After her father died, Regina got sick and had to stay in a hospital for commoners, even though she was the daughter of a count. Instead of getting better, she got worse and almost died. Her stepmother, half-sister, and husband told her a shocking secret, and she died with a grudge. When she woke up, she was back a few years before her father and herself died. Regina wanted to save her father and herself, so she asked the famous Grand Duke for help. Will she get revenge and save her father?
View More"Hey, Selina... Lion, where are you?" murmured the woman named Regina.
Regina, in a state of weakness, lay on a bed at the Royal Hospital, a facility established for penniless commoners. Though born into wealth, she now shared the fate of the poor.
Elisabet had arranged for Regina to stay in a room she specifically requested, so she could rest comfortably. Her stepmother accused her of insanity because she refused to accept the death of her beloved father. Regina had asked for a special room, so as not to disturb the other patients.
"Sister." Selina, Regina’s half-sister, arrived with Lion, Regina’s husband.
"I want to get better, Selina! Why don’t you transfer me to the general hospital?" Regina moaned, her pain unbearable.
She couldn't help the intense pain in her stomach, as if it were being squeezed and stabbed.
"You know, because of Father’s illness, our family is deep in debt. During his illness, no one took care of the house or earned money for us, so we’ve accumulated a lot of debt. That's why you can't be treated at the best hospital in the kingdom." Selina looked down, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Honey, forgive my uselessness," Lion clasped Regina’s hand.
The man looked deeply sorrowful for his wife.
"Sister, it must hurt a lot, right? If I could, I would take away your pain, but I can’t." Selina pulled Lion’s hand away from her brother and immediately hugged Regina, still lying in the hospital bed.
"It’s okay, Selina. You love me so much. I’m already very grateful." Regina returned Selina’s hug.
Even though Selina was only her half-sister, Regina loved her dearly. Yes, Elisabet had already had a child when she married Count Deptian Grana.
"Then let’s leave. Let Regina rest comfortably, and we’ll come back tonight to see her." Lion hugged his sister-in-law, who didn’t want to part with Regina.
"Are you leaving already?" Regina still didn’t want to be left alone in the room.
She wanted one of them to stay with her but didn’t want to say it out loud.
"Yes, you need to rest," Selina said.
"Lion, don’t you want to stay with me?" Regina turned and looked at her husband sadly as he prepared to leave.
Selina, seeing this, tightly grabbed Lion’s arm and gave him a look that Regina couldn’t understand. Only Lion released the woman’s embrace and approached his wife with a sincere smile on his lips.
"Darling, I’m busy making arrangements to move you to the best hospital in the kingdom. I hope you understand that I can’t stay here with you." Lion gently stroked the top of Regina’s head, causing Selina to smile faintly behind him.
"So, Selina?" Regina turned to her sister.
Selina’s expression immediately changed when her sister looked at her. "Understand, Sister Regina! We’re busy finding the money to transfer you out of this hospital, so you’ll just have to be patient and stay alone in this room."
"You’re still under care here, so you’re not completely alone!" Selina snapped at Regina, causing the sick woman to look down. "I’m sorry, Sister Regina. I didn’t mean to yell at you, it’s just..." Selina’s voice trailed off, her tears falling again.
"Selina, I’m sorry," Regina bowed her head, realizing she was a burden.
Regina felt guilty for her sister, who seemed so tired.
"It’s okay. Take your medicine and get some rest. We’ll wait until you fall asleep, then we’ll leave," Selina said, pulling the medicine from her bag. "You need to take your medicine first."
With a kind smile, Selina handed the fragile woman a glass of water.
Regina took the glass with a weak smile, feeling very fortunate to have a stepfamily who loved her so much, aside from her late biological father and mother.
In fact, Regina had been depressed when her mother passed away when she was very young, just nine years old. But it wasn’t long before Count brought a grown woman with a small child who was very kind to her.
Little Regina, who felt lonely after her mother’s death, was immediately met with kindness and hospitality from Elisabet and Selina. Elisabet always made Regina feel like a priority, even though Regina was not her biological child.
"Here." Regina handed the empty glass to Selina with trembling hands.
Unconsciously, Regina dropped the glass because her hands could no longer hold it.
"Sister!" Selina cried at the sound of the glass breaking.
Regina was startled to hear her sister scream. "I didn’t do it on purpose, Selina," Regina stammered.
"Selina, don’t be like that! Poor Regina, she didn’t do it on purpose, just look at her frail body and those eyes." Lion carefully picked up the broken glass from the floor.
He was very cautious as he picked up the shards, afraid of hurting himself on the sharp pieces.
"I’m sorry, brother. Maybe I was too tired from taking care of our new business with Brother Lion." Selina rubbed her face roughly.
She immediately helped Lion pick up the shards.
Regina couldn’t respond to her sister’s words; she was too shocked by the yelling and the sudden guilt she felt in her heart.
She felt like a burden who could only lie in the special room of this royal hospital. Earlier, she had asked to be transferred to a general hospital, which would be very expensive.
"Brother, just sleep now. We’ll stay here for a while until you fall asleep, then we’ll go back to manage the business we’ve started," Selina said, looking closely at her brother.
"Okay." Regina obediently agreed.
Regina lay down and pulled the blanket over herself to rest, so her loved ones could get back to work.
It was only a few minutes later that Regina tried to sleep but couldn’t. However, if she opened her eyes and told them that she couldn’t sleep, they wouldn’t leave. So Regina decided to close her eyes and pretend to be asleep.
"Sis, are you asleep?" Selina’s voice asked Regina, but Regina continued pretending to sleep.
"Looks like she’s already asleep, sweetheart," Lion said.
"Mom?" Regina stared intently at the beautiful woman who looked familiar to her.The woman stretched out her arms, asking for a hug. "Right, this is Mom. Sorry for making you wait so long."Regina immediately rushed into the arms of Lily, the woman who was her mother. Tears continued to flow because she missed her biological mother for a long time."Are you okay so far? I'm so sad to see you suffering from up there." Lily's eyes glazed over at her daughter, looking very sad."Yes, I'm fine now, Mom. So don't worry about me, and rest in peace." Regina tightened her hug to her mother, a warm embrace that she missed so much."Thank goodness you're okay. Mommy will always try to protect you no matter what, so you don't have to feel alone anymore." Lily stroked Regina's hair lightly, as a mother would treat her young child."Don't tell me Mom made me go back in time?" Regina looked up at her mother, and Lily answered with a nod of her head. "So you turned back time to make me come back to
"This is delicious." Regina was very happy to eat the meal that Mira made for her."I'm glad you like it. Eat more." Hertia supported he chin with one hand as he continued to watch he wife."Didn't you have breakfast?" Regina paused her meal, and looked up at her husband, who had been watching her."Just looking at you fills me up, so I don't need breakfast anymore," Hertia replied. Regina immediately responded with bulging eyes."You have to have breakfast! If you don't, I'll stop eating it." Regina pushed the bowl of soup away from her, even though she glanced at it a few times while she ate quickly, but she still held back so that Hertia would join her for breakfast.Hertia smiled at he wife, knowing that Regina still wanted the soup, so he kept looking at it. "Mira, did you cook a lot of soup? I want to eat only that soup because if I eat something else, I'm afraid it will make my wife no longer eager to eat the soup.""There's plenty, Duje. I'll get some more." Mira walked into t
"No, Duke! Let me stay there. Gera doesn't have to come because I'm the guilty one here." Sira held onto the master's legs, hoping he would forgive he.Gera wanted to say something, but she felt tight in the chest from hitting the wall, and it was hard for he to speak."If that's what you want, I won't stop you. Hurry, and pack your things because I don't want to see you before sunrise tomorrow! But if you realize the mistake you made, I will accept you back here, though I won't restore your position." Hertia approached he wife again, ignoring the two man.Sira immediately carried Gera to be treated, and Mira, who saw this, felt sorry for her and chose to help."I hope you learn from this," Mira said as they left.Hertia stroked his wife's stomach, occasionally kissing Regina's forehead gently. With every kiss, he felt regret for not being stricter with her."I'm sorry, Regina. If I had disciplined her properly, maybe you wouldn't have experienced something like this. Oh, I'm sorry! M
"I only said what needed to be said, Auntie. Because no matter what, Duchess would have found out," Sira argued, not wanting to be blamed."Ugh!" Regina cried out while holding her stomach, causing everyone to look at her."I'll get a doctor, Duchess!" Terri immediately ran out to call the doctor.Regina continued to whimper while holding her stomach, where she felt cramps.Mira, and Sira, who were there, approached the woman, trying to ease her pain."I came with the doctor you requested." Terri came by, holding the doctor's hand, and approached the madam. The doctor examined Regina's condition, asking questions that surprised everyone."Please forgive my lack of thoroughness in examining you, Duchess. I only examined the wound on the outside." The doctor bowed his head in guilt."No problem. What happened to me?" Regina looked at the doctor in surprise. She was now very confused as to what illness she was suffering from."You are pregnant, and I think the baby is only two weeks old.
"Tell me, did you plan all this?" Mira snapped at her niece, causing Sira to nod her head slowly. "I don't know what made you do it, but I'm not going to do anything. I just don't know what the Grand Duke will do to you later. I won't protect you, even though I promised Zena, your mother, that I would."Mira left Sira without saying anything else, not caring that the young woman had said she was sorry for what she had done. In Mira's opinion, now that her niece had done something wrong, it could not be forgiven.Of course, the punishment would wait for the Grand Duke, because no matter what, the victim was Regina. Besides, the culprit was Sira, the butler of the residence itself. Mira could not have made the decision alone without the master."You will send a message to the Grand Duke about Duchess condition, but there's no need to go into too much detail about what happened. I will explain it to the lord personally!" Mira ordered the man who usually delivered messages or letters. In
Sira sat limply on the ground, almost buried in thick snow, but Regina was down there instead. Sira, realizing this, immediately got up from her seat to approach the buried mistress."Duchess, can you still hear me?" Sira dug through the snow with both hands, hoping to get Regina out quickly. But unfortunately, it was impossible to get her out alone, especially without using tools. Even if she could, it would take a long time, and Regina would freeze to death.Sira realized she would have to ask for help from people nearby, hoping someone would help her get the mistress out. Running around looking for people, she came across Mira, her aunt."Auntie, help me!" Sira said in a trembling tone."What's wrong? Tell me what happened?" Mira looked at her niece intently, searching for answers."Duchess was buried by a pile of snow that fell from a tree while she was watching the snow fall." Sira pointed to where the mistress was trembling.Mira was shocked but quickly called for someone to hel
