Chapter 42

Mia stared at Alexandria's lifeless body, her heart heavy with grief and anger. She couldn't believe that her sister had gone against their pack and paid the ultimate price for it. Mia swallowed her tears, refusing to let them fall. She had to be strong for her pack, for Alexandria, and for herself.

Mia commanded that they take Alexandria's body back to their village, where they could give her a proper burial. She watched as her packmates carefully lifted Alexandria's body and carried her away. Mia couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt wash over her. Maybe if she had tried harder to talk to Alexandria, to understand why she had turned against their pack, things could have been different.
