CHAPTER 18: TIME IS RUNNING

Dale’s POV

I couldn’t muster up the courage to face her after I lied so I decided not to go in and just leave instead. It’s not a good idea to show up, it might stress her more. Besides, Ken will surely look after her.

I took a cab heading home until I received a call.

“Hello? Who’s this---”

“We need to settle whatever misunderstanding we have. Let's meet”

From the way the woman from the other side speaks, I can tell she’s Stacey.

“How did you get my number?”

“Doesn’t matter. Meet me”

“I’m not in the mood now. Can you give me a break?”

“Tomorrow. I’ll text you the address”

She hangs up the call. I wanted to explode and turn all my frustrations to her but every time I think she’s Zae’s girlfriend, I just can’t. I don’t want Zae to be mad at me for mistreating the person she loved after I took over her body and life.

[CAR BRAKES]

“What the--- what happened?!”

The car took a snappy brake and I almost dived in front.

“Someone crossed the street. I have to stop or else I’ll hit the woman”
