“No news yet, sir. The CCTV cameras were all out of order that night due to a power outage. There are no identifiable witnesses either. I’ve checked everywhere, but there’s no information at all,” Jo’s voice came through the phone.

Leon growled softly, holding back his frustration. “It’s been a week! How can a girl just disappear without a trace?!”

“I’ll keep looking, Mr. Leon.”

Click.

The phone was hung up roughly. Leon stared ahead expressionlessly, but his jaw tightened. His hands clenched on his knees.

From the seat next to him, Giselle glanced at him. This was the moment. She had to speak up.

“Mr. Leon…” Giselle began softly.

“Hm?” Leon muttered without turning his head.

“I—”

“I’m amazed at how this world is full of useless people who are paid handsomely but produce zero results,” Leon interrupted, staring out the window.

Giselle took a deep breath. “I just wanted to say that—”

“And why does everyone feel the need to meddle in my life? Including you. You can’t even sit still,” Leon interrupted again, his voice growing sharper.

Giselle turned abruptly, glaring at Leon. “Goodness! Can’t I speak without being interrupted for once?!”

Leon turned quickly. “Why? Can’t you stand not being noticed?”

“No! I just wanted to talk about—”

“I don’t need your lecture, Giselle.”

That was it. Giselle leaned back angrily. “You’re such a annoying man. I regret marrying you.”

Leon raised his eyebrows. “You think I’m happy marrying a materialistic, cheap girl like you!”

Giselle turned sharply. “Hey, listen, Mr. Devil. If circumstances hadn’t forced me to do this, I wouldn’t have agreed to marry a cruel man like you. Especially not to the point of...”

The car suddenly slowed down. The driver turned, “We’ve arrived, Miss.”

Without waiting any longer, Giselle opened the door and got out. She walked quickly toward the campus gate, trying to forget the recent argument.

But fate, as always, likes to play tricks. By the campus garden stood two familiar figures: Dirly—her former boyfriend, the betrayer—and Aura, the beautiful professor who had been the secret lover of Giselle’s ex-boyfriend.

“Oh, look who’s here,” Aura’s voice rang out loudly, accompanied by a mocking laugh that pierced Giselle’s ears. “Giselle Gabrelia, the student who now lives off the charity of the wealthy. Or maybe she’s already become the mistress of some handsome uncle or sugar daddy.”

Dirly wrapped his arm around Aura’s waist, glaring at Giselle with a sneer. “I thought you’d moved to another planet. Turns out you’re still in school, huh? Where’s the money coming from? Aren’t you supposed to be broke now?”

Giselle hissed. “Dirly, Aura, can’t you just come here without bringing your trashy mouths?”

Dirly laughed. “I’m just feeling sorry for you. You used to be the daughter of a nobleman. Now you’re poor. How pitiful!”

Giselle remained silent. Her hands clenched into fists. But her face remained calm.

Then she turned around, roughly opening Leon’s car door.

“Hey! What are you—”

Giselle forcefully pulled Leon’s hand. “Get out!”

Leon tried to resist, but Giselle’s eyes blazed with hatred. She dragged Leon a few steps until he stood directly in front of Dirly and Aura.

“This is my husband,” Giselle declared loudly. Then, without warning, she grabbed Leon’s jacket collar and kissed him on the lips. Despite the contract clearly stating that Giselle’s status as Leon’s wife must remain confidential.

Leon froze.

His eyes widened, his heart seemed to stop for a moment. Giselle’s kiss successfully made his body tense.

Dirly and Aura were speechless.

Giselle slowly released the kiss, then glanced at Dirly. “What do you think? Will you still oppress me now that you know I’m Mr. Leon’s wife?”

Aura choked. “Impossible!!”

Leon finally blinked, though he was still confused.

Giselle gently tapped Leon’s cheek. “Come on, dear, take me to class. I’m afraid someone might bully me again,” Giselle pleaded playfully.

Without waiting for a response, Giselle walked into the campus building with her head held high, holding Leon’s hand.

“Wait!” Leon said.

“What else is there, Mr. Leon? Don’t get angry yet.” Giselle looked pleadingly at him.

“You’ve already dared to kiss my lips twice in one day. So....”

Chapter 93That morning, the road leading to De Santos Group was still busy with traffic. Joe drove with focus, though his mind was still filled with what had happened the night before. Mr. Leon had just woken up from his coma.“I really hope the boss has truly changed,” Joe muttered while glancing at the rearview mirror. But suddenly, his attention shifted. Across the street, near a quiet little café, he spotted a figure he recognized instantly — Mrs. Qiara. She was wearing a simple cream dress, dark sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat, as if trying to hide her identity. But what made Joe’s breath hitch wasn’t her disguise — it was the man standing in front of her.Instinctively, Joe pulled the car over and turned off the engine. He leaned forward slightly, observing from a distance. Their lips were moving tensely — it was clear they were arguing.Joe took out his phone, switched on the camera, and began recording discreetly.“You’re insane, Faisal!” Qiara’s sharp voice carried even f

Chapter 92The air in the hospital room felt calm, filled only with the rhythmic sound of the heart monitor. Soft white light filtered through the thin curtains, reflecting gently off the pale walls. On the bed lay Leon De Santos, his shoulder and chest wrapped in bandages. His breathing had grown steadier, though his face remained pale.Madam Hansel sat in the chair beside his bed, holding her son’s hand with tear-stained eyes. She had barely slept all night.“Thank goodness you finally woke up, son,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “You almost gave Mommy a heart attack from worrying.”Leon slowly opened his eyes. His voice was hoarse, but a faint smile appeared.“Mommy... you’re too noisy,” he murmured weakly. “I’m not dead yet, relax.”Madam Hansel shook her head, tears falling again.“Don’t say things like that, Leon. Do you think Mommy can handle all this? You almost left me, son…”Leon looked at her for a long moment. Then, with what little strength he had, he squeezed her h

Chapter 91After leaving the park, Leon went straight to his underground headquarters — a place known only to a handful of his most trusted people. The base was hidden beneath an old building in the city center, concealed behind a secret elevator that could only be accessed with fingerprint and voice recognition.Upon his arrival, he was immediately greeted by Joe.“Sir, the report from the eastern team just came in,” Joe said quickly. “But there’s something strange in the communication line. Some of our messages were intercepted.”Leon stared at the large monitor in front of them. Dozens of data streams moved rapidly, indicating suspicious activity.“Who dares to touch my system?” he muttered coldly. “We’ve already warned them, haven’t we?”Joe nodded. “Yes, Sir. But it seems this isn’t an ordinary attack.”Leon’s eyes narrowed. “Strengthen the security system. Shut down all external access. I want to know who’s behind this.”Just as he turned toward his private control room, the ala

Children ran around laughing, while parents sat on long benches, enjoying their leisurely time.Giselle sat under a shady tree, watching Gesha run around the playground blowing soap bubbles.“Wait, Sweetheart! After a long and tiring day, she could finally breathe easily. While waiting for Gesha to play, Giselle bought two ice cream cones from a small stall near the park. But before she could return to the bench where she had been sitting, a small voice came from the playground area.“Excuse me, handsome uncle…”Giselle turned instinctively. That morning,Giselle stepped out of the car with Gesha, who was clutching her stuffed bunny tightly.“Wow, Mommy… is this the house?” Gesha asked, her eyes sparkling.Giselle smiled softly. “Yes, Sweetheart. This is the house where Mommy grew up.”The house still stood strong, even though it had been unoccupied for a long time.“It looks like something from a movie,” Gesha said in awe. “The house is so big!”“Your grandparents used to live here,” Giselle explained as she pushed open the heavy iron gate. “Now… this house belongs to us.”Gesha jumped excitedly. “Yay! So I get a big room too?”“Of course,” Giselle answered with a laugh. They walked inside. The air in the house was slightly damp, but it still felt warm and full of memories. On the living room wall, family portraits were still neatly hung. Leon was still sitting in his study. The ceiling light reflected off the neat surface of his desk, while several important documents lay open before him. But his mind wasn’t there. The image of Giselle kept dancing in his head, every word she had spoken replaying endlessly. He stared blankly at the untouched cup of cold coffee in front of him. “Damn,” he muttered under his breath. “Why am I still like this?”A soft knock came from the door. Without waiting for an answer, someone entered with light footsteps.“Brooding this early in the morning, Leon?” a playful voice teased.Leon looked up. Qiara. She wore a soft cream satin dress, her hair neatly draped over her shoulders, and in her hands was a tray carrying a cup of hot coffee.“What is it?” he asked flatly.Qiara smiled sweetly. “You haven’t rested since last night. I made you coffee to help you stay awake.”Leon exhaled shortly. “You didn’t have to bother, Qiara. I can make it myself.”“But I’m your wife, Leon.” Qiara stepped clo
