I left Salvatore’s office with the leather folder clutched to my chest. Heat lingered along my arms, faint but insistent, as if he hadn’t fully stepped away.

I moved fast, skirting the desk before he could close the distance again. He was already taking a step towards me.

The door shut behind me with a soft click. The office felt smaller after the door closed. My shoulder stayed tight.

I wanted to wait. For the moment Sofia would be back to knock. To see her in her vulnerable state.

  • BOUND TO THE WRONG SISTER    76-Caleb

[ IRIS’S POV ] The bus window was cold against my forehead. Outside, the world was a blur of green trees and busy roads. I watched the city, my home, my pain, fade away until it was just a small smudge on the horizon. For the first time in my life, I didn't have a Russo guard behind me or a Moretti shadow following me. I was just a girl on a bus. I leaned back into the hard plastic seat. My bag was heavy on my lap, filled with the few things I had managed to grab and the cash I had taken from Salvatore’s drawer. My heart was still thumping, a steady thump-thump that felt like a drum. I was tired, but I couldn't sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Salvatore’s face. And I saw Sofia’s angry eyes. I took a deep breath. The air in the bus smelled like old leather and diesel fumes. Hours passed. The sun began to dip low, turning the sky into a bruised purple. The bus finally pulled into a small town I had never heard of. It was quiet here. The air felt different, thicker, smellin

  • BOUND TO THE WRONG SISTER    75-The location

[ SOFIA’S POV ]The VIP room at All Stars felt like a furnace. I wasn't scared. For the first time after all the engagement chaos, I felt a rush of pure, raw excitement. I was happy. My heart was thumping in my chest, not because of the danger, but because I was finally going to get a D** in my starving V**. I wanted to feel something powerful. I wanted a man to take control, and I wanted to use that moment to lock Sandy into this deal forever."He’s here," Sandy whispered. Her voice was shaking, but she was smiling. She turned on the camera. The little red light started blinking, watching us. I looked at the lens and felt a thrill go down my spine. This is going to be our secret. A weapon we can decide to use against each other. There was a firm knock on the door. Sandy opened it, and the man stepped inside. He wasn't wearing a suit. He was tall and muscular, wearing only a pair of loose black gym shorts that hung low on his hips. His chest was broad, covered in hard muscle that cau

  • BOUND TO THE WRONG SISTER    74-Sandy

[ SOFIA’S POV ]I turned, my hand already hovering over the clutch where my gun lay hidden. Sitting there, legs crossed with an air of cold confidence, was Sandy. The air in the VIP suite suddenly felt thin. Sandy wasn’t just anyone; she was the daughter of the Morettis’ lead lawyer. She knew where the bodies were buried because her father was the one who made the legal paperwork disappear."This must be a trap," I snapped, my eyes darting to the corners of the room, looking for a camera, a wire, or a hidden Mira waiting to pounce. "What’s the meaning of this, Sandy? Since when do the Moretti lap dogs invite me for drinks?"Sandy didn't blink. She just tilted her head, a mocking glint in her eyes. "Don’t tell me you’re scared of the bitch, Sofia Russo.""I’m not scared of anyone," I hissed, stepping further into the room to mask my shaking hands. "I just want to know the game you’re playing."Sandy stood up slowly, her silk dress rustling in the quiet room. She walked toward me with t

[ SOFIA’S POV ]The sunlight was stabbing at my eyes, but the ringing of my phone was what really woke me up. I groaned, reaching for the nightstand, my head still fuzzy from the cognac and the nightmare of Mira’s voice. I checked the screen. Esther."Hi girl," I said, my voice thick with sleep. I tried to sit up, rubbing my face."Girlfriend, check the news!" Esther’s voice was high-pitched, almost frantic. "Check what’s trending right now. Like, right this second!"The sleep vanished instantly. I jumped up on the bed, my heart racing so hard I could feel it in my throat. My first thought was the video. Has Mira done it? Had she finally decided to humiliate me and show the world that night with the four men?"Is it... is it about me?" I whispered, my hands shaking as I reached for my iPad."Just look, Sofia! It’s everywhere!"I logged into Instagram, my fingers fumbling over the screen. I expected to see my own shame staring back at me. Instead, my eyes went wide. My father’s face wa

  • BOUND TO THE WRONG SISTER    72-The assassins

[ SOFIA’S POV ] I let out a shaky breath, forcing a tear to spill over. "They’re gone, Father. All of them." "Gone?" He slammed his glass onto the desk. "How? Mira Moretti is a girl! How did she take down thirty armed men?" "It wasn't just Mira," I lied, my voice dropping to a terrified whisper. "She was the bait. The moment we stepped inside, the lights went out. And then he stepped out of the shadows. Salvatore. He was there himself, Father. And Michael was with him." Father froze. The name Salvatore always made the room feel smaller. "Salvatore was at a distribution warehouse?" Father hissed, his grip tightening on the edge of the table. "He was waiting for us," I continued, gaining confidence in the lie. "He didn't even use guns at first. He and Michael... They moved like a beast. They mocked us. Salvatore told me to tell you that he’s tired of playing games with children. He said if you send me again, he won't let me leave." Father’s face turned a dark, ugly shade of red.

[ IRIS’S POV ]I stood outside the sunroom—the room Salvatore had turned into his fortress. He had told me never to enter without him. He had told me the door was coded. But I spent years watching the world from the shadows, and I knew how to look for things people didn’t want found. I had watched

[ IRIS’ POV ]I left my room quietly. The door closed behind me with a soft click, but my heart was loud in my chest. The hallway stretched ahead. [ IRIS’S POV ]The morning arrived quickly. The breakfast room looked the same, sunlight spilling across polished marble, silverware aligned with obsessive care, but everything else felt off. [ IRIS’S POV ]I chose the dress carefully. Not because the occasion demanded it, the flowers didn’t care about what I wore, but because something in me did. The pale-blue fabric felt cool against my skin, light enough to breathe in. It cinched slightly at my waist. The straps were thin, leaving my
