05: It's Your Home

A few weeks passed since I was marked by Beta Andrew. Since I was mostly alone in the house, I decided to take over the household duties. One day, I just picked up the broom and changed everything around the house. I cooked for him then I cleaned up everything. 

When it was time for him to return home, I was literally sweating with fear. The door opened and Beta Andrew walked in. He froze when he looked around the house. I was biting my nails out of anxiety. “I am sorry. I was bored.” Narrowing my head, I apologized for intruding.

“Why are you apologizing? It's your home now. You are allowed to make changes. Besides, I like the interior more now.” I blinked a few times. He walked past me, a smile was on his face. 

Before he could start climbing up the stairs, I called out from behind. “Beta! I made dinner.” I barely managed to utter those four words out of my mouth. 

He looked at me for a moment. Then he nodded his head and walked away. He didn't know that I apologized because nothing in my father's house belonged to me. I couldn't try redecorating the interior and get scolded. While Rebecca would get away with destroying everything and I was asked to clean up her mess later.

Wiping my tears, I sat down on the couch. It was unfair how our parents treated Daniel and Rebecca while they were totally different with me. In the end, Rebecca took everything from me. And I was left to clean up the mess.

Beta said nothing as he ate the dinner. I was quietly eating as well when he broke the silence. “Next week is Alpha's birth week. He has invited us to the mansion. Pack up! We'll leave early in the morning.” Beta said as he held a spoon full of curry against my lips.

“I don't want to go.” I replied without hesitation.

“It's not up to you. I said we are going. So we are going.” I wasn't even surprised when he didn't listen to me. Then the spoon was pushed inside of my mouth. 

He finished his dinner and left. I thought if I didn't pack up, he wouldn't be able to take me with him. But I was so wrong. Beta packed for me and in the morning, we were on our way to my father's mansion. Well, he was taking me there by force. I was on his shoulder as he walked toward the mansion. 

He left his bags in my bedroom as he had to go with my father. I locked myself inside. I didn't want to meet anyone after they destroyed my life completely. My stomach was growling. I was hungry. That's when Beta Andrew knocked on the door. “Open up, Felicia.” 

When I opened the door, he grabbed my hand and pulled me outside. “I don't want to meet anyone. Leave me alone.” I tried not to raise my voice at him but it was useless.

Beta Andrew suddenly pulled me to him and I was slammed against his hard chest. “You are my mate now. And I will not tolerate any disrespect for the alpha's family. You do as I say. Or you will get punished.” Without my wolf, I had no power over someone as strong as Beta. I had no choice but to listen.

He wiped my tears with his sleeve then took me downstairs, to the dining room. A feast was prepared and set in front of us. Rebecca was there too but Brad was not. “Oh, look at you. You look good with beta.” Rebecca spoke as soon as she saw me.

I wanted to slap her but I remembered beta's warning, so I narrowed my head again. “I appreciate the compliment.” Beta Andrew replied to Beta. Beta pulled a chair for me and I sat down.

“I can't tell you, mom. How much Brad loves me. He is always around me. He takes care of me. I am living the best life. I thought my sacrifice would bring me pain. I'm glad I made the right choice.” My heart was burning as I heard her. After destroying my life, she was enjoying what was meant for me.

“Open your mouth.” I blinked a few times as beta Andrew ordered me. I didn't argue. I just opened my mouth. He fed me with his own hands. Just then, Brad walked in. Rebecca pulled a chair for him. 

“Aren't you forgetting something, my Luna?” Brad asked Rebecca and I had to pinch my thigh so I wouldn't start crying in front of them. 

“Oh, yeah. I am so sorry, alpha. I forgot, you don't eat until I have served you the food with my own two hands.” Rebecca kissed Brad in front of my eyes. It hurt to see her happy in my place when all I did was trust her. Before my heart could have burst, I stood up and walked away.

Before I could lock myself inside my bedroom, Beta was already inside. “Didn't I tell you to behave?” He tried to scold me but I was too sad and angry at that moment. 

“What do you all want from me? You brought me here so Rebecca can hurt me more. She is living the best of everything that was meant for me. And you want to scold me? Get out! I don't want you in my room.” In the fit of rage, I kicked him out of my bedroom. Beta didn't say anything for some reason. He just grabbed his bag and walked away.

I was crying and asking the moon goddess why she had been so cruel to me. I cried myself to sleep as the burden of my sorrows just wouldn't let me breathe.
