Zarlia’s expression remained blank throughout the board meeting, that’s what she got for accepting a job she wasn’t qualified for. She just did what she was told by the assistant—Luke, if she remembered correctly.

“Your job is to take notes in detail, nod every 10 seconds, stand straight—don’t interfere and try not to look terrified, that’s meant for the board members” he said dryly, so dry she almost broke cold sweat. Zarlia gave a stiff nod, clutching her notepad like it was a life raft.

“Got it. Nod, smile, pretend I understand”, she muttered under her breath.

Zarlia kept her posture straight as Luke guided her back from the boardroom. Her notepad was filled with half-finished sentences, question marks and words she didn’t understand. she felt like an imposter in heels that pinched and blouse that slightly too tight.

She nodded to what a man was saying then counted; 1…2…3…4…5…6…7…

Not to mention Stetson’s change in demeanor. He commanded the room like it belonged to him—technical

  • BEYONDERS   Chapter 11

Zarlia clutched her notepad tightly as she made her way to the elevator. The lower floor buzzed with energy the moment Zarlia stepped out of the elevator. Phones rand endlessly, printers whirred and the faint scent of coffee and paper filled the air. Unlike the solitude of the first floor, this floor actually felt alive—like the heart of the company. “Hey! You’re the new girl, right?” someone called.Zarlia turned to see the woman with curly brown hair leaning against a cubicle wall, grinning at her. Her name tag read Nelly.Zarlia nodded, clutching the strap of her tablet bag. “Yeah, that’s me. I’m supposed to get last week’s folders and summaries from you”“Oh, so you are real,” Nelly teased, rummaging through a drawer. “Luke said the boss finally got a new assistant, but I thought he was bluffing. You know how the last one what—two days?”A few heads popped up from their desks.“Two days and one nervous breakdown,” another woman added, spinning in her chair. “The boss doesn’t exac

  • BEYONDERS   Chapter 10

Zarlia knew she shouldn’t be interested but her curiosity got the better of her which made her stay up late googling about werewolves. At first, she didn’t think Stetson was actually one until the results from her search matched Stetson a little too perfectly. Most of her research said werewolves were fictional—as if. She adjusted on her bed, drawing her laptop closer to her. Her eyes scanning the internet like it was her life’s purpose, she wanted to understand—understand Stetson. Why she felt the way she did when he was close to her. Why she felt like a part of her was missing when he wasn’t with her. And more importantly—her hand brushed the mark on her nape—why he bit her. Was she going to turn into a werewolf? Or did it mean something else? Most of what she found was useless. Some blogs claimed werewolves could only be killed with silver bullets, others said they fed on human flesh under every full moon. One even claimed they’ve gone extinct, more showed her that they were g

  • BEYONDERS   Chapter 9

People say wolves stick together—that a pack’s strength is in its unity. But the Red moon clan had different kind of strength: pride. Cold, sharp, and old as their bloodline. They believed in the moon Goddess, in fate, in mates. And when fate failed, they believed in shame. That’s why Stetson left. He was eighteen, unmated and tired of being the Alpha’s biggest disappointment. So, he walked out under the red crescent sky and never looked back. But back at the mansion in Romania, his father couldn’t stop writing. The fireplace was still burning that night, the room heavy with smoke and silence. Donovan Easton, tall and graying but still carrying the weight of an Alpha, sat in his armchair, holding the latest unopened envelope. Across from him stood his nephew, Viktor, dressed like he was born for command—pressed shirt, black slacks, a polished Red moon pin glinting on his collar. “He didn’t respond again”, Donovan said quietly. Viktor shrugged, his voice calm—too calm. “He’s

Stetson stood at the glass wall, his hands against it, like he wanted to break through. She was here. His eyes followed her until she disappeared into the building, the faint scent of her lingering in the air even through the glass, despite the distance. “Mate” Asher growled again, his voice low and impatient in the back of Stetson’s mind. The wolf was restless, prowling, pressing against the edge of his control. They’ve both been searching for a mate for so long, finding one now means needing a hell load of self-control. “She’s late” Stetson muttered under his breath, though the smirk tugging at his lips was more for himself than anyone else. He didn’t like the way his wolf reacted to her—wild, hungry, as if she were the only thing in the world worth chasing. Last night, she had been a mess—drunk, flushed, reckless. Vulnerable. He had taken her home, telling himself it was responsibility, nothing more. Getting her home safely, making sure no one took advantage, though the truth bu

  • BEYONDERS   Chapter 6

A club wasn’t quite far from where Zarlia lived. It was the only way to relieve the tension but it reminded her of the creature she met and of course staying home would mean drowning in memories Romero. It brought her to the thought; she made a lot of bad decisions, drinking tonight would just add to the list but she was already seated at the bar so she might as well take a shot. The club boomed with loud music and lights flashing, she could barely hear her own thought. Good. Because all she thought about was Romero’s betrayal and the ego, he had to confront her with his new girlfriend, bragging about his father being rich. Men who boast about their father’s wealth are nothing but lazy assholes, feeding off from the main successor. “And what would the pretty lady like to get?” said the bar man, leaning on the counter with biceps the size of Vin Disel’s and a Chinese dragon tattooed on both sides. Come to think of it, she remembered that strange creature having a dragon tattoo al
