Chapter 017: It can’t be true!

Dante went straight into his study room the moment he withdrew from Lyra. He locked up the door and collapsed on one of the chairs, his palms supporting his head and his elbows resting against the edge of the table. He was not thinking straight; his mind kept bringing up the image of Lyra. He couldn't explain why he was feeling this way—the tenderness, the eagerness to please. "Or was it pity?" He muttered to himself.

He sighed and rubbed his hair, still unable to arrive at a definite conclusion about what he was feeling.

"Maybe I should just call someone who will understand better."

He brought out his phone and dialed his sister's number.

"Hey D, what's up?" Her tiny voice asked after picking up.

"Hello, Mira," Dante answered weakly, so she could notice the tiredness in his voice.

"You sound exhausted; what's wrong?"

Dante nodded and went on to explain all he had been feeling for the past few days to her.
