Conrad POV I woke up 36 hours ago. I have a burst of energy and make sure I eat each time. Do about two hours of work, then go to sleep for three hours and repeat the process. I am doing all this from the hospital room as I refuse to leave Lewana, but I'm making it work. I can feel myself getting stronger each time I wake and have started moving around the room to get movement going, and Jace is coming back more and more, making it easier. We are probably at about 60-70% right now, but it's getting better. Our only focus is on making our mate proud. The care they have been giving her is amazing. Regular turns to avoid pressure sores. Physical therapy to keep her muscles moving and blood flowing. Mary has even been coming in three times a day to massage and sing to our pups in her belly. Conrad POV I notice the antiseptic smell first. I try to open my eyes, but the light above me burns when I do. Where the hell am I? I try to push myself up, and even though a strange feeling in my arm surprises me, it's nothing compared to the pain I feel in my ribs. I feel like I have been hit by a truck. I try to talk, but my mouth feels like sand. "Easy, Alpha King. Your home. You safe". My eyes slowly adjust to the light, and I start to recognise one of my medics staring at me. Lewana POV I'm sending mindlink after mindlink to get everyone in the pack to the medical centre that I need. Serena runs through the doors, holding Conrad unconscious in her arms. Conner POV It's the third dark night we have been running for our lives. We have stolen cars, been in gun fights, hidden out in abandoned warehouses, and been in a knife fight. I know we are getting closer to home, but I have no idea how far off we are. We have no phone and no way to contact anyone. We are currently being chased by five wolves from a local pack. Lewana POV I wake a few hours later just as the sun is setting. I feel much more rested, but I know we still have a way to go. Azalea was true to her word and left a literal cornucopia of food on the table in the room. I also see the ration bars on the floor, and I am assuming Liam put them on the table, and she moved them. After eating and discussing things with Serena, we decided she should patrol tonight. Lewana POV I started to rouse with a heavy feeling in all of my limbs. I don't recall the last time I felt this comfortable, though. It's almost as if I'm in a pillow den.
