“I’m so sorry, Irene,” Joan said.

Irene snatched her hand from Francis ’s hold and sniffled, then she looked away from them, “just leave me alone.”

“Irene….” Francis tried to protest, knowing she wasn’t supposed to be left alone now.

“Francis ,” Joan interrupted and when he looked at her, she shook her head at him and he sighed, then moving away from the bed. They both looked at Irene one more time before leaving the room. Outside the bedroom, she turned to Francis, “have you called George ?”

“Yes, he is on his way back and should be here any time soon. I have to stay away in order to pick him up.”

Joan nodded, “try and be around for her. You need to be on alert, constantly check on her to make sure she won’t be trying anything stupid. I still can’t understand how this happened, she was fine when I checked her up this week,” she
