Detroit~

Greenville and the capital shared the same sky, but only Greenville honored the sun. The capital hid it behind a thick curtain of clouds, as if the sky itself feared what was coming. As if it was scared of the man in black, exuding so much aura it feared might pluck the sun from its protection.

Detroit didn’t rush.

His coat floated behind him with each quiet, measured step, brushing the ground like a whisper of warning. He walked with the calm and confidence of a man who had done this a million times.

Behind him followed an army of men in fitted black outfit with masks, embroidered with the family's crest. Their movements are synchronized, almost soundless. Some had twin swords strapped across their backs. Others carried long single blades. A few held long, narrow cases that only the highest-ranking members of the West family would recognize. Cases that never opened unless a massacre was guaranteed.

They weren’t soldiers.

These were the West family's hidden assassins.

  • Betrayed By Husband And Son: Rise Of A Billionaire Wife    Shocking Ryan (1)

Ryan~While the capital bled, Greenville was about to descend into chaos.Ryan had just been informed that another meeting was being held in his company behind his back. He had stepped out for barely a moment, and that rat, Roman, had slithered in again to hold a meeting. This time, Roman wouldn’t escape. He’d kill that bastard today. That was the only thought burning through Ryan’s skull as he bolted back to the company.…The double doors burst open as Ryan barged into the meeting room, panting, wheezing, face flushed from running. All heads snapped toward him.Roman didn’t flinch. He sat casually in a leather seat, hands folded neatly on the desk, posture calm, elegant, calculated. When Ryan appeared, he leaned back and crossed his legs, adjusting the angle of his body like he owned the place.A smile spread across his face. A slow, poisonous curve that didn't reach anywhere near his eyes.Ryan’s vision blurred with rage. That smug posture. That lifted chin. That smile. He wanted t

But they chose to forget that a man like Detroit who could kill a ten-year-old child without blinking would never forgive grown devils who schemed against him and his family. “My lord, please… please. Spare us. Spare my children—” her gaze shifted and she suddenly pointed towards her children's father. “It's him!” she yelled. “It's him and his father who planned it all! They were the ones who wanted you dead. It has nothing to do with me and —”Stab. “Mother!” The woman froze as one of the assassin's blades pierced through her heart. She heard her daughter's scream but she couldn't answer it as a gurgle of blood bubbled up her lips and spilled down her chin. Her eyes rolled back, and she collapsed sideways, the blade sliding out of her chest with a wet sound. Her children screamed, a raw, tearing sound that clawed at the walls… and then, one of the woman's sons abruptly choked when another assassin grabbed him by the hair and slammed his face onto the table. Plates shattered under

  • Betrayed By Husband And Son: Rise Of A Billionaire Wife    Massacre (1)

Detroit~ The dining room was occupied by thirty to forty members. Everyone was either laughing along or nodding their heads to the schemes, except the young man sitting on a wheelchair, and the three siblings behind him – they didn't have seats on this table. They were always meant to watch everyone eat, clear the table and eat the left overs. This branch of the family had the most members because the father married one wife but had mistresses and bastards, whom he eagerly brought into the family at the expense of his wife's comfort. The woman who spoke earlier was his youngest mistress who had a son and daughter for – same ones who talked about making Silver their servant. However, this particular mistress was the cancer of this branch, the self-acclaimed matriarch, who threw the legal wife and her children out of the main manor and watched the woman die from cold, starvation, and maltreatment. As for the legal children – the ones standing behind their crippled older brother

  • Betrayed By Husband And Son: Rise Of A Billionaire Wife    It Is Starting.

She agreed, just like that?Ryan’s smile grew past his ears. He knew it. He could never take Adele seriously. She was just as predictable as ever. The sudden way she tried to act clever, the way she carried herself with that infuriating calm, it was all just a performance. A woman’s desperate act to seem untouchable. How could she truly change from the Adele he knew for twelve – thirteen years to a woman who could outmaneuver him in less than a year? Eleven months and a few days to be precise. Not even a full year had passed since he let her walk out of his life, and yet here she was, standing toe-to-toe with him – figuratively, at least, thinking she could challenge him with her audacity.Ryan leaned back in his chair, letting the leather creak under the weight of his thoughts. His pulse slowed just a fraction, though the tension in his jaw remained taut. He was mad, mostly at himself for thinking, at one point, that Adele has changed. Maybe it wasn't that he truly saw she'd change

Another pause, then a soft click.“Hold the line, please.”Ryan’s eyes darted to the scattered documents again, his pulse pounding. She was daring him. And he never took that lightly. Then, finally, the line shifted, and a voice came through, calm, controlled, but sharp as a razor.“Mr. Thompson.”Ryan’s lips curled into a cruel, calculating smile. “Adele. I see you’ve sent me a… little surprise.”Adele’s voice was almost playful. “Oh, how surprised must you have been, Mr. Thompson?”Ryan laughed darkly, the kind of laugh that sends a chill down your spine. “You're cute, Adele, really. Very cute.” He scoffed. “So, you think you can play me like that? 100 billion? Huh?!” “Too little? Okay, I'll withdraw it and ask my lawyers to draft another. 200 billion. What do you think?” “Adele!!”Adele didn’t flinch. In fact, she sounded amused, which only made the vein in Ryan’s neck throb harder.“Yes, Mr. Thompson?” she answered sweetly. “You raised your voice like you wanted my attention. I
