Chapter 2

Few minutes had passed when a group of boys showed up in front of us.

"Hey!" Lars greeted with his wide smile.

"Hi, guys!" Same as TJ.

"Did we miss something?" Asked Jonas with his toothy smile.

"What do you think?" I asked back, rolling my eyes.

They took the seats in front of us. Jonas propped his elbow on the table and rested his jaw at the back of his palm and squinted like he's suspecting me.

"Why so furious?" He scoffed. I glared at him then rolled my eyes. I didn't like how he smiled. It was pissing me off. Every angle of his face was irritating.

"Stop nagging her, Jones." I heard Angelika demanded. "You know she doesn't like to see your face."

Lars chuckled and I glared at him. His face turned to a serious one as he bit his lower lip, trying to ensnare the laughter from coming out.

I mocked at him. "Go and order some foods to eat." I commanded.

"Yes, ma'am." He teased, saluting. I scorned at him with a mocking manner.

The boys stood up and ordered some ice coffee or anything they wanted.

"I hate you for acting that way," Angelika suddenly spoke up the moment the boys left. "You should be good to them."

"Good to them?" I mouthed. "Do you think I like playful boys?" I rolled my eyes and looked away.

I hated that attitude. It reminded me of Gero. It reminded me of how giddy I was to him. It reminded me of shedding tears because of overwhelming feelings. And then one day I woke up with horrible news. I just knew he had a girlfriend.

What a pricking dickhead.

"Hmm,"' Trixie hummed and I turned to her. "Maybe... maybe because of Gero. Am I right?" She squinted playfully. "Because as far as I know, Gero's like them."

"Will you stop mentioning him?" I squawked with a rolling eyes.

I really hated that name. I hated everything about him! I hated myself for falling inlove with that asshole. If only I know he was just messing around, I should have reminded myself to elude from his dark tactics.

"Come on, Alpha," Janrez butted in between a laugh. "You're too obvious. Stop flaunting." And she shook her head in disappointment.

"Whatever." I mocked and rolled my eyes.

After the boys ordered their foods, they took the vacant seats in front of us.

"If I'm not mistaken, Gero invited everyone to his pool party." Lars suddenly spoke up, assembling his plate, so ready to swallow all of his foods.

"You're friends with him, aren't you?" Via clarified, who sat beside me. Across from her was Lars who's next to Jonas and TJ.

"Yup. And he told me the pool party will be held inside his house and it'll be on Saturday."

"Next Saturday, you mean?" Asked Trixie.

"Yeah," he simply replied.

"Oh, I love to!" Angelika exclaimed dreamingly, who's next to Via. I rolled my eyes as I groaned.

Pool party? What else did I expect from it? It wasn't fun!

"What's with the face, Alpha?" TJ commented and I turned to him, startled.

I shot my brows up.

"What?" I blurted out innocently. I eyed them one by one. They all looked confused.

"What's new?" Janrez interrupted. "She's always like that everytime she hears "pool party"."

"It isn't fun." I commented. "I-I mean... it's vernacular."

"Vernacular?" Trixie mouthed and suddenly bursted into a laugh. I eyed her, who's laughing her ass out. "Where did you get that word?"

"Look..." Angelika spoke up, trying to catch our attentions. "Pool party is so much fun! There will be drinks and such!"

"What's the difference if we'll go to a bar?" I asked immediately, trying to be sarcastic.

"Fathead." She bursted a laugh. "Bars don't have any pool, you silly."

"Then try to build one." I suggested sarcastically but she just laughed her ass out. I bit my lower lip, trying to keep my sanity. This girl was hitting my nerves.

"Okay, that's enough." Said by Janrez. "I think our Alpha is not in the mood at this moment. And guess what? It's all because of Gero."

"Oh, god." I yawped silently. Tears pooled over my eyes. I could feel myself wanting to whip some asses.

"I'm sorry," I heard Janrez said between her laugh. "I was just teasing you."

"Well, thank you so much." I replied sarcastically. I wiped my own tears and stiffened. My head was burning right now. I wanted to go home before I could trip some faces.

I stood up and they reacted abruptly.

"Where do you think you're going?" Asked Via. I scowled at her.

"Just room around." I curtly said and walked out. I could hear them murmuring but I don't give a damn.

I pulled out my phone and dialed Royal's number. God, I missed him so much.

"Yes, honey?" He greeted as soon as he answered my call.

"Can you fetch me? Are you busy?" I fired him questions.

"Ahm," he paused and I tried to feel his environment. I heared a familiar voice of a girl. I bet it's Ria's, his long time girlfriend.

"I understand." I said before he could add his line. "Maybe I'll just commute."

"Are you okay? I thought you're hanging out with boys?"

"I changed my mind." I sighed in exhaustions.

"You sound tired. You better go home and take a rest."

"Yeah," I murmured. "How I wish I followed you."

"What do you mean? Did something happen to you?"

"None." I sighed again. I could feel my feet wobbling the moment I remembered Gero. He's here for god's sake!

"Who's that, babe?" I heard Ria.

"It's Raphaela, babe. She said she wants to go home."

"Hmm. Why don't you fetch her?"

"Is it okay with you?"

I bit my lower lip. Ria's really lucky to have Royal. How I wished all boys were like him. He's so gentleman and everything you ever wanted to be with for the rest of your life.

"What?" Ria chuckled. "It's okay, babe. I know she's your responsibility."

"No need, bro." I said immediately. "I can handle myself. Maybe I just find the environment coarse."

"Let me talk to her," Ria demanded.

"Here." I heard Royal agreed. And few seconds passed, I heard her voice.

"Alpha!" She greeted, sounded happy.

"Hey," I smiled though she couldn't see it.

"Are you alone?"

"Nope. I'm with my friends."

"Hmm," she paused for awhile. "You okay?"

"Hmm?" I shot my brows up. "Yup. Maybe just tired."

"Oh! Don't worry. Royal will fetch you. Where are you?"

"A!" I heard Angelika's voice over my shoulder.

"Do you want to go home?" I heard Janrez asked and I turned to them. The squad's complete. They all looked confused and worried at the same time.

"Are they your friends?" I heard Ria over the phone.

"Yeah," I murmured.

"So what's your plan? Tell them you're going home by now."

The squad showed up in front of me, wearing their confused faces.

"Who's that you're talking to?" Asked Via curiously.

"It's Royal's girlfriend."

"Don't tell me you're going home?" Trixie concluded.

"Hmm," I glanced over their shoulders. And then I saw Gero and his bestfriend, Riley, looking at us, or at me, while talking stuff. Then they shifted their eyes and focused to those people they're with.

"What?" Angelika asked impatiently.

"I guess you should call later, Alpha," Ria propounded. "Royal's busy at this moment. We're doing our research papers."

"It's okay." I said. "I'm sorry for interrupting you two."

"It's okay, Alpha. Just text me if you want Royal to fetch you, okay?"

"Yeah, sure." My last line before I hang up and turned to my friends.

"You're always the kill joy, A!" Janrez whined. "It's just Gero. Get over him for god's sake!"

I scowled at her tiredly and mocked.

"Do you really think it's so easy to get over from him? You can say that because you haven't been here."

"Oh, come on!" She squawked with rolling eyes. "I tell you, A. You only need a closure."

"Closure?" I mouthed and bursted a laugh. She scrunched her brows in curiosity. "You witless judge. I don't need any closure from him. What we had was pure shit. So stop telling me about that pricking words, Rez. You don't know what I've been through because of him."

"Well," she paused. "That only says what you had with him is pure shit because if everything was just a game, why are you so bothered by his presence?"

I clenched my jaw tight. I was starting to get pissed with her. Of course it was easy to say it to me because she was not in my position. If only she would put herself in my shoes, I know she would be careful in choosing her words.

"Stop it, Rez, will you?" Via interrupted, annoyed. "I thought you understand her?"

"Let's end this bullshit, Alpha. You should knock your head off to be awaken up from goddamn fantasies of yours." She rolled her eyes and stormed out, leaving us dumbfounded.

I sighed in resignation. I know it was my fault why these things were happening. The blame was on me. I understood it. But if she would remain inconsiderate, then I had no choice but to cut everything we have.

After what happened, Janrez and I were not talking anymore. I knew she's disappointed with me but I was more disappointed. Who was I kidding? Gero's the only one I was serious with. And I had promised to myself that once someone would stick to me no matter what attitude I was showing, I would be into him. I would keep him for the rest of my life. But look at now? Karma had played very well.

"I hate the silence between the two of you. What are you guys? Mute pricks?" Trixie complained with sarcasm.

We went back inside our coffee shop. Gero and his squad were still inside and I hated it. I hated his presence. I hated how he made my feet wobble; how he made me buckle and how he made me cower in embarrassment.

I rolled my eyes and remained speechless, so as Janrez who's rolling her eyes in annoyance.

"Hmm. I guess this is over." Via declared and stood up, clutching her bag over her shoulder. "If you two won't fix this, then let obscurity take its place. Bye." She whirled around and walked away. I heaved a sigh. Boys only shook their heads off.

Janrez and I remained civilized. At this moment, I didn't want to talk nor interract with her. I hated how she talked without considerations. How I wished she would experience the same thing so she would realize how hard it was to deal with.

We parted our ways without fixing things up. I didn't care. I was not in the mood right now. I just wanted to go home and be alone inside my room.

I groaned as I shoved my body on my bed. I just arrived inside, feeling exhausted. I clutched a pillow and I bored my face on it, making it hard for me to breathe. Oh, yeah. How I wished I died.

I groaned again as I rose up. I closed my eyes and listened to every heartbeat inside my chest.

Gero Sandoval. Who the hell you think you were? Why was I so into you?

I was brought back to my sanity when I heard my phone rang. Someone messaged me. I hope it's nothing.

I sighed in relief when Royal's name welcomed my eyes. I couldn't help myself from smiling. Somehow it made me feel relaxed.

Brother R:

What's up, sis? You good?

I huffed and puffed a heavy sigh then I typed my reply.

Me:

Nope. Janrez and I are not in good terms.

I sent the message the moment I finished my word. And then I threw myself on my bed, closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

Relax, A. You'll be okay with Janrez. Just understand her because she was still too young to know about love. She's naive. She knew nothing about love.

My phone beeped so I sat on my bed and read his message.

Brother R:

Let is cease, sweety. In the end, friendship will win over anything.

I smiled. He never failed to make me feel good. I thanked heaven for giving me such a wonderful older brother. Though, he's not really my brother.

Me:

Thanks, bro. It helps me a lot. :)

After I sent my message, I laid down on my bed and closed my eyes. Maybe I needed some rest. But before I let myself fall asleep, I read his last reply.

Brother R:

Rest now, my baby sister. You'll get over with it. Don't worry, I'm here for you. Don't hesitate to call if you need some ears to listen you.

I smiled and replied,

Sure, bro. :)
