Regina's POV

I didn't know why but I was so relieved when Nicholas offered to take me somewhere. I sat down while he ordered for drinks for the both of us.

It still didn't make any sense.

"What doesn't?" I heard him say and I blinked.

"I said that out loud?"

Nicholas stared at me like I'd just hit my head somewhere. "You've been murmuring all through the ride home. I barely understand a word of what you've been saying."

I looked down to the table, "it just doesn't make sense, Nick."

"Call me Nick again, and I'll--"

I didn't hear the rest of it. Or maybe he didn't say anything thinking I would get the messages. I didn't even care. Why would he be extra sensitive whether I called him by his full name or not?

"Think about it. Why did you think she did it? I'm never too bothered about betrayals. That's why I don't trust anyone, or have any friend at all."

I sighed at that. I was tired of hearing that he didn't trust anyone. "You have Mike. He's like your best friend ever."

  • Betrayed By Ex, Loved By My Billionaire Boss    Bigger Win

Regina's POV Dinner Date I wasn't planning on wearing red. But when I saw it, the sleek, backless dress hanging in the boutique window after work. I walked in, tried it on, and bought it without hesitation.Because if the world insisted on watching me and Nicholas like a scandalous soap opera, I might as well give them a show.Dinner tonight wasn't supposed to be official. Just a quiet table at a discreet rooftop spot downtown. But with the way things had escalated, it suddenly felt like... more.A power move, one could even say it was like a line in the sand. When I walked into the restaurant, heads turned. Some recognized me from the LinkedIn post. Others just knew I didn't look like someone who got tossed aside.Nicholas was already there, in a black suit that fit him like sin and command. His eyes widened when he saw me. "You wore red.""You like it?" I asked, sitting across from him.His gaze was molten. "That's not the word I'd use."We ordered wine. The waiter disappeared. Th

  • Betrayed By Ex, Loved By My Billionaire Boss    Playing Attack

Regina's POV I didn't sleep that night. Not because of fear. Not even because of anger. My mind was simply... awake.I lay in bed staring at the ceiling, Nicholas beside me, breathing softly in sleep. He had offered to do a press release. I told him not to.What was the point? People would believe whatever made them feel powerful. But I wasn't going to hide anymore either. The next morning, I got dressed with purpose. No soft neutrals. No delicate pastels. I wore a blood-red blouse, sharp black trousers, and heels that clicked like a countdown with every step.At the office, people looked and were whispering too. A junior staff member even flinched when I caught her staring.Good, Let them feel the heat.I walked into the boardroom and dropped my file on the table."We're starting now," I said, not waiting for the CEO to arrive.Eyes widened. Nobody argued.I led the meeting, hit every point, and by the time Nicholas joined fifteen minutes later, the room was already mine. He gave me

  • Betrayed By Ex, Loved By My Billionaire Boss    The Media

Regina's POVThey thought they had me cornered. That leaked video, the kiss with Nicholas...it was certainly their final move. Their desperate attempt to drag me through the mud one last time.It was everywhere. Social media, the News channels, even the morning shows.I knew now that I was done playing nice.I stood at the press conference podium in a fitted navy suit, hair slicked back, a predator in lipstick.Cameras flashed. The room buzzed like a nest of hornets. I took a deep breath. And burned everything down."Let's not pretend we don't know how this works," I said into the mic, voice calm but electric. "When a man is powerful and passionate, he's called a leader. When a woman is both? She's called a whore."A murmur rippled through the audience."Well, I'm not here to defend myself," I continued. "I'm here to make a statement."Lights clicked and flash from cameras."Yes, I'm in a relationship with Nicholas Langston. No, it did not get me this job. My work did. My grit did. My

  • Betrayed By Ex, Loved By My Billionaire Boss    The Betrayal

Regina's POVI should've known peace wouldn't last. Not in this world with these people.Just three days after Mary's suspension and the official announcement of my role at the startup, the first bomb dropped. It came in the form of a legal email. Not a cease-and-desist. Not a threat. A full-blown lawsuit. Allegations of intellectual property theft. My first thought was: You've got to be kidding me. Mary wasn't just playing dirty, she'd gone nuclear. The startup had barely launched, but somehow, she'd gotten access to enough internal documentation to build a flimsy, dramatic case against us. She claimed I had stolen proprietary strategies from the company and used insider knowledge to develop our business plan. I could smell her desperation all over it.Nicholas stormed into my office the minute he heard. "They filed this under her name, but this came from someone higher up. Mary doesn't have this kind of legal team.""Higher up?" I echoed. "Like who?"He hesitated. "Board-level. Or.

  • Betrayed By Ex, Loved By My Billionaire Boss    Proposal

Regina's POVBy morning, the startup team had doubled down. A fresh email blinked in my inbox with the subject line, Let's Talk Equity.I stared at it like it was a proposal from another dimension.I couldn't sit still. I slipped out during my lunch break, hopped in a cab, and headed to a cozy little café where I'd agreed to meet Ethan, my friend and the startup's co-founder. He was already at a corner table, laptop open, sleeves rolled up."Regina," he said, standing to hug me. "I've never seen someone shut down a White and walk away standing. You're a legend now."I smirked. "Is that why you're offering me shares?""No," he said, eyes serious. "I'm offering because you make things happen. And because you're wasted in that corporate crypt."He slid a folder across the table. Inside papers, numbers, outlines of a real role. Head of Operations, Co-founder in all but name. Flexible schedule, remote when needed, and full creative control."Think about it," he said. "We're not promising c

  • Betrayed By Ex, Loved By My Billionaire Boss    Nothing To Lose

Regina's POVI didn't sleep that night. How could I? The email had been printed, dissected, passed around like candy by the legal department. Jenna hadn't said anything yet, but I knew that silence, tight-lipped and loaded. And Nicholas? He'd gone quiet again, always calculative and protective...the last part in his words at least. But this time, I didn't want to be protected. I wanted to strike back. The next morning, I walked into the office wearing my sharpest black blazer and a red lip that screamed "try me." If Cassandra wanted a war, she'd just handed me the perfect excuse to destroy her.Nicholas met me in the hallway, already on the phone with HR. "Yes, I understand the nature of the complaint. But she won't be stepping down, because there's no basis for the accusation."He hung up and gave me a look. "You okay?""No," I said honestly. "But I will be once she chokes on her own venom."He smirked, proud. "Good. Because I've got a plan."I found myself muttering a low “oh no” u
