Chapter Twelve

It was a little bit chilly out, but i needed the fresh air. I needed something else to occupy my mind to avoid my anxiety from kicking in. I didn't want to leave the gala without saying hello to my parents, i also wanted to give Olivia some time to mingle before we left.

But i was in no shape to go back in there, i needed to be as far away from Alex and his bimbo, so if i have to stay out here freeze to death that's exactly what i was going to do.

"There you are." a familiar voice said behind me, I turned to see Alex standing in the doorway and my heart skipped a beat again. I was happy to see him but also furious at him. I had no idea which feeling felt more worse.

Alex walked up to me, "What are you doing here Maya?"

His voice sounded calm, but i could feel tension in his body. We were only a foot apart and i was finding it difficult to breathe.
