Chapter 15

Romeo POV

I blink and open my eyes as blurry things start to get clear. I noticed that I was in my room. I winced trying to get up and pushed myself back a little, supporting my body on the bedhead. I called Domenico out just so he could save her. That’s when the realization hit me like cold water of what I'd done, and I clearly don’t remember what Domenico had done after coming out. My whole body felt like it was stabbing in pain as if a car had run over it.

I take a glass from my bedside table and drink some water to soothe my parched throat. From the other side of my bedroom door, I heard someone talking. I got up from my bed, opening the door only to see my grandma, Luca, and Dr. Lorenzo. They stood there for a while, unsure whether they should come near me or not.

"R-Romeo?" Grandma called in a low voice to see if I was the one. I nodded my head, indicating to her that it was me, and she immediately came rushing towards me.
