Alina’s POV

His eyes finally sharpened. The Alpha was paying attention now.

Lucian leaned back in his seat, one brow lifted, searching my face as if it was some battlefield map he was trying to read. “You don’t sound sure.”

“I am,” I replied. Then added, “But on one condition.”

His fingers slowly laced together in front of him, and he said nothing, but the air changed.

He was listening.

And he was waiting.

“You accept the condition and we're back to our initial agreement."

“You want to give me a condition,” he repeated, leaning back with that taunting smirk etched across his lips, “after the stunt you pulled yesterday?”

His voice was a slow, biting drawl that felt like sandpaper across my nerves.

I didn’t flinch. “Yes,” I said, my chin lifted, voice even.

Lucian leaned forward, elbows planted on the desk, fingers laced like he was some twisted king entertaining a fool’s request.

“And what makes you think you’re in a position to give me a condition?”

I met his gaze, unwavering. “Beca

Lucian's POV I hadn’t intended to kiss her again. Not when she had been hot and cold from the first kiss. Not when I could still hear the echo of her moan that had shut Sabrina and the rest up and sent them away from the door. Not when I knew it had already worked. But hell, I just didn’t know why, I wanted to taste her again.Maybe it was the curiosity, or something darker I didn’t want to name. Whatever it was, I leaned in, brushing my lips against hers again. Softly this time. Tasting. Just one more. She didn’t push away. Not even a flinch. And that sent a pulse straight through my chest. My fingers twitched at my side.Then…Clara.Her face flashed in my mind like a curse. My lungs clenched. My eyes opened, and the ceiling suddenly felt like it was falling.I pulled away. Fast. Like I had been burned.I stayed still, chest heaving slightly, trying to pull myself back together. She blinked at me. Her chest rose and fell, lips parted slightly. "Why... did you do that?""I just...

Alina’s POV I scoffed, glaring at him like I wanted my eyes to peel his skin. "You pervert."His smile remained fixed, unbothered, as if my insult was the soft breeze of a fan against a wall of stone. I punched him in the chest with all the force my knotted nerves could summon. My knuckles ached from the impact, but he didn't even flinch. Not even a twitch. His heart must be carved from granite. Still grinning, still smug, as if I were an amusing little storm barely shaking his weathered mountain.I shoved at him again, harder this time, but instead of giving way, he pressed in. Like a wolf reclaiming his space, he blocked me, shunning me without lifting a finger."I just want you to get quiet," he muttered.I blinked. "What?"He gestured toward the door with his chin. "They're out there. And they won't leave until they hear... something."My brows pulled together. "Some noise?"He nodded, eyes gleaming with mischief. "You know the kind. The kind that sounds like I'm..." His gaze

Alina’s POV The days blurred together like ink smeared on wet parchment. One moment, I was dreading this union. Next, I was standing in front of a ceremonial altar for our marriage, hands bound in red silk as the final words of the Luna Binding were uttered. And just like that, I became the Luna of the Alpha of Hell. The ceremony wasn’t small, yet oddly enough, not all the Alphas of the city attended. Their absence lingered like whispers in the shadows. Fear? Loathe? Perhaps both. But Lucian didn’t seem to care. In fact, he looked like he was enjoying the theatrics more than me, his mouth fixed in a near-smirk the entire time like he was acting out some grand victory.Ritual after ritual, vows cloaked in blood oaths and flame sigils. We weren’t just pronounced bonded, we were sealed. It was sacred, and exhausting.I never got a moment to breathe, to scowl at Lucian for dragging me through this hell. I smiled until my cheeks hurt. I nodded at elders I didn’t know. I held Lucian’s ha

Alina's POVBy the time I reached my room, I only then realized I’d been holding my breath since storming out of Lucian’s chambers. The air rushed out of my lungs like I had just escaped a collapsing building. I leaned against the door, pressing it shut with my back, as if it were the only thing keeping his memory from clawing its way back in with blood-stained hands. How won’t I fucking be on edge? That jerk wiped out a family, or so I thought, and nearly did it in front of me like it was just another chore in his day. After hearing Lily’s trembling warnings of his beast mode, I’d been walking on a tightrope stretched over hellfire. The tension hadn’t left me, not in my legs, not in my spine, and definitely not in the knot curling at the pit of my stomach. When Lucian grabbed me earlier, I swore my heart stopped. The fire in his eyes wasn’t just rage. It was feral. Untamed. Like a wolf with no conscience. I’d stood up to him, foolishly, maybe, but I wasn’t fearless. Far from it.

Lucian’s POV I was still heated, my blood thrumming through my veins like war drums as I left the heat room. Rage clung to me like smoke. Every breath I drew was tight, sharp, the kind that carved your lungs with invisible blades.“Clean it up,” I growled to the Gammas as I passed. They stood straighter, their voices in unison.“Yes, Alpha.”The stench of blood followed me like a shadow, even as I stepped into the quieter halls. The walls didn’t echo with screams, but they echoed with memory. My boots made heavy contact with the polished floors as I strode toward my chambers.Once inside, I jammed the door close behind me. I pulled a cigarette from the wooden box on the table, lit it, and brought it to my lips. The first drag cooled nothing inside me. I blew the smoke toward the ceiling and clenched my jaw, Alina’s face burning through my thoughts. That damned look of defiance in her eyes. Like she could tame me. Like I was hers to bend. The door burst open like thunder cracking. Cad
