“I need to ask you something Lumi” I said upon remembering what had happened in the castle earlier before the wedding, I had completely forgotten about it until now.

“Whats that?” She asked closing the door to her room gently, we were done for the main time and was asked to get ready for dinner, one i wasn’t sure I’d be attending.

“So this couple came to dad, I think they were having problems cause the wife didnt seem to be In accordance to her husband and I kept hearing things like sex and trying new things and I…”

“Let me guess you were eavesdropping”

There was no need to pretend it was obviously the truth, they never brought any sort of complains to me, why didint they come to me to pray for them? That single thought had been swirling through my mind since that day, Im surprised I was able to forget it in a couple of hours.

“You know you should not concern yourself with things like that, it’s just little household issue, I am sure your father has resolved it “

That was not the problem, I know my father was good with solving issues like that but the problem was what they said to each other, now that Lumi had finalized day one of her marriage ceremony I can only think about her and if she and her groom will one day have problems like that and I-

“Where did you go? Lost you for a while” Lumi said staring at me with curiosity in her gaze.

“Sorry I was thinking about something else”

“Care to share?” She said pushing the large dresser open.

“The husband said something that got me thinking”

“Whats that?” She said looking at me for a split second before she continued searching through the dresses.

“He said his wife stopped uhh pleasing him, said she hasn’t been able to please him over the years, i don’t understand, she has children and obviously does the chores around is that not pleasing enough?”

Lumi paused and turned to meet my eyes, she opened her mouth to speak but I was not done.

“He said he’d take another if she does not try new things and Im scared”

“Why?” She was close to me now, my hands in hers.

“My father said it was normal, he said it was

normal and it happens in all marriages”

“Uhh”

“I-i and Im scared that it’s going to happen in yours, one day you’d stop pleasing your husband”

My eyes wide from fear, I expected Lumi to freak out like I was but instead she has a smirk on her face as if she was trying to stop herself from laughing.

“What?” I asked her with disbelief, did she think this situation was funny?

“Nothing, it’s just that I am very much attracted to my groom so trust me, there would be a lot of pleasing”

“Are you sure?” I asked feeling a bit better and hopeful, I sure didn’t want Lumi to come back complaining about her husband in the future.

“Yes trust me, if I could please him right now I would”

“Okay, that’s reassuring, make sure to please him everyday, any where and all the time”

“That’s a bit too much but okay”

“Promise?”

She chuckles before nodding her head “promise”

Good. Now I felt so much better.

“Dinner is in a few minutes, Im guessing you’re not changing but give me a few minutes i would be ready.”

Lumi was back to her closet rummaging for a dress and I scratched my head for ways to tell her i wasnt attending her dinner, not because i wasnt hungry but because this dinner was different, it was intimate as it was only the two families in a room.

I would be too close in proximity with the southerners and that was just wrong, besides I think dad would be furious with me for attending.

“This is perfect!” Lumi squealed as she placed the dress on the bed, she had maids for this but decided to do her things herself, she also said I was there to assist her when she never really lets me assist her.

“Uhh Lumi”

“You don’t like it?”

“No its good, it’s just that I wasn’t sure I’d be attending dinner”

“You don’t have to be hungry to attend, you just need to be by my side for moral support, you know I need you with me” she said, it was like she was setting all she got on the table so I would not argue which worked by the way because now I feel bad for trying to leave her on her own.

It was just dinner, if my father sees me he would arrange that i be far away from the southerners even if I would have to sit with him, I really didn’t mind.

“How do I look?” Lumi asked doing a little spin.

“Beautiful “ I said in all honesty.

“Good because we are late” she said hurrying now, her face had already been adorned so she didn’t have much to do, in some minutes she was ready and grabbing my arms as we walked out the door.

“Do you think he is already there?” She asked me and I was so close to being sarcastic with my reply but I decided against it.

“It’s like you have nothing else to think about” I said and she blushed.

“I just want everything to be perfect”

“It will, your worrying is not going to make it perfect you know that right?” I said but she didn’t respond, her eyes were locked in on something at the front and I turned my head and for the second time today my heart skipped a bit.

Cody, Lumi’s groom was standing by the door holding it ajar.

“I held it open for you” he said looking at Lumi for a split second before his eyes met mine, I looked down quickly blocking everything out, I knew Lumi responded but i didnt hear what she said and I was also aware they laughed but that was it.

As I walked inside the room I felt his eyes on me, i didnt know it was possible to feel these things, maybe I was overthinking it I said to myself so I decided to turn and check and yep, he was definitely staring, but it wasn’t the fact that he was staring that got to me, it was the smirk on his lips that did.

What did that mean?
