After the last guests left and the music finally faded into silence, Knox left with his family.

He drove them back to the family mansion in near-total quiet, the only sounds the low hum of the engine and the occasional soft exchange between his parents in the back seat.

Once they were safely inside and the heavy front doors had closed behind them, he turned the car around and headed toward his own place on the other side of the city.
