After sitting and pondering about her new life for a while, Amaya decided to take a bath instead of idly sitting and waiting for Damian to come, she walked up to the door on the left which she had assumed was the door earlier, opening it she saw a brand new room, this room had an infinite amount of clothes, bags and shoes which all seemed were from high class designer brands, she was in so much awe of what was before her eyes, walking down she found a section in glass casings laid the most beautiful collection of jewelry she had seen, her father owned a jewelry brand so of course she knew high quality jewelry and this was high-end, they all looked so polished and fragile, sets of the most expensive precious stones, the apparent walk in closet was big enough to open a high class million dollar store and finally she noticed another door and finally this was the bathroom, even the bathroom looked luxurious it had everything a set of body care lotions and soaps, and everything ranging from body care to haircare with so many options to pick from, the bath tub basically sparkled, the shower station was luxurious too, the lit up mirror showed a perfect reflection of luxury and class.

Amaya took off her clothes picked the right products and took a hot and relaxing bath, getting dressed up in the comfiest pajamas she could find, picked up a random book, tried reading and then drifted off to sleep. A shuffling sound woke her up but when she opened her eyes there was no one there, she was sure felt someone’s presence, getting up to check around her and out the door but there was no one in the hallway either, oh well maybe it was her imagination.

By evening Doris had come to get Amaya downstairs for dinner ‘’Madam dinner is ready downstairs, please come’’ Doris said standing at the door ‘’I’ll be there in a minute, where’s Damian?’’ Amaya asked ‘’He’s not home madam’’ Doris answered ‘’oh’’ Amaya said more to herself ‘’I’ll be down in a bit then’’ Amaya finally closed off and Doris turned to leave.

He still wasn’t home and for some reason this made her heart sink, why wasn’t he home, was he really so uninterested in her, He wasn’t the least bothered about their wedding or even meeting her, well if he didn’t care to meet her, she didn’t care either, she wasn’t interested in getting married to him anyway.

Amaya walked downstairs in her pajamas as carefree as ever, meet a few maids lined up and waiting in the dining area including Doris, at first she was surprised and then remembered how extravagant everything in this house was, the dinning set was a rectangular glass structure it could take a up to 20 sitters. Although this didn’t surprise her she still wondered why Damian always had extra of everything, did he always have guests or was he just dramatic anyways looking closely at the table she noticed so many dishes had been prepared and set, she couldn’t help but ask ,‘’Doris is there an occasion or will more people be joining me’?’ ‘’No madam, this is just for you ‘’ Doris answered politely her head still bowed, it was then Amaya noticed these servants never spoke except their heads were bowed ‘’oh I see now, you’re trying to fatten me up right’’ Amaya said trying to lighten up the mood but didn’t receive even a smile but just silence, hence she gave up and picked a random chair.

Amaya was tired and hungry so did eat a lot, after dinner she asked Doris to share the rest among the servants and nothing should go to waste, tiredly threaded up the stairs and basically passed out in bed.

Amaya woke up still tired, this was weird but she hadn’t really slept since the news of her wedding, she just tossed around in bed thinking of ways to get out of her new predicament but now there was nothing she could do so of course she slept and she did sleep well.

Feeling tired Amaya decided to get a few more hours of sleep and by the time she woke up, she was happy and refreshed, checking the time it was already passed two. Amaya jumped out of bed and straight to the bathroom got ready and texted Kelly ‘’I’m so sorry darling, I kinda overslept, I’ll be there in a minute’’.

Practically running downstairs, Amaya almost bumped into Doris ‘’oh-oh sorry darling I’m in a bit of a rush I’m really sorry, I’ll be back later darling, bye’’ Amaya said almost mumbling and rushing out the door a car waiting on standby for her.

‘’What do you mean your husband did NOT attend his own wedding’’ Kelly crossed her arms and leveled me with a disapproving look ‘’This is some new level of disrespect, darling your parents really got you an arranged marriage and to some proud, spoilt rich billionaire and in the span of such a short time’’

‘’they did exactly that but you know what I am not going to worry about a man who doesn’t think I’m worth it, I’m just going to live my life and continue with my plans and besides I wasn’t planning in the whole spending my life with a random person but this is a plus I guess’’ Amaya said ‘’ oh really? A Plus, I would have gone for a more romantic outlook but okay, I was hoping it’d be like the romance novels, you know forced marriage, they fall in love and blah blah but we don’t even get to see this guy’’ Kelly said ‘’well I don’t really care I’m happy I get to keep working’’ Amaya replied ‘’Yes miss workaholic Barrister’’ Kelly said in a mocking tone

‘’How about you, how’s work, no new runways or contracts? ‘’ Amaya asked, well work is same, same producer fashion competition shenanigans, I need a break honestly, a vacation or something I’ve been thinking of maybe Italy or even the Bahamas’’ Kelly said rather excited now ‘’you’re literally always on vacation Kelly’’ Amaya said in an amused tone, well work is toxic and prioritize my peace and mental health’’ Kelly lightly defended.

‘’Yes young miss’’ Amaya replied playfully bowing her head with her hand on her chest trying hard to throwback a giggle

‘’would you young ladies prefer tea or coffee’’ A young handsome waiter asked ‘’Tea please’’ Amaya replied ‘’Coffee but you’re fine too’’ Kelly said with a sheepish smile

‘’oh-o-er-okay ma’am’’ the waiter

timidly replied and hurried away, as soon as the waiter got far away both ladies erupted into laughter. ‘’poor man, he looked so confused why do you always do things like this’’ Amaya said amidst laughter ‘’did you see his cheeks turn red, he definitely enjoyed it too’’ Kelly replied ‘’yea yea sure whatever’’ Amaya said now giving an amused look.

  • BOUND BY DECEIT    The aftermath

The storm broke again that night.Thunder rolled over the hills like a warning, and the rain came harder than before, washing away every trace of what had happened at the airstrip. But no amount of rain could wash away the image from Amaya’s mind—Nancy collapsing, the sound of the gunshot echoing through the air, Damian’s face right after. He hadn’t said a word since they left Florence. Not when Kelly drove them through the countryside. Not when Amaya pressed a bandage against her arm. Not even when she whispered his name softly, trying to pull him back. The silence between them wasn’t anger—it was heavy, unspoken guilt.Kelly pulled into a secluded motel near Siena, its neon sign flickering weakly in the rain. “This is the safest I could find on short notice,” she said, glancing back at them. “No security cameras, no nosy neighbors, no questions.”Damian nodded absently. “Good.”Amaya looked at Kelly. “You’ll stay, right?”Kelly shook her head. “I’ll circle back to make sure the area

  • BOUND BY DECEIT    The chase begins

The next morning broke with a quiet unease that neither of them could ignore. The rain had stopped sometime during the night, but the air still felt heavy, the sky a pale gray sheet pressing down on the world. Amaya stood by the kitchen window, coffee in hand, watching droplets roll down the glass. Her reflection looked strange—stronger, older somehow. Maybe that was what love and survival did to a person.Behind her, Damian was already dressed, his dark jacket fitted, his movements deliberate. Every motion of his hands—loading the gun, adjusting the strap of his watch—was calm, precise, controlled. Too controlled.“You didn’t sleep,” Amaya said without turning around. He gave a small grunt. “Neither did you.”She turned, offering a half-smile. “Touché.”He finally looked at her, and for a moment, something soft flickered behind his eyes. “You don’t have to come, Amaya.”She sighed, setting down her mug. “We’re not doing that again, Damian. I’m in this. Until the end.”He walked close

  • BOUND BY DECEIT    The calm before the final storm

The morning after the chaos felt unreal. The sunlight was warm, almost too gentle compared to the night before. For the first time in what felt like forever, Amaya woke up without fear gripping her chest. The safe house was quiet, except for the steady rhythm of her heartbeat and the faint rustle of curtains swaying in the soft breeze.Damian was standing near the window, shirtless, his back to her. His shoulders looked tense, like he was still carrying the weight of everything that had happened. She sat up slowly, watching him, her heart twisting. Even in the light, he looked like a man haunted by shadows.“Couldn’t sleep?” she asked quietly. He didn’t turn around immediately. “Not really,” he said after a pause. “There’s too much on my mind.”She slid out of bed and padded toward him, the wooden floor cool under her bare feet. “You’ve been protecting everyone else,” she said softly. “When’s the last time you let someone protect you?”That made him glance over his shoulder, eyes tire

  • BOUND BY DECEIT    Heart of the storm

The night was restless, heavy with an electric tension that pressed against Amaya’s chest. Even the city seemed to hold its breath, the usual hum of traffic muted under the threat of what they knew was coming. Damian had been silent for most of the evening, his mind clearly racing, plotting their next move against Nancy. Amaya watched him from the dim light of the safe house, noting the furrow of his brows, the tight set of his jaw. She wanted to reach out, to tell him that she was with him no matter what—but the storm outside mirrored the storm in her heart.“Damian,” she whispered, stepping closer to him. “Talk to me. What’s going on in that head of yours?”He didn’t look at her immediately, but when he finally did, his dark eyes softened, betraying the intensity of his concern. “Amaya… tonight isn’t just another operation. Nancy has planned something bigger than we imagined. This is the heart of the storm.”Her stomach clenched at his words. “The heart of the storm?” she repeated,

  • BOUND BY DECEIT    Secrets unveiled

The first rays of dawn spilled through the blinds, casting the safe house in a soft golden glow. Amaya stirred in the bed, the weight of the past few days heavy on her shoulders. Her muscles ached, her mind was clouded, yet beneath it all, a strange sense of satisfaction lingered. They had disrupted Nancy’s operations, survived the confrontation, and grown stronger together—but Amaya knew that the real battle had only just begun.Damian was already awake, moving quietly around the room. He glanced at her occasionally, his dark eyes softened by concern and something else—something deeper, more intimate. There was an unspoken connection between them now, one forged in shared danger and trust.“You’re awake,” he said quietly, approaching the bed. His voice was low, calm, yet edged with that commanding presence that always made her heart skip.“I couldn’t sleep,” Amaya admitted, stretching and rubbing the sleep from her eyes. “Too many thoughts, too many… secrets.”Damian knelt beside her

  • BOUND BY DECEIT    The turning point

The morning sun broke through the curtains, casting a warm golden glow over the safe house. Despite the light, Amaya couldn’t shake the tension from the previous night. Shadows still lingered in her mind—the memory of Nancy’s eyes, the operatives’ aggression, the pulse-pounding adrenaline of the confrontation. She sat at the kitchen counter, sipping tea, trying to calm her racing thoughts. Damian moved around her with quiet efficiency, preparing breakfast, yet his eyes never left her for long. There was a new edge to him, a sharpness born from survival and strategy, but softened by the tenderness he reserved for her.“You’re too quiet this morning,” Damian observed, setting a plate of toast and eggs in front of her.Amaya forced a smile. “Just thinking,” she replied, her voice steady but her mind still replaying every moment from the previous night.Damian sat across from her, studying her. “Thinking is fine,” he said softly, “but overthinking is dangerous. You need to focus on what w
