CHAPTER SEVEN

The next day, Francis woke up alone to discover that Irene was gone; he sat up and kneaded his temple to minimize the hangover he was having. He didn’t need to remember what happened last night because looking at his nude body already said it all. He climbed out of the bed and went into the bathroom to shower, after, he dressed up and left for the kitchen to make breakfast for them. He hoped Irene would come down and join him like she used to, the last thing he wants is last night putting an end to their friendship or whatever it is now after last night.

Francis looked at the stairs and when he didn’t see her, he became worried; he stopped chopping the vegetable and walked to the sink to wash his hands. He dried his hands on the apron he was wearing before taking it off. Turning off the cooker, he left the kitchen and went up the stairs. He stopped before a door and without knocking; he pushed open the door and went in.
