Gwendolyn tried to keep up with Kieran as he stepped out of the pack house, but his legs were impossibly long and his strides were too quick.

As she walked past a number of houses, she caught the harsh glares some of the demon creatures threw at her.

She was a bit confused. Even though the lycans and the Wildings were sworn enemies, she didn't understand why they hated her. She had nothing to do with them.

The Wildings started the war by hunting down the lycans. Her kind only retaliated, which was a normal course of action. Yet they stared at her like she was the enemy. They were the enemy.

Kieran suddenly turned a corner and she had to hurry to catch up with him.

Before them was a large temple. Words were scribbled on the walls in strange languages, and when she stepped in, the doors shut behind her loudly.

The Triad were already on seat, waiting for her. They sat around a rectangular table, and the moment she stepped in, all eyes turned on her.

They were a group of six d

Kieran's face twisted into a scowl when the arrow pierced through his chest. His eyes darkened as he looked around, searching for the shooter. "Kieran, are you okay?" Gwendolyn shrieked.Kieran took hold of the arrow and ripped it out. A thick trail of blood flowed out, then the wound healed up instantly. "I'm fine." He assured her, but his mood had darkened. They hadn't even spent up to an hour in the pack, yet there were already threats. He dropped the arrow head just as Ryder and Odin hurried towards him. "What happened?" Ryder inquired, noticing the blood on Kieran's hand. He turned to Gwendolyn, wondering why she looked horrified. Kieran accepted the folded handkerchief Odin handed him and wiped the blood off his hand. "They know." He muttered. "They know Gwendolyn is in the pack. Someone shot an arrow at her.""We told Alpha Harry to keep Miss Gwendolyn's arrival a secret." Odin explained. "And he promised to do so.""Unless he wasn't the one who spread the news." Ryder sa

"Where were you?" Kieran asked as Gwendolyn joined him in front of the pack house. "The dungeon." She murmured, keeping her eyes averted. "I went to check on Julian."Kieran frowned when he heard the sound of her voice. She sounded upset. "What happened?" He asked softly. "Nothing. I'm fine." She tried to move past him, but he pulled her back and held her face up. Her eyes were wet with tears. "You're crying." He mentioned, then a dark look descended on his face. "Did he hurt you?""No." She shook her head quickly, but Kieran was already storming towards the dungeons. She grabbed his hand quickly and stopped him. "Kieran, stop. He didn't hurt me." "I knew I should have killed him." Kieran growled. "What did he say to you?""We just had an argument. That's all." She wiped the tears in her eyes and held his face gently. "I promise, he didn't hurt me. I'm just... sad for him. He used to be such a good man, but losing me changed him.""He didn't lose you, Gwen." Kieran snapped. "Y

Packing up was a mad rush. Gwendolyn instructed her maids to take only the essentials she would need because Kieran told her they would get everything else they needed at the Bloodmoon pack. In half an hour, they were ready. Ryder and Odin, the next in command after Kane's death, would follow them. As for Dom, he would protect the pack until Kieran returned. Before they left that afternoon, Gwendolyn headed towards the dungeons to see Julian. Though she hadn't forgiven him for trying to poison Kieran, she didn't want to leave without letting him know. The familiar smell of rot and decay assailed her nostrils when she stepped inside. Julian was locked up in the last cell, and she carefully walked through the pathway until she stopped in front of his cell. He looked terrible. Following Kieran's orders, the lycans had tortured him mercilessly. He stood at the back of the cell, his back turned towards her. Bloody whip marks and scars coated his back, unable to heal with the Khaldron

"Where have you been?" Gwendolyn asked the moment Kieran stepped into the pack house. Kieran smiled, masking the troubled look on his face. Until he found out what his father meant, he couldn't let her suspect or get her worried. "Morning run." He said, pulling her into his arms. "I wish I could do that." She sighed. Kieran chuckled and pressed a kiss on her cheek. "Hopefully, we'll find answers in the pack we're headed to. Then you'll be able to run wild in the forest with me."She smiled. "I can't wait. Any news from the raven?"Kieran shook his head, hating himself for lying to her but doing it all the same. "Not yet. But don't worry. If it arrives, Dom will send a message to us.""Where exactly are we going?" "Bloodmoon pack. The pack has a few ancient demons who might have answers to our questions.""They're going to hate me the same way your pack members do, right?"Kieran gently stroked her face and shook his head. "What matters is you'll be with me. They won't dare hurt y

Nestled between the mountains in the east side realm was Silvercrest pack, the Wilding pack where Ragnar Thorne ruled with a brutal hand. The pack was half the size of Nightshade pack, and the Wildings there lived in great fear of Ragnar's fiery temper. Ragnar pranced around the hall of the council in great annoyance, muttering incoherently. A twisted scowl marred his face, making the scar across his left eye more prominent. The door to the hall opened and he whirled around. The scowl on his face deepened as he glared at his beta hurrying towards him. "Where the hell have you been, Kade?" He bellowed. Kade lowered his eyes apologetically. "Forgive me, Lord Ragnar. There was a little delay.""Give me the news!" Ragnar snarled. "What did she say?""She wants to be kept anonymous, Lord Ragnar. She's terrified of what Alpha Kieran would do to her if he discovered she betrayed him.""Fine!" Ragnar snarled. "Just give me the news.""Alpha Kieran's mate isn't ordinary." Kade reported. "

Gwendolyn sat curled up in the middle of the bed, staring at nothing in particular. A blanket was draped around her shoulders, slightly damp from the water droplets in her hair. The door to the bathroom opened and she turned. Kieran stepped out, clad in just a towel. He held another towel in his hand, drying his hair.Water dripped down his chin, trailing past his chest to his torso before disappearing into the towel wrapped around his waist. A vivid image of what lay beneath that towel flashed across her mind. Her eyes strayed back to his face, watching as he dried his hair and flicked it away from his face. The wet tendrils curled up, reaching the middle of his back. She remembered how many times her fingers tangled between those long locks as he fucked her senseless. He was absolutely breathtaking and irresistible. It had been so difficult hating him while also ignoring the obvious attraction she had for him. He had broken all her resistance. Stripped her heart bare and crawled
