"Five, four, three, two, one! Ready or not here l come". Lilian, a young woman in her early thirties calls aloud as she uncovers her eyes. She was playing a game of hide and seek with her five year old daughter Lilith in their small apartment. "Now where could you be" She asked rhetorically as she looks around the sitting room, behind and beside her cushions, under the center table, behind the fridge, and every where else in the sitting room with a slight look of fustration on her face. "Honey" she called out to her baby girl. "You know you were supposed to hide only within the sitting room and l suppose you are not here at all" she continued still looking around with her eye balls rolling around the sitting room. From up to down, left to right, till her eyes met something she was drawn to. A small cupboard beside the all screen TV. 'That's it!' She said to herself with joy. That's where Lilith was hidding, and she was sure she could fit into it judging from her size. Slowly, she tip toed to the cupboard, not wanting to alert her of her coming as she was sure she must have by now believed she was already fustrated and accepting her loss. She smiled to herself as she imagined the look that will plaster on her pretty baby girl's face when she finds out she found her. She got close to the cupboard and flung it open with full force. "Gotcha!". Lilith was startled at first but got hold of herself and let out a loud laugh. "Ha haha. Mommy you found me". She stretched out her arms for her mom to carry her. "Of course l did baby girl" Lilian took her hands "come here baby girl". She kissed her on she both cheeks and tickled her. "Mommy haha" Lilith giggled as she held her mom tight and give in to her tickles and kisses. But suddenly, her stomach growled loudly. She looked at her mom and she looked back at her. They stayed like that for about three seconds before they both burst into laughter. "Looks like my baby girl needs feeding. It seems that all the monsters in her belly have eaten all the Mac and cheese she had about two hours ago hmm" Lilian teased. "No mommy " Lilith began with a pout. "I don't have monsters in my belly and l am not hungry, l am still full from the Mac and... ". She was still speaking before her stomach growled again, this time louder than before and making her loose track of her words as her mother burst in to another round of laughter. "You were saying?" Lilian kept laughing till she heard another growl. "Now that's the height of it" her face turned serious. "It's almost dinner time and l am not supposed to blame you for being that hungry, besides you just finished playing and am sure you sweated some of your food out of your body pores". She brought her down and crouched to her level. "Come on, let's get you cleaned up so we can have dinner" she said to het with the most beautiful smile. "Sure mommy" young Lilith nodded and returned her mother's smile with more life in hers. Her mother was the only family she had and knew about, as she doesn't even know who her father was or what he looks like since she was born. Her mother always told her that her father was among Triven's military and defense forces against other worlds. She really did not understand what her mother meant, but she sure believed her father was a superhero just like in her story books. She took her to the bathroom and gave her a thorough bath under the shower. She would have used the tub but she knew her hunger won't allow her to wait for the bath to be drawn, so she passed for the shower. She got her dressed up in her pajamas and had her bath too and change in to her night gown as well. "Now come here" Lilian lifted her up again and carried her to the kitchen where she placed her on the dinning table and went ahead to the stove and sink. Lilith pick up her toy that she had left on the table earlier that day and began playing with it. It was a teddy bear a gift from her mom when she turned five last month, and it had her favorite color, purple. She cuddle the teddy bear as she watched her mother contemplate on what to cook. "Mummy how about you set up a salad" she suggest salivating already at the thought of having a salad. Lilian clicked her fingers and turned to Lilith. "You are very right baby and we can have with the grilled chicken!". "Yummy!" Lilith squeaked in joy. Lilian smiled at her and set up a salad immediately. Carrots, cucumbers, cabbage, green beans, tomatoes and lastly some flavor and soothed with mayonnaise plus the grilled chicken. It looked so tasty and Lilith could wait to have a taste already and neither could her stomach too as it growled louder than ever. "Tell your monsters to calm down baby" Lilian teased again. "Food will be served in no time, just some finally touches". "Mommy l am so so hungry, l want to eat already" she groaned with a pout, making her look very cute. "Ok, ok, ok" Lilian dished the food immediately into two plates one for her and the other for Lilith. She placed the plates on the dinning table and helped Lilith seat comfortablely on a chair and sat opposite her. She set the food before her with a glass of juice and handed her her favorite cutlery that had her favorite color as well. She dug in immediately, munching eat bite of the food with sweet moans. "This tastes really good mommy " she complimented without even looking up to her mother as she couldn't take her attention away from the food. "Thanks baby but take it easy, you might choke on the cabbages". Lilian just started at her daughter with so much affection, she reminded him alot of her late husband Phil. He was among Triven's force against other worlds, to stand for it dominance and existence on the planet. He died in the last war five years ago against Ravine a world that tried to dominate over Triven and rid it of its existence. Triven multiplied it's forces and fought against Ravine and fortunately, they won against them and mapped them out of the surface of the planet. Despite the joy of their victory, the lost of her husband still left an abyss of sadness in her heart which was partly covered with the birth of Lilith. She was born two days after the war, after Phil's death. He did get to meet her, and see how she took after him. His purple hair and eyes, caramel skin. And most of all, his sweet smile. She really missed him so much but could tell her poor daughter that her father was dead. So she just made her believe her dad was her greatest hero and fighting for her right now. "Mommy" Lilith called , followed by a yawn jolting her mom from het thoughts. "What's it love" Lilian wiped a tear from her left her that fell by mistake, and she didn't want Lilith to see. "I am ok mommy l would like to sleep now". "Sure" Lilian left her food and stood to carry. She took her to her room and laid her comfortablely on her bed and tucked her in properly before she turned to leave but was stopped by Lilith's yelp. Lilian was startled. "What is it darling?" She bent to her. "You forgot to read to me my favorite story book" she said obviously annoyed with a pout. "Sorry baby" Lilian slapped her face jokingly which made Lilith chuckle. She walked to her shelf and and took out the story book. She stared at it for a while, wondering what Lilith saw in this particular book. She drew out the chair from her drawing and painting table and sat by her bed before she cleared her throat and began. "Gorgor"... “The usurper has been defeated, Crown Prince Andreas. Please take your place as the king of Gorgor and rule us.” Lord Gerrant bowed as he spoke to Andreas, who had Lilith clutched in his arms.“Do you accept to be our king, to rule us, lead us to greater heights, and uphold our honor and glory among other worlds?!”He listened to what he said carefully, and he knew that was how it all would end. From the moment his father died at the hands of Lord Varnaak, who had declared his intentions to usurp the throne, he was only grateful that he had Lilith beside him to help him fight the battle and win over the greedy lord.He was only unhappy about the people he lost: his father and Karen. They were both very dear to him, and their deaths really hurt him as he believed he had failed them.‘But now it was all over; this was finally the end,’ he consoled himself, looking upon the remaining lords and ladies of the throne room and Lord Gerrant, who spoke to him directly. He had lost his daughter
“So you knew Lilith was responsible for Florate’s death all this while and you kept it hidden from me? Why?!” Rain questioned Thygas in tears.“Dre made me promise not to tell anyone; he did not want her to live in guilt,” he explained, looking very sad that she was crying before him.It had not been long since he woke up, and she refused to wait till he was fully healed before bombarding him with the load of questions she had. He felt terrible to hear the things Lilith did to her, which she only found out last night from his father. How she promised Nex a one-night stand with her just so she could switch their files and become the light mutant in her place. ‘So that was the unfinished deal Nex mentioned the time he asked him why he wished to join Florate in saving them,’ Thygas thought, finally putting two and two together. However, he was actually happy that she succeeded in becoming the light mutant because, according to what the head scientist said, Rain’s genes were not powerful
“What is taking them so long?” Rain puzzled, pacing up and down in the room while Lilith simply sat quietly on the bed. It’s been hours already since Thygas and Andreas left them there, asking them to stay back while they go check out what was going on in the throne room. “I honestly do not have a good feeling about this, I am going to see what happened” Lilith immediately stood from the bed, trying to make her way out of the room while Rain followed her closely but they were stopped immediately when Thygas appeared in the room, looking seriously injured and falling on the bed as soon as he entered. “Oh my goodness!” Rain exclaimed, “Thygas?!” She and Lilith rushed towards him immediately. “What happened to you?” Her eyes were already tearing up as she raised up her face to meet the horror he looked like. “What happened Thygas?” Lilith’s whose heart was pounding already began questioning as well, “where is Andreas?!” Thygas made an attempt to answer their questions but before he
“Father?!” Prince Andreas rushed immediately to where he lay in a pool of his own blood.“No, Father! Wake up! Wake up now! Open your eyes! You are the king of Gorgor!” Andreas was vigorously shaking his lifeless father, hoping he could jolt him back to life somehow.“Why are you doing this, Father?!” Thygas, who followed Andreas closely, questioned his own father, wanting to know the reason why he attacked his own king!“The time for weaklings to rule Gorgor is over from today henceforth, son!” he declared boldly. “I, Lord Varnaak of Gorgor, will no longer allow weak King Radia and his lineage to rule us anymore. They have brought us so much pain, loss, and sorrow. I cannot bear to watch this go on anymore, and I must fight against it and stake my claim as the rightful ruler of Gorgor!”This speech of his earned a loud gasp from the lords and ladies of honor who began trooping into the throne room right after Andreas and Thygas.“Are you mad?!” Thygas could not believe the nonsense h
The throne room was dimly lit, the only sound the soft flickering of torches casting eerie shadows on the walls. King Radia sat on his throne, lost in thought, when suddenly, Lord Varnaak emerged from the darkness. The king's eyes narrowed, sensing a shift in the air."Lord Varnaak," King Radia said, his voice low and even. "I didn't expect you."Lord Varnaak's smile was cold and calculating. "I've been waiting for the perfect moment, Your Majesty," he replied, his eyes gleaming with ambition.Without warning, Lord Varnaak unleashed a wave of illusions, making it seem as though the king was surrounded by multiple versions of himself. King Radia, caught off guard, stumbled back, his powerful blows swinging wildly but hitting nothing.Lord Varnaak seized the opportunity, conjuring a shard of ice that glinted in the torchlight. The king, unaware of his weakness, didn't react in time as the shard pierced his side. He stumbled, his strength waning as the cold spread through his veins. The
