I barely remember how I got here. One moment I was in Granny’s house, listening to Anaya talk about that piece of shit and how she would stay so her child doesn't grow up with separate parents and the next… I was standing in Jace’s bar, drowning what was left of my sanity in whiskey.

“I raised you. You turned out fine, I'll help you with the baby too.” I said to her, but she shook her head and said it wasn't my responsibility.

She said she was pregnant.

Pregnant.

With his child.

The word echoed in my head, sharp and cruel. Like a sledgehammer constantly hitting against my brain. The pain I was feeling inside was clawing at my insides, and I needed it to quiet down. I needed something....to hit someone....anything!

I thought I was prepared for anything, but the image of her carrying Nash’s child hit me like a fucking bullet.

It wasn’t jealousy, it was pure, unfiltered rage.

Rage that she chose him.

Rage that she defended him.
