YOU CAN SEE ME, RIGHT

Just like the previous years. Another year passed in a flash.

But unlike every year, I wasn't hoping to see my family. I hoped to see that boy. I wish to prove to my friends that he can see me.

"When will you stop, Earth?" I recognised the voice but I ignored it.

"You are only hurting yourself the more and the people around you" The person murmured, his voice sounding hurt.

"I don't care...I don't have any peace of mind here ok...I just need to find out something, is that too much?" I countered back and faced him "Arthur and Dan do not mind at all, then why you uh?" I interrogated him. For the past years, he has been acting weird around me. "I know you care about me but isn't it a bit...too much?" I quirked my brows at him.

"Earth I am just looking after you, that's it...you don't have to be cold to me" He tried to touch my hair but I disappeared and appeared beside him.

"Now you are using what I taught you against me...how nice!" He cried sarcastically.

"I don't like your touch" I professed and felt him freeze. His indigo eyes look restless for some unknown reason.

"Earth, i...I like....."

My eyes caught a glimpse of what I have been waiting for. Excitedly, I blurted "He is here". I discerned my namesake was saying something, so I asked "What did you say?".

"Nothing...so he is the boy?" He queried and I wag my head like a baby.

"Yes, he is and I will prove to you that he can see me" I proudly told him but he raised his brows and folded his arms and sarcastically muttered "I want to see if you are bluffing or reasonable"

Raising my chin high up, I cried "You will see". I noticed the boy and sighed. He has grown quite well. Unlike before, he was with two other boys. I glance at Earth and saw him smirk at me. Annoyed, I disappeared and appeared right in front of the boy.

"Hey..." Before I completed my statement, the boy trudged wearily through me.

What happened?

I oscillated my head and restlessly ran to him.

"Hey, don't you remember me?"

"Hey don't ignore me, please"

The boy didn't bother to hear me as he left. I AM TOTALLY SPEECHLESS. Is he ignoring me deliberately or he really can't see me?. So they were right, I have been fooling myself. Feeling gloomy, I went back to my tomb and sighed.

"I told you...why do you like getting yourself hurt?" Earth sat by my side and abruptly embraced me. I pouted my lips in aggravation.

"Don't I have a family?" I enquired from him. He shook his head and whispered "of course, everybody has blood relations even the wildlife creatures" I snuggled around his bosom and exhaled deeply.

"Then why hasn't anyone come? If only I remembered them" I cried.

"Dan...can anyone believe there is really nothing going on between them? Just look at their affectionate cuddling...I feel like getting one" Hearing that buffalo's shameless words, I broke the hug and loured at him.

"Arthur think preliminary when you speak...have you ever learned that?"

"Why don't you shove your face to my ass...maybe then I will learn?" The flagrant man blurted out without thinking again. Maybe he needs to be taught a lesson. I smiled wickedly and ceased to be visible. In my invisible self, I hauled the lad's trousers down and strikes his ass with my foot and then reappeared behind Dan.

"You sly fox!! Manoeuvring what I tutored you against me" Arthur yelled as he wore his trousers back "You ought to at least show your handsome teacher a bit of respect"

'Handsome my foot' I thought.

"Hahahahahaha...I can't believe Earth did that. Instead of a shoved face, you got a nice kick" Dan chuckled loudly.

"You!!" Arthur snapped stormily. He approached the man but he disappeared. He wanted to approach me but I too disappeared.

3rd Person POV

On the other side of the cemetery.

The boy stopped and turned around. His lips curved upward when he saw that thrilling moment.

"Hey, Pete, why did you stop? Aunty's grave is over there" One of the two boys inquired. The other boy was gulping hard at his surrounding. He shifted his body closer to his friends for fear of a ghost taking him away.

"Pete, this place is freaking me out...go pleased" He murmured like it was his last breath. "I can't take it anymore" He screeched and sprinted off.

"Ghooooooooooooooooooosssssssssssssssst"

"Look now we only have each other...that loser is gone. Wait, is this your plan? To have me alone with you....well you are truly smart" The ten-year-old admired.

Pete scowled with a look of disgust and left to his mother's grave.

"In your dreams!!'.

..............................................................................

In the afternoon, I plopped myself down on my usual spot languidly. Nothing to do, just feel dull as I watched other crypts being festooned by their family. I can't lie if someone asked if I wasn't upset. Hell, I am. The tomb close to mine always had a lot of persons, even today and that made me sadder. I have no one. Furthermore, I don't recollect who I am or my family either.

I woke up one day and found myself in this cemetery. I also don't recollect dying. All I know is that I was attracted to a grave until I finally understood it was mine.

The exact reason why I am persistent about someone in my family coming here is that I want to know the cause of my death. I couldn't possibly die like that, right? Something must have gone wrong.

"This desolated grave again, come on...you've got to be kidding me"

I turned my head to the voice. I saw the previous boy and a friend of his. My eyes phosphoresce for some reason and my eyelids kept blinking. My dispirited self ebbed, pronto.

"Just shut up and hand me an incense stick" I heard the green-eyed boy tell the other guy, who looked a bit disconcerted.

"Why do you need one? Are you going to lit it for that thing there? If uncle finds out about this...we are both dead meat" I blinked my eyes at the boy. What did he mean?

"If you don't hand me the damn stick, I will feed you to that hungry dog over there" I followed the boy's pointed finger and noticed the weird animal by the other tomb. My heart almost stopped when I understood his words. Will he do that? To that innocent kid.

I am still surprised as to why he was in my tomb.

"No wonder uncle wants to make you the leader...you heartless guy" The other boy hissed before he brought out a stick from the pack in his hand and handed it over to the green-eyed boy.

What is that stick and why is the boy coming towards me?.

The hope I had lost came back when I saw him look right in my eyes. My first thought was 'Did he see me?'

'Can he see me?' I mused. My brain was muddled up.

I shook my head and focused my mind on whatever the boy was going to do with the stick. He stopped right in front of my name carved on the tomb and read it out. For some reason, my heart shook in excitement.

For the first time after 16 years, someone came. Though he is not my family.

"May your soul rest in peace" His cold distant yet calm voice entered my ear. He just paid me respect.

My goodness, I can't wait to tell the others.

"Are you done? Now hurry and let's leave...Sam and the guards are waiting" The other boy yelled. With pouted lips, I glared at the boy and sneered.

Why is he in such a hurry? They just got here... I don't want the green-eyed boy to leave. I feel he can see me.

I turned my gaze to the boy and saw him smile. Why did he smile?

"Why are you in such a hurry uh...you are beginning to become a nuisance in my life, Stud?" The green-eyed yelled back and I could not help but nod my head in agreement.

That's right. I smiled.

The other boy who I assume must be Stud frowned in disbelief. He glared back at the green-eyed boy before groaning "Just like Sam, I am weary of this place...and I don't like the unhygienic smell it is bringing out"

My eyes flew out in dissatisfaction and chagrin. My tomb isn't that bad. It smells all right to me and who is he to say that it smells awful?.

I threw cold glares at him and looked at the green-eyed boy, who was already on his feet. What if he is disgusted too?

I sadly pouted my lips and sniffed the surroundings but it smells good.

"If you feel this place smells like shit, why don't you...SCAM!!!?" The green-eyed boy said somewhat piqued since the temple of his head was knitted.

"I am not leaving this place without you" Stud crossed his arms around his chest as he glared at the green-eyed boy.

"You are impossible" I turned my gaze back to the green-eyed boy with a huge smile carved on my face but that smile soon fell when he said "All right, let's leave"

I feel uneasy in my body when he walked up to Stud. Don't leave, please.

"Hey boys, don't go" I cried. Abruptly, the boy stopped and turned around. I saw him wink before turning back around to leave.

He saw me...he really can see me if not why did he wink. He couldn't be winking at the birds right? The only logical reason is that it is me he winked.

I receded in the view from my grave and appeared beside the boy. I tried to touch his hand but it entered through his body. That didn't matter.

"You can see me, right?" I asked but got to reply. He was walking away with his friend but I still followed him.

"Tell me, you saw me...when you winked, it was for me, right?" My eyes brightened as I inquired but the boy still was mute.

Why isn't he talking? I am so sure he saw me. Why is he pretending now?.

Before he realised it, we were at the exit of the cemetery. The boy and his friend got out but when I tried to, a force pulled me back in. I did it again but to no avail. I helplessly watched the boys enter a car.

Stymied, I evaporated and emerged in front of my friends in front of a sapling.
