Lorrie looked at me in disbelief. Her eyes wide in shock and her nostrils flared in suppressed anger.

We’ve known each other for years, and I was never rude to her until now.

I have always treated her like a little sister, but she crossed my bottom line today.

I crossed my arms over my chest and stared at her.

She stared back in a contest of wills.

I have offended her, but I didn’t want to back down.
