    Astrella Honey's point of view

The next morning, everything felt painfully sharp.

Today was Jasper’s day. Or maybe, more accurately, his final day.

None of us were pretending this was a normal Tuesday.

This safehouse was isolated for a reason. It was completely outside all our families’ maps, no Moretti claim, no Igor backing. Which translates to, if the cops catch us, we're entirely on our own, with zero connections to bail us out. But the cops were everywhere. Not just one or two, there were way too many blue-and-whites circling, and they were breathing down our necks.

they weren't watching. Just fvcking perfect.

  • Betrayed In The Mafia's Bed    Ch. 83: Finished

Astrella Honey's point of view The deafening sound of the gunshot still rang violently in my ears. But my eyes were already locked on the aftermath. Jasper was definitely hit. I saw it with sickening clarity, blood spurting violently from his side, dark and thick, splashing against the concrete floor as he slammed hard into the wall. His gun slipped from his hand, clattering uselessly as he slid down, choking on his own breath. Dax shot him. Not me. That truth slammed into my chest so hard my knees nearly buckled with relief and shame. But there was no time to even breathe that realization in. Because in the next second, all hell broke loose. “Contact! Contact!” someone screamed, and the entire basement dissolved into chaos. The remaining men surged forward, desperate and furious, firing wildly now that their leader was a bloody mess on the floor. Bullets shrieked and ricocheted. Glass sha

  • Betrayed In The Mafia's Bed    Ch. 82: Manipulative

Astrella Honey's point of view “What the fuck,” I breathed out. My eyes widened to saucers and I wasn’t the only one. Ciejill sucked in a sharp, painful breath beside me, her fingers loosening so suddenly that her gun nearly slipped from her grip. Mine jerked upward on instinct, almost firing straight at Jasper before my brain could catch up with my sudden, panicked body. There he was. Jasper stood at the far corner of the room, backed against the damp concrete like a king pretending to be cornered. Beside him, mounted high on the wall, was a massive flat-screen TV glowing far too brightly for a basement soaked in blood and gun smoke. Then everything fractured. I felt it before I fully registered the scene the shift, the terrifying tension slicing through the air like a razor wire. My gun was no longer aimed at Jasper. It

Astrella Honey's point of view “Okay, everyone, listen up,” Dax announced, his hands clapping three times, a sharp, commanding sound that instantly silenced the room. Every eye locked on him.“Target relocated. It's Quiapo now, not Palawan. There’s a bar there with a basement, clean operations upstairs, and illegal operations underground.” His gaze swept the room, lethal and focused. “We hit the basement.”Before I could stake my claim, Igor stepped forward, slipping into strict mission mode. “It’s about a thirty-five-minute drive if we don’t get stuck in traffic. So gear up. We leave now. Astrella rides with Dax. I’ll take the second car.”I raised a brow. “Of course I’m with Dax—”The door slammed inward before I could finish what I'm about to say next.“Oh my gooosh, did you seriously forget us?” Ciejill announced dramatically, swaggering into the room like she owned the place. “That hurts, you know!”I groaned i

  • Betrayed In The Mafia's Bed    Ch. 79: Fake

Astrella Honey's point of view Igor spilled the whole thing, he told the story with so much heart, it was almost overwhelming. It all started when I was born. That feeling I sometimes got, that strange sense that someone was always watching me? That was him. Igor is actually a Russian Mafia leader, and his life has been focused on finding this guy named Tomasso for years. Tomasso used to be his trusted Capo, but he betrayed Igor during an ambush by some rivals. Tomasso didn't just abandon him; he kidnapped his wife and kid, stole a ton of money, and started selling information to the enemy. That betrayal hit Igor hard; he had to recover from the ambush, and my mother, who was a seriously brilliant writer, which is where I get my thing for words—died. But the story gets crazier. Igor learned that Tomasso eventually became a Capo for Dax Donomie. And get this: Tomasso got desperate, ran up debts with his son’s mistakes, a

  • Betrayed In The Mafia's Bed    Ch. 78: Closure

Astrella Honey's point of view     I just sat there, totally frozen. Honestly, out of all the crazy things I thought Igor was going to say, that was not on the list.    ''I don't think you're going to forgive me any easier," he said quietly, still staring straight ahead, his voice heavy with regret. "I kept my distance for years because I knew the things I’m capable of. I was afraid of the kind of danger I would bring to your life."     "I watched you from a distance. Kept you safe. I was waiting for things to finally fall apart, because when a person's world is burning, it's easier to pull them out of the fire. I thought... maybe I could snatch you away. Away from Jasper. Even from Dax, honestly."    My breath just hitched, barely loud enough to hear. He was talking like someone finally confessing a secret to a priest, so quiet and intense.    He kept going, his voice getting softer. “But everything changed the day I saw you
