Damn David. I knew he was shameless, but I never imagined he was this bad. I do not know what made me hit him, but as blood started gushing from his nose, I felt a sharp pain in my hand and all the way up my arm, practically to my shoulder. It felt so good! What followed felt like it happened entirely in slow motion. David screamed, holding his face with both hands, trying to cover his nosebleed. His parents screamed in shock at seeing me presumably disfigure their precious prince. As for me, I felt a smile spread across my face. Who knew I had a fist of steel? My satisfaction only grew as I watched him doubled over, screaming in pain. I am not going to lie, it hurt a lot. I started flexing my fingers to make sure nothing was broken. I was new to this; I had never hit anyone in my life, but that did not matter right now. I was certain I had done the right thing. If anyone ever needed to be punched, it was David. His parents were rushing around trying to help their son. His mother shot me looks of pure hatred, while his father grabbed the phone to call God knows who. I looked at them before letting out a laugh. I ripped the damn ring off my finger and threw it at him. "Here is this piece of trash. I hope you enjoyed making a fool out of me, David, because this is where it ends." I was ready to leave, but I should have known they would not let me. Mr. Lane grabbed my arm and forced me to sit in one of the nearest chairs, surely waiting for the police. With the utmost dignity, I sat there, ready to face whatever was coming. They could arrest me. At least I had avenged my pride, and to me, that was worth everything. Minutes later, I heard a knock at the door, and all I could think was, Wow! The police do not show up this fast to stop robberies, but they sure do to check on a broken nose, which was still bleeding and giving me great satisfaction. What I did not expect was that it was not exactly the police who showed up, but my father. "I forbade you from causing a scene, April. What the hell have you done? Look at what you did to David." I kept flexing my hand, since they were not even decent enough to give me some ice. "I did not say what I wanted to, Dad, I just defended myself the best way I could. If you think this is not enough, I can tell them who I caught David with." With that, every eye was on me. "Get ready, you spoiled brat, because you are going to be arrested after this. What you did is assault," his mother screamed like a maniac. "If you want, we can take legal action, I have no problem with that. How does emotional distress sound, David?" He just shot me hateful glares through his bloodied face. "I do not think that is a good idea for anyone. I am not pressing charges, Mother, things just got out of hand." "No, I will not have it. This girl comes in here and hits you as she pleases. I am sorry, Anthony, but your daughter is a criminal." "Given the circumstances, I do not think a scandal is what you need, Teresa." For the first time, I smiled at my father. "What kind of scandal? It is her word against my son's, and he is the victim here." Oh, yeah, right. "Well, that is not entirely true," I murmured innocently. "You see, when I found David, I took a picture of his... affair?" Which was a lie; I wish I had. But that was enough to make everyone's face drop. "Enough! I said I will not press charges. And as for you, April, I think it is best if you leave and never come back. You are not worth a piece of shit." My blood boiled hearing him say that. "I would punch you again, but I will not break my hand over a piece of trash like you. Fuck you, David! Go fuck yourself! Although I think someone already did on our wedding day." And with that, I walked out, but as I was leaving the house, I heard Mrs. Lane screaming. "We will tell everyone this was her fault. After all, she is just a slut who has been rolling around God knows where..." I felt fury, not blood, bubbling in my veins. That was it. If they wanted to play, we would play. My father gave me a defeated look, because he knew what I was about to do. "Well, if you want to tell everyone something, tell them the truth, Mrs. Lane!" After this, not only would my hand hurt, but my throat would too. I saw a few neighbors walking over and I dropped the bomb. "Tell them I left your son at the altar when I caught him fucking the best man! Tell them the truth, that he is gay!" After those words came out of my mouth, Mrs. Lane ran toward me, probably wanting to tackle me. But my father was faster, grabbing my arm and pulling me out of there. The screaming could still be heard through the car windows, but it was over. I hope David rots in hell.APRIL"April, what is wrong?" It was the third time Summer had asked me without getting an answer. "Come on, trust me, I do not like seeing you like this.""We need to get Mr. Patterson's bulldog ready, he will be by to pick him up in 20 minutes. Can you check that everything is in perfect condition?""Sure, April, I will do it right away." She sighs, annoyed, but I will not say anything to her."Thanks..." I could not help but replay the conversation with my father over and over in my head.Around noon, I see Ryan walk through the door. We had agreed to have lunch together, but with everything going on, I had forgotten."Bunny." Just that makes me relax. Taking me by the waist, he leaned in to place a kiss on my lips. "I hope you are ready to get out of here." I simply wrapped my arms around his shoulders and hugged him.I needed a hug so much today."So my mother was not wrong, and you really are a slut?" That voice, one I had loved so much over the years, and now it only makes me f
MeganI do not think I have ever seen anyone as upset as Jack is right now.On the way to his house, he did not say a single word. I guess his head was full of things, while I did not say anything because I was too scared to open my mouth. When we walked into his house, things did not change much. His body was giving off a sort of "do not come near me" signal, and God knows I was not going to."What were you thinking? I only asked you to stay inside." Even though he did not yell, his tone made me feel so small."I wanted to be responsible...""Do not lie to me, angel, and do not lie to yourself. What you wanted was to prove that you are not weak. You thought, I will go to school and show everyone they are exaggerating. Well, breaking news, you were wrong, and you exposed everyone in a ridiculous way.""I know I made a mistake, but I really did not think he would dare. The school was full.""The building I pulled you out of was too, and that did not stop him from setting it on fire. Yo
JackWe were called for an apparent emergency, but when we arrived, there was nothing. I cannot believe people joke about this; while we are coming here, we might be needed somewhere else. My annoyance only grows. I still haven't spoken to my angel; I am getting the damn cold shoulder just for wanting to protect her. I look for my phone thinking about calling her to see how everything is going, but I cannot find it. I hope I did not lose it."Jack, we have a problem." I looked at Nathan, who was holding his phone."What happened now? A fake cat stuck in an imaginary tree?" I sighed in anger."No, actually, it is a moon trapped in a school, with a fire and a wolf," he shakes his head as I erupt."She dared to escape! I asked her to stay in the house. Is she foolish?" I growled so loudly that my teammates took a step back."Calm down, Jack, Ryan is taking care of it." Nathan's amused tone had vanished."Let's go to the school," I say, already heading to the truck. "What are you waiting
Megan"Children, continue with your work, I will be right back." I walk out of the classroom with a calmness that I clearly lack. I approach the door to Susan's classroom and knock until she comes out."What is wrong? You are pale and you look scared." Her look is worried. Do I really look that bad?"He is here. My God, Susan, I should have listened to Jack. Do not tell him I said that, but I cannot believe he actually dared to come. What are we going to do now?""I will go find Jeremy, you call Jack." What? No..."Um... no. We can solve this. I am not suicidal enough to tell him I sneaked out. Susan, I am sure he hasn't even noticed yet.""Do not start right now," she looks at me, annoyed. "Call him, this is serious, Meg." And with that she leaves, surely to look for Jeremy.I look through the door's window at the calm children, oblivious to the lunatic nearby. I cannot be so selfish and not protect them. Sighing, I take out my phone and prepare for a battle I have already lost. I he
MeganTelling Susan that I would stay with Jack was not as easy as I thought, especially with her making a scene. The good thing was Jeremy's presence and the fact that Jack promised he would not let anything happen to me. But that was a walk in the park compared to the conversation I am having right now with Jack."You cannot tell me not to go to work, that is crazy. Do you understand that it is my responsibility?""Now is not the time, angel, you do not understand things. Here at home you will be safe, there is no need for you to expose yourself like that." My eyes narrow and my patience reaches its limit."If this is how it is going to be, I am leaving. Not just to work, I am leaving this place. You do not own me, Jack. I have been working non-stop for two years, I cannot just leave everything hanging, do you understand? Besides, Susan and Jeremy will be there, they will not leave me alone, nothing will happen to me.""You are not going, angel, and that is my final word." Damn poss
MeganI see him before me, and he looks devastated. Perhaps I am being selfish; it cannot be easy to tell someone you are a wolf. I am a damn selfish witch!"What you said does not bother me. I was surprised that you were a wolf, but I am scared of what you might do to me." His expression is uncertain, and I know that is my fault."I would never do anything to you, angel. To hurt you would be to hurt myself. Since I discovered you were my mate, I have done nothing but protect you. After what happened yesterday, I have no intention of letting you out of my sight, even if you do not want me around." He lowers himself, sitting against the wall just like me. "I will not be like your ex-boyfriend. I intend to protect you from him.""When you asked me if I believed in the supernatural, well, I thought you had already figured it out. I mean, I never imagined you would tell me you were one yourself. I knew you were hiding something from me, but I thought of many different things." I was so wr
