Chapter 2. Wasted

Every second you spend with the wrong person is a second wasted in the search for true love.

***

Beauty's POV

.

"I'm sorry, Beauty... please forgive me."

"Jerk!" I pushed him away to get out. I forgot to lock our gate, and the jerk got in.

"Beauty, I didn't love Donna. I only need her for sex, and that's all."

"What? You jerk! Get lost! Go to hell for all I care!" I shouted and locked the gate.

Jasper is drunk. It's been three weeks, and the repeat calls and messages harasses my days, and I'm over it!

I had enough. I wasted a lot of opportunity because of him. I didn't accept a job offer in Dubai and Singapore because of him. He doesn't want me to go overseas. I obeyed him for two years, and that's it. I'm over with everything. I realized I didn't really love him. I was only holding onto him because I had nothing.

"I love you, Beauty. I will not give up!"

"Oh, shut up! I don't love you anymore!" I said, step inside the house and shut the door. Part of me wants to listen to him, and the other part of my brain tells me this is stupid and a waste of time!

Donna and Jasper are engaged! And that only tells me one thing. . . I am nothing.

***

Donna threw workloads of paperwork on me, and I felt shity already. She did this on purpose! She knew all about me and Jasper. Probably, the jerk told her. I don't care! What's the point? She can have the jerk all for herself!

"Here, Beauty. There's more!" Donna threw another pile of folders on my table and walked away.

My blood boils looking at it. This is not right. These are no longer my job. She's doing this on purpose.

That bitch! I will have my payback.

I got home late. I finished everything. I don't want to leave some work for Monday. Thank goodness it is Friday, and I have two days off.

My sister called me today, and she's happy with her husband. I didn't tell her about what happened to Jasper and me. I don't want any words of wisdom from her. She was right the whole time about that jerk.

"I have an extra VIP pass, Beauty. I will fetch you." Ceilo said in the line.

"Okay. I will wait for you." I quickly changed myself. It's time to party and forget about everything. I miss Ceilo's company.

I took a deep breath while looking at myself in front of the mirror. A lot has changed in me lately, but I still I maintain my body's figure well.

I stopped going to parties because of Jasper. He doesn't want me to do this and that and many more! I was stuck to what he liked, and I was so dumb in believing that. And now that I'm finally free. I felt like the old me became alive after two years.

"Wow, Beauty! You look so gorgeous." Ceilo clapped her hands, looking excited at me.

"Thank you, Ceilo. You are beautiful, too. I can't wait for us to party!"

She laughed and started the ignition. I fasted my seatbelt, getting ready of myself.

"Is Jasper okay with this? I-I mean, did he approve of you going to a VIP party tonight?"

My mouth came partly open. I forgot to tell her that Jasper and I are over.

"I'm single and free, Ceilo. That jerk is a liar. We broke up three weeks ago. That's the end of it, and I will move forward."

"Really? Woah, I told you, right? I had a bad feeling that he's been cheating on you. Anyway, just forget about him. Let's go party!"

We arrived at the place, and the music invited me to dance. We went upstairs to the VIP open lounge, and most of the girls below on the dancing floor were looking at us. Ceilo has two VIP tickets. Not everyone can go upstairs unless they have an invite from the top.

"The Mondragon Boys are here!" she exclaimed, and we settled on a comfortable seat around the corner closer to the VIP bar.

"Who?" I twisted my lips, and the waiter served us our drink.

"Thank you, Vince," Ceilo said to him.

"The Mondragons. Don't you know them?"

"Nope. I have no idea." I tasted the drink, and it's my favorite, Pinacollada. I will never get drunk with this.

"How can you afford all of this, Ceilo?" Curiosity hits me. I have known Cielo for a long time. We did ramp way back then, and I quit joining the higher-ups because of that stupid jerk Jasper. I wish I could continue what I love to do.

"Beauty, you still didn't know my style. Don't you know that everything is possible in my hands?" She winked and laughed.

After a few minutes, Ceilo stood closer to the VIP bar counter and asked for two bottles of vodka from the bartender. Four men are around her, and it seems they know each other. She started dancing and laughing.

"Here, have fun, okay?" She gave me the two vodka, and I nodded. I started opening it. I can't wait to taste it.

"Come and join us too, Beauty." Ceilo held my wrist, but I shook my head.

"Maybe later, Ceilo. Just have fun. I will keep an eye on you." I laughed. Ceilo is crazy when it comes to partying. I want to control my alcohol limit so that I can still drive home.

I started drinking on my own while looking at Ceilo dancing and drinking. She waved at me, wanting me to join them, but I refused. Tonight, my wish is to get wasted, to wash everything for the final time. I want to start a new goal, and that is to establish my career.

I didn't notice that I finished the whole bottle of vodka. I am now opening the second one. I felt my head spinning and my stomach swirling. I looked at Ceilo's direction, and she was no longer there. I looked around, trying to find her, but I couldn't see her anywhere.

I looked at the stairs leading to the third floor, where the VIP rooms are located. I saw Ceilo at the top.

"Cielo!" I called her, but she didn't hear me.

I stood up, but I nearly lost my balance. I blinked my eyes a few times, trying to bring my head back to my body.

What the heck? This is the after-effect of not drinking for so long. I looked up again, and I could no longer see Ceilo. I have to get her out from the top. I know what will happen inside those rooms. I can't let that happen to Ceilo.

That woman, really. She's crazy!

"Let me escort you, Miss."

My brows furrowed, and I looked at the two bouncers behind me as I stepped into the third floor.

"Did I do something wrong? I just want to get my friend. You know Ceilo, right?" I swallowed hard. These two bouncers don't seem friendly at all.

"Okay, fine. I will get down. I don't have an invite. I get the rules, okay," I rolled my eyes, ready to step down, but the two bouncers didn't move.

"We will escort you to the top, Miss," one of the bouncers said.

"What?" Shocked by what I heard, my heart started to pound harder.

"Who invited me?"

"You will see once you get there, Miss."

I froze for a moment and blinked my eyes a few times. I'm scared, but then, I want to get Ceilo.

"Okay! Let's do this!" I exclaimed and paced faster to the top.
