Cody's Pov
_________ The apple of her father's eyes staring back at me with those eyes that could enslave a man and it hurt to be the only part of her that I could see. I shouldn't let go of that gaze, but she wasn't my bride. Lumi was. And that plan might have changed today if Kaliya hadn't been bought by the moon, already. Of course, I would use the word 'bought' as this decision to stay without a man never came with her consent. She was little and didn't even know what gender was when she was marked. It was inconsiderate of her parent to accept such a ridiculous term. How could they want their daughter to be the savior of the wolves, how could they deprive her of something so ripe and flavored like - sexual demons? I want to rewrite her innocence. "And Day one…poof!" Lou sank into the couch in the main living room when we got back. We had rented out the biggest suite in the North for the wedding which Akkar had offered to pay for, but why did I need the boy's money? Kings do not fall. The Southern hierarchy outweighed the Northerns and I will not rub off my esteem for a mere Alpha. "To think we still have months to go…the Northern culture is barbaric" Clinton had helped himself with the row of alcohol at the bar. "All these for a girl you're not attracted to" Lou roared with laughter and Clinton joined him. I sucked in my teeth, tapping my feet on the ground as I glared at them. "Fuck you, Lumi looks good enough to be laid…" "…by someone else" I muttered these words to myself. "Well, she's just like your other dream walkers," Lou remarked. 'Nothing special…" Clinton added. "You know what's special, Cody?" His brows arched and his cheekbone lifted in a wicked grin. "Come on, he knows the answer too" Lou punched Clinton on the shoulder, and they made a friendly handshake. I sat upright on the couch, facing my two buddies. "I am glad we are on the same page." "We can see right through you, Your Majesty" he teased. "Do not mistake her for your own…" "Technically, she is Akkar's daughter…" Clinton defended. "Right." I instantly agreed. "In the real sense, she, Kaliya, should be mine." My stomach knotted at the statement I made. Clearly, my demon desired her as much as I did, and the word 'mine' triggered its response. "Well, I had expected that you treat her father the 'Cody way' when he slapped off your palm from his daughter's" Lou frowned. "That man is bold." Clinton disgustingly uttered. "How could he forget that he is meant to bow to you? This was a pact and you had fulfilled your side of the deal…" "And now he gets aggressive because he had intentionally played you by giving you Lumi." "No one can play me." I corrected, not giving them a chance to think that anyone - ugh, even the Northerners, could trick me. "I have Akkar just right where I want him. I always know what to do" I shot them a warning glare, marking my eminence. "So, did you beat his ass in private?" "Did you rip his balls?" "I did warn him-" "Warn?" "We're just in the first phase." I rested on the armchair, slightly closing my eyes. The flash image of his daughter filled my head, the urge to rip every piece of clothing and glove off her body. "I want Kaliya" I muttered. Meeting their eyes again, I continued. "Akkar would pay for breaking his deal. The daughter he cherishes so much would be wrapped under my legs" "She's the Virgin of the Moon." "Then that makes me the filthy king of the sun" They chorused in laughter. "From what I heard, she's a hard nut to crack." "But I always get what I want…" "She could be an exception. It could be rumors, but there are grave consequences for messing with that girl. Don't give it a chance.." I scoffed, walking to the bar to take a glass of drink. "Not even the purest of hearts, can resist me." I gulped down the raw liquor, feeling a brief sharp pang in my chest. "I'll make this happen. Trust me" "Oh, we know that. You have never failed to get anything you want, My Lord." "All you need to do is watch while I break Kaliya's innocence into bits my bits." "What's your initial plan?" "I do not have one…" I smirked. "But I bet her voice would be as beautiful as her eyes looked." "You'll get her to talk?" "She has to…" "She has never spoken to any man except her daddy." "Well, not my words…" I scraped my fingers on the tip of the glass. " -but…daddy could mean different…things" "Oh, Cody" Lou placed his palm on his face while Clinton continued laughing. "The Northern girls fear us, and we are about to prove them right by ruining our reputation, again" "Speak for yourself, I only want a pretty girl to feed on." "Unfortunately for us, we don't get one. These girls wouldn't even take a look at us. You meet a girl and she snarls at you…" "You're double the age of these weenies, I expect that their strategies wouldn't trick you. You're a demon, Lou" I touched his shoulders. "You have the power to penetrate and manipulate their thoughts." I looked at him and gave a wink. "While we are here for my wedding, you both should make good use of your time and power. Women back home are ready to give us all we want, so why not play a game with these pretty hard-to-get Northerners" "You know what? You're right." "As I always am" I walked away from the living room, leaving Clinton and Lou to ponder over what I had fed them. My mission here wasn't only to get Lumi and seal my pact with Akkar, there was one more person I had to keep.Lumi's PovWhen the letter came to me, I had asked them to keep it in my room and I did not touch it at all. I didn't want to hear things from the North. Why were they reaching out to me?When the problem started over there, it was against my consent. Now they do not expect me to be available when the dilemma arises. As I walked toward my room at night, looking for Cody, I met Lou on the way. A smile curled on my lips. He was the only reason my mental health was still functioning."You're here," I said, he was never in this area."Yes. I figured I would apologize to Cody." He said.I frowned. "He doesn't deserve it""You think so, but he is my ruler here, a long-time friend and this should not drag on for too long"I sighed, moving close to me as I held his hand. "I should say I am sorry first, you did all this because of me.""It's okay. I broke our code because I wanted to." He squeezed my hand. "Cody should be in his study room. I'll tell you how it goes." He smiled.I smiled too.
kaliya————-A sudden shriek woke me up from sleep, everywhere was dark and I was laying on my bed drenched in sweat, what was going on? I asked myself as I got up from my bed using my hand to guide myself towards my door, I heard the shriek again and my heart jumped as panic sets in.“What’s happening?” I yelled, finding the door i pulled it open and came to meet bright light in the hallway. There was light in the hallway why was my room dark? I thought as I rubbed the wall searching for my switch and when my hand came in infact with it I turned on the light, okay that was one thing settled, what about the noise?.I quickly rushed towards the direction it was coming from and it led me to the throne room, my father was awake and infront of him stood three women and two men, the men were half naked wearing nothing to cover their chest.“What is going on?” I asked as I walked straight towards my father, he looked at me and sighed.“I think the south have gained entrance to our lands”“T
Cody's Pov-----"Remain there" I ordered when he tried coming close to me.His brows slightly curved downward. "I have only come to give you the city news""Let Clinton do the reading." I snapped and Lou wasn't pleased with that statement."Are you stripping me of my duties?" He blurted."Not yet. But close. If you interfere one more time in the things you have no business in."He nodded and walked away from me to give the letter to Clinton and sat on the couch he stood up from, unable to pass his rage on anyone, he kept it within his scrunched face.Clinton approached me with the letter and ruffled the paper open as his eyes danced around the words in it. "Oh fuck!" He cursed. "Cody, you need to see this""That is why you are here to read it!" I blurted. His eyes scanned hurriedly again. "The incubi from downtown have all escaped." He uttered. "Escaped?""Yes. To the North." "To the North?" I jumped off of my seat. "What do you mean?" I shot my glance at him, but he seemed he was
Kaliya's Pov—————-'Find a way to get to her, apologize for your wrongdoings' My father's words stuck to my head and I lay back at the temple, in my wolf form, the most natural form I could be in front of the goddess."Please, goddess. Let me hear you" I whispered for the hundredth time, but it again, I shifted back into my human form and bleed from my nose. It hurt and it seemed unstoppable the more I mentioned the goddess. But I wouldn't stop. I could not. Not after all that was happening. "I am sorry, goddess of the Moon. Please, have mercy on your people" I cried out with a weak voice. I had been doing this for the course but it seemed to have no effect. "I have failed you, I know. I have humiliated myself, I apologize, goddess.""You were once pure, Kaliya," The goddess' voice was like thunder, filling the temple. "My favorite, my loyal companion. But now...now you're tainted."I whimpered, my wolf ears flat against my head."You allowed yourself to be defiled," She continued,
Cody’s pov———————-I was back at the south, my mind troubled from having to leave Kaliya the way I did.Lou and Lumi were by the corner having a heated argument and Clinton just still watching them, my presence had not been known so they all continued what they were doing until Lumi glanced in my direction.“You!” She screamed coming towards me with anger, I remained where I was ready to take whatever it is she was going to dish at me.“Why? You still haven’t told me why!!” She said poking at my chest, Lou came to stand behind her and I frowned, but then I didn’t have time for him just yet.“Whatever you think this is is not what happened, it was not kaliyas fault it was mine, more like ours” I said and she frowned dropping her hand. There were tears gathering in her eyes and I saw Lou clench his fist, just what was his problem ? I thought to myself.“I know my sister would never do such to me so obviously I am blaming you, did you do something to her? Was she under some sort of spe
Kaliya -------------- things were worse, weird and strange, my father had warned the maids and guards in the castle against spreading what went down, things got an even darker shade of worse when uncle kato came this morning with Lumi, my heart couldn't bear to look at either of them. I was on my knees in my father's throne room eyes on the floor, uncle Kato had left not quite long, it was a shocker to hear about what my father did for the kingdom, I know what he did was wrong especially the deceit part but I understand, I don't know if it is because I am guilty of deceit too that I understand what my father had done. "The kingdom is going to fall" my father muttered, since uncle Kato left he had been a zoned out state, just talking to himself and calling my mother's name repeatedly, this was too much for him to bear as well. I hadn't had a wink of sleep cause whenever I close my eyes I keep seeing Lumi's face or the face of some villagers bloodied and battered open, I haven't be
