Loretta

The elevator doors opened to the private floor of the grand hotel, the fine dining restaurant tucked beneath Moreau & Co’s tower.

I stepped out beside Asher, in the red silk dress Loretta had slipped into my bag. The dress clung to me, the deep V neckline was bolder than what I usually wear, and I just felt like it was right for tonight’s dinner.

Asher’s gaze found me the moment we stepped into the room. He didn’t look away, his eyes ran over me slowly. When he finally spoke, his voice was lower than usual.

“Let’s not keep them waiting.”

My pulse jumped, and I quickly smoothed a hand down my dress as we were led by a hostess toward a secluded section of the restaurant. The table was set near a wall of glass overlooking the Seine, where Paris shone.

Ethan Moreau stood as we approached, tall and effortlessly charming in a dark suit. Beside him sat a woman with sleek blonde hair swept into a low twist, she smiled warmly.

“Asher! Loretta!” Ethan’s grin widened. “You made it righ

LorettaNo matter how hard I try, I still can’t bring myself to hate Asher. I have pushed myself to feel anger toward him, to blame him for what his father did to my family, but it just doesn’t stick. Deep down, I know that trying to hate him was childish, especially because he isn’t the one who committed those actions. Still, what hurts the most is that he doesn’t seem truly remorseful. He still found a way to defend his father and justify what happened.Yesterday was strange and confusing in a way I didn’t expect. Being around him made my body react before my mind could catch up. It was almost embarrassing how little control I felt I had over myself. If he had tried anything, I honestly don’t think I would have stopped him. I would probably have only come back to my senses after we have fucked. That’s how much my body still remembers him, how much it still aches for what we once had, even when my heart knows better.I walked out of the grocery store with my hands full of shopping b

  • The Masked Stripper is my Wife.    WHERE IS THE REAL EDITH?

AsherRichard turned the laptop toward me. “Do you think these numbers are good?” he asked. I leaned forward, scanned the screen, and nodded. “Yes. They look fine.”He gave a small nod in return, turned the laptop back to himself, and went on with his work. The quiet tapping of the keys filled the room.A few minutes later, my phone rang, I glanced at the screen and saw Miss Jenna’s name. My chest tightened, I let out a tired sigh and slowly closed my laptop. We still hadn’t been able to find Edith. She had completely disappeared, leaving no trail behind. It was as if she had simply vanished into thin air.The only thing we had managed to uncover was my car, the one she had used to go to that restaurant in New Jersey. It had already been sold off to someone else. When I heard that, I couldn’t help but shake my head. I still didn’t understand how anyone could be careless or foolish enough to buy a car like that without asking too many questions. The whole situation sat heavily on my

Loretta“Mom, can I have a cookie?” Adrian asked, looking up at me with hopeful eyes. I couldn’t help but chuckle. “Not yet, sweetheart,” I said gently, running my fingers through his hair. His face fell into a small frown. After a moment, he looked up again. “Okay… but is Dad not coming today?” he asked quietly. “He promised he would come to visit.”I smiled softly at him, even though my chest tightened a little. “Your dad is a very busy man,” I explained patiently. “He always tries to make time for us. If he doesn’t come today, it just means work is keeping him busy.” Adrian nodded slowly, as if trying to understand.Asher had really been making an effort these past few days since we arrived. I knew that. So if he didn’t show up today, it wasn’t because he didn’t want to. He must have been caught up with work, just like always.“Mom, can we stay in this house forever and never leave again?” Adriana asked softly. “I don’t want to go anywhere Dad isn’t.”I smiled at her, even though I

  • The Masked Stripper is my Wife.    LIVING A LIE

AsherI walked toward her, and she rose from her seat, offering a polite smile. “Thank you for inviting me, Mr. Prescott,” she said softly. There was a hint of uncertainty in her voice, almost like she was holding back a question.I nodded slightly, encouraging her to sit back down. She hesitated for a moment before lowering herself into the chair. “Edith, she doesn’t want to meet me yet?” she asked, her voice trembling ever so slightly, betraying the vulnerability she tried to hide.“She will join us soon,” I replied calmly. “I came here straight from work, so I didn’t want to keep you waiting.”Her smile widened instantly, lighting up her face. “I didn’t tell her about you,” I continued, watching her reaction closely, “because I wasn’t sure how she would feel. But I would like you to explain yourself to her when she arrives.”Her eyes flickered with a mixture of surprise and nervous excitement, and I could tell she was already imagining the conversation to come.Miss Jenna nodded s

  • The Masked Stripper is my Wife.    LITTLE BIT OF PITY

AsherI got home completely exhausted. The day had drained everything out of me. Meetings I was supposed to attend were left hanging, and my phone wouldn’t stop buzzing with missed calls and messages I didn’t have the energy to return. As soon as I stepped into the living room, I saw Edith. She was on a call, pacing slowly, her voice low. The moment her eyes met mine, she froze. Without a second thought, she ended the call and slipped the phone away, so quickly it was obvious she hadn’t wanted me to hear any of it.She stood up and walked toward me, her expression already shifting into something softer, almost rehearsed.“Welcome back, babe,” she said with a small smile. “I thought you were going to come back late.”Her words caught my attention. We hadn’t talked about my schedule. I hadn’t told her when I would be home. Yet she spoke as if we had already planned it. I dropped my keys on the table, my body heavy with fatigue, and looked at her. Something about the way she had ended t

  • The Masked Stripper is my Wife.    WIFE'S MOTHER

Asher“What’s going on here?” I asked, my eyes flicking back and forth between Grandma and Miss Jenna. My voice carried more tension than I intended. Something about the way they were sitting, stiff and uneasy, told me this wasn’t going to be a simple explanation.Grandma cleared her throat, her fingers nervously fidgeting in her lap. She avoided my gaze for a moment before finally speaking. “She, she is your wife’s mother,” she said, her voice low, almost a whisper. My heart skipped a beat, Miss Jenna hadn’t been lying all along. But even knowing that, I still didn’t understand what was happening. Why was she here now? Why had Grandma never mentioned her before? A storm of questions whirled in my mind, making it hard to think clearly.Miss Jenna shifted in her seat, crossing her arms and giving a small, uncomfortable sigh. “I have been trying to reach my daughter,” she said, her voice calm but tense. “I had no idea she was married to you, that is, until I read about it on a gossip bl
