The café was quiet, Leonard had gotten it cleared out. They had chosen to sit by the window and Liora stared at her cup of coffee.

Her fingers wrapped around the cup loosely and her shoulders were hunched down, her eyes lowered. She looked totally downcast.

“I still can’t believe it,” Liora murmured, her voice low, strained.

“We were so close. Final stages of negotiation. They had literally promised us the deal” she added and raised her head to meet Leonard’s eyes.

Liora fought the urge to burst into laughter right there. Leonard thought he looked relaxed and unbothered asking that question but his jealousy and uncomfortability was fully written on his face. Liora chuckled, “Didn’t you hear? It was anonymous. I was shocked when I got them” she defended, trying hard to not laugh. “Anonymous? Really? You have no idea who sent them?” he asked.“Yes. I have no idea” Liora confirmed.“Really?” Leonard pressed on, he didn’t look the bit convinced. “No Leo. I don’t know” Liora replied and furrowed her brows. “You don’t believe me?” She asked and Leonard shifted in his seat. “It’s not that I don’t believe you but those flowers are Shenzhen Nongke Orchids. They only bloom every 4-5 years and that massive one that one sent to you? They were definitely specially grown. Does a random person send that to another random person?” He asked and Liora stared at him stunned. Shenzhen Nonhke Orchids? Of course she knew those flowers. They had been specially

She looked totally downcast.“I still can’t believe it,” Liora murmured, her voice low, strained. “We were so close. Final stages of negotiation. They had literally promised us the deal” she added and raised her head to meet Leonard’s eyes. There was concern etched across his face or at least—something that looked like it.She knew better than to believe that he was concerned about her. If he was concerned, he was concerned about the deal, what losing the deal meant for him. Leonard leaned forward slightly and covered her other hand with one of his.“I know that this was unexpected,” he said carefully. “But these things happen in business.” He added and Liora let out a soft, hollow laugh.“Do they?” she asked as her eyes glistened.“They do, but knowing how

“We were about to close that deal!” he snapped. “How did Frost get there first? What were you doing?!” He continued his barrage of questions.Liora’s fingers tightened around her phone and she laughed inwardly but her face and voice maintained a panicked expression and tone.“I—I don’t know, Dad,” she replied, her voice breaking. “We were still in talks—” she tried to explain but her father cut her off.“In talks?” He cut in and scoffed. “Do you understand how important that deal was?!” He roared and Liora smiled.Of course she knew how important the deal was. She even knew better than him and better than everyone, after all she had seen with her two eyes what the deal had done in her last life. That was exactly why she had messed with it.Liora allowed her voice to crack like she was crying.“I worked so hard on it. There were sleepless nights, the proposals were reviewed over and over again” her voice broke again. “I didn’t think—they wouldn’t—why would Frost even—?” Her words b

The conference room was quiet and Liora allowed her chair to swirl 180 degrees every now and then as one of the managers of the team explained the numbers on the screen. “Also, the last shipment has been successfully rerouted,” the manager concluded, pushing his glasses up slightly. “We managed to recover most of the losses before it escalated.” He added with a smile. It was unbelievable how much they’ve been able to salvage things in two weeks. He stared at Liora approvingly. She was truly the daughter of her father. Not her real father but the man who raised her and well still her father anyway. “If this had gone up to the Director, we’d all be in serious trouble.” Another manager chimed in, satisfaction and relief evident in his tone. The conference room echoed with laughter. The laughter sounded both satisfied, relieved and earned at the same time. Liora merely wore a soft smile as she twirled her back to face the table. She flipped through the documents in front of her, sc

The door clicked shut behind Kilhon as he stepped inside the office. Damien didn’t look up until Kilhon was standing beside his table. His pen moved across several pages in the documents in his hands. He left comments, stroked out words and then signed at the last page and then dropped the document and his pen. He relaxed in his chair and cracked his knuckles. Kilhon immediately walked towards another shelf and grabbed a bottle of water off the shelf. He walked back towards Damien and unscrewed the cover before placing the bottle in front of him. Damien grabbed the bottle and downed half the bottle down his throat before placing the bottle back on the table. Kilhon screwed the lid back and waited for Damien to speak. “Put him on a watch” Damien spoke and Kilhon nodded. “Understood President Frost” he replied“His accounts, monitor all activity. I want real-time alerts.”“Yes, President.” Kilhon replied again but Damien wasn’t done. “Those funny associations of his as well. Perso

“Nobody is transferring or giving anything to your division Uncle Steve. You should forget about the WestBridge project. Your filthy hands are never going to touch it” Damien said and Uncle Steve swallowed hard. He was literally shaking all over. It wasn’t normal for a guy who he was well over 14 years older than to have an aura that made him speechless, an aura that made him sweat and shaky. Damien had always had that same aura. With that ridiculous expressionless face of his. His aura had made everyone in the family, older, younger and even his age mates scared and terrified of him. Damien was right, he had been too careless this time around. He couldn’t imagine the lengths that Damien had gone to get that evidence against him. There was no way he could talk his way out of this one. “You have 72 hours to get your division in order. After 72 hours, it no longer exists” Damien announced and Uncle Steve froze on his seat for several minutes. “What?!” He yelled. “No, No, No!” He y
