Kiara:

I smiled at Daniella who pat the horses, one by one, giving them a carrot.

“Did you call mamma?” She asked me and I smiled getting down on my knee in front of her “I haven’t heard from her since she left, and she usually calls me good night at least”

“She will be coming back soon, princess. They weren’t going to be long anyway” I promised the little girl. My chest ached as the words left my mouth, I hadn’t heard from Alessio since he landed at Italy, and that was three days ago. I couldn’t even call him in fear of exposing him if he was sneaking in somewhere, but a painful feeling settled in my chest with each passing minute.

"Promise?"

"Didn’t Christian promise you that last night before bed?” I teased. As if on cue, Christian walked inside the stable alongside Grace whose smile was wide as she just returned from the hospital.

“I promised what again?”
