of the red circular tables near window where Leona could see the outside front parking lot of the school, as well as the city in the distance. She placed her hand on her knee where she previously got injured, and sighed. It was perfectly gone, no small scratches or anything, and it didn't surprise Leona one bit. Leona sudden
"I think this is better — I'm not well with starting conversation," Leona said, moving on to her next stack of papers. "Even if I greeted everyone who walked in, I probably wouldn't know what to say after that. Zach and Emily seem to know how to do everything by heart though . . ." "Really? That's too bad, I'm sure you could do well with some practice. I mean, even though you're the youngest one out of all of us, in terms of grade level, you're the most reliable I would say," Chelsea said, smiling at Leona and pointing at all the organized drawers and files she had already finished. "What are you, a robot?" Chelsea joked, and Leona held back her laughter as she handed another stack of blank printing paper to Chelsea. "You should probably get back to work before Emily scolds you again." "Yeah, yeah," Chelsea sarcastically agreed, taking the papers and slumping all the way back to the printing room. Suddenly, Emily came inside the room where Leona was working, as if she was in a rus
"What have I done?" Leona shouted at Khloe with worry on her face as she snapped back to her current situation. "Wha—you're asking me? What got into you all of a sudden?" Khloe yelled back with a shocked and confused expression. "I know I just . . ." Leona groaned as she sat down on one of the locker room's benches. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lose my composure like that." "Why are you apologizing to me? If anything, he deserved it for thinking he owns the place, and can just talk to anyone however he wants!" Khloe exclaimed, taking a seat next to Leona. "I don't think you should apologize for anythin—" "I do," Leona abruptly replied. "I do need to apologize. "He may seem horrible but he's not." Leona's voice trailed off, and Khloe looked at her with concern in her eyes. "He's not?" Khloe asked, trying to get Leona to finish her sentence. He's not him. Leona sighed and stood up, walking towards the locker room entrance. "I think I'll apologize tomorrow during class. The period
Once Leona was safely in class, she was relieved to see barely any students already there. Taking her seat, she began to take out her materials, thinking of how she was going to apologize to Jaiden once he entered the classroom. I could just send him a note . . . but that doesn't seem too sincere. While in the middle of thinking, someone tapped her desk. She looked up, and to her surprise, it was Terrell. What's he doing here? Doesn't he usually appear with the late group? Is he here on behalf of Jaiden? Leona's thoughts started swirling in her head as he looked at her with a serious face. Terrell never seemed like the serious type, so she figured that she wasn't in a good position right now. "There's a group coming after you, yeah? Make sure to stay away from the back school building, and stay around a lot of people," Terrell said as he sat on top of the desk in the row in front of Leona. Leona's concerned expression suddenly changed into a confused one. Is Terrell . . . lookin
"Leona!" Donovan shouted, running out of breath as he finally caught meeting eyes with Jaiden as he leaned up against a streetlight pole. She figured this would be a good chance to ask him about the note, and if his little group wouldn't be coming after her anymore. To her surprise, he walked over to her first, sipping his drink that he must've gotten from the local cafe. "You walk?" Jaiden asked, and Leona slowly nodded. "For the time being, I guess so. Also—" Leona pulled out the note from her skirt's pocket and showed it to him. "What does this mean?" She asked, but Jaiden simply kept sipping on his drink, moving the straw around inside the cup. "It's exactly what it says," Jaiden said, finally answering her after taking so many sips. "I took care of it." "How?" Leona muttered, but instead of outright asking. she simply thanked him for forgiving her and helping her out. Jaiden stared at her for a long time as she stood there awkwardly, moving her eyes around to look at things
Leona could feel sweat drip down her face as she stared at her bedroom ceiling in shock. Suddenly, she got up and went inside one of her drawers, pulling out a small jewlery box. She opened it, finding a beautiful silver necklace with a silver gem in the middle. "How did I forget about you?" Leona muttered to herself as she stared at the necklace in awe. "Okay, then, I'll wear it today." Leona nodded to herself, placing the necklace on her bedside table and getting ready for school. After finally putting on her uniform, Leona moved her long black hair out of the way, and used her mirror to put on her necklace. However, after straing at it for a while, she hid it under her uniform. The necklace was the only thing that was with Leona ever since she was first adopted. Her parents had told her before that when they saw her for the first time, she already had the necklace on. To keep it safe all these years, she stored it in her drawers, but after having such a weird nightmare, she fig
"Atlantis....?" Leona mumbled to herself before quickly closing her journal and stepping out of the car.Leona and her mom walked into the electronics store, but all the excitement for a phone wasn't there as much as before. Leona was too worried and confused about what she had just experienced, like how she heard music when the radio wasn't on, and how she was writing sheet music without even knowing.Did I hear that song from somewhere before? Leona thought as she looked at all the phones behind the glass cases. She suddenly recognized a certain phone- the Samsung Galaxy A20."That's the one Khloe has, right?" Leona mumbled to herself, smiling as she stared at the phone."Ah, the Samsung Galaxy A20, huh?" The store clerk asked, walking over to her and taking the phone out of its case so that Leona and her mom could get a closer look."See, this phone in particular saves a lot of battery, and you can even go on night mode for a lot of apps by going to your notification bar. The camer
Leona was back in the office during her Student Aid period, still organizing papers in the little cramped backroom, as she watched Emily and Zach do their usual work in the front.Work went a little slower today since Leona kept thinking of what she should tell Jaiden. After asking her to tutor him, he then said that she could give him an answer later."It's not that I really mind tutoring anyone...." Leona mumbled to herself, spacing off as she started to think of the consequences if her dad were to ever find out that she was helping a boy.She slowly put papers in folders, and thought of how she would even be able to help him. He was already at a D in that class, and Leona was at an A. She had to figure out a way to help him even with their gap in grades.Yeah, there shouldn't be anything wrong with helping him out, but his friends...."What would his friends think? Would they go after me again?" Leona said to herself before suddenly gasping."Tara....." she whispered in shock.Ther
