>>Portia

Oh wow

I looked around me.

It’s just like in the movies.

I was surrounded by tall buildings and so many people. There were humans everywhere. The place was full of them, running to wherever they needed to be and it was a bit overwhelming.

The werewolf packs are a place where there are a concentrated number of people but the city just looks so full. And there’s so much noise everywhere. Pack areas are so much calmer.

I gulped as I kept looking around feeling uneasy.

I’m here, I managed to escape, but what now?

Where do I go?

The driver who saved me from Egon asked me how I ended up in that situation and I told him I was camping with some friends who managed to run away but I got caught by that monster.

He bought it, he was pretty shaken up by the experience and asked where to drop me off. And even though there were a couple of towns in our path, I told him I was going to the city.

When he asked which city, I told him to take me wherever he was going. I talked pretty suspiciously but he still complied. Maybe he took it that I was in shock too and didn’t question me much.

It was a ten-hour drive and he dropped me off in the middle of the city where I am standing now, but I have no idea where to go from here. My heart was pounding and I was scared.

I was in an unknown place, among unknown people, with no money, and no experience.

I took a deep breath and pursed my lips.

Where do I start?

I need to get a job right? So I can at least eat but where will I live?

I groaned, then a sly broken smile spread across my face as the realization of my reality began to set in. I really did just run away on an impulse. I have nothing planned and no idea what to do…

I began to walk in the streets. It’s a good thing that I at least ran away in casual clothes. I’m wearing some baggy jeans and a button-up shirt.

I started looking at the shops. Maybe I can find work as a part-timer?

***

No regular place was ready to hire me. I didn’t have an ID card to provide them with and no background. I don’t have any guardian or a friend to opt for me either.

And now I’m standing in front of the worst place to work at.

I haven’t eaten anything for three days and the hunger has driven me to stand in front of a strip club or is it a nightclub?

The sun was setting, coloring the sky a darker shade. For the past three days, I only had water and slept under a bridge. The experience was terrible, especially so because I was injured too.

I kept looking at the sign in the alleyway but couldn’t bring myself to actually go in.

Then, I heard someone walk toward me. Her heels clicked against the floor and she walked by me and I turned my head to look at the tall gorgeous tan woman who suddenly stopped in her path. She was wearing a tight mini-skirt and a fur jacket. She was a brunette with dark brown eyes.

She spun her head around and looked at me and I was a little startled, “Looking for a show?” She gave me a sly smile, “The club opens after seven though.”

Her words made me flustered, “Ah!” I raised my hands to tell her she was getting the wrong idea but before I could defend myself, I was further degraded.

My stomach growled out loud making my as well her eyes grow wide. My cheeks flushed in embarrassment while she just scoffed playfully.

“Ah~” She grinned, “You’re looking for a job.” She folded her arms and examined me from top to bottom, “I doubt you can do this though,” She shook her head and smirked, “You don’t have that vibe.”

I pursed my lips and looked down. I didn’t have an answer for her. I did come here to get myself a job but I also know I’ll never be able to do anything like this.

I mean, it’s a strip club! If I’m right…

I looked down in shame, “I have no money…”

She snickered but it wasn’t the kind where she was taunting me, “We all come here for the exact same reason.”  The sound of a car approaching us made her look at the vehicle, “But to be a dancer, you have to give up certain things and you have to have a certain set of skills to get this job.”

I looked at her softly, “Do I have none?”

“Have you ever danced before?” I shook my head and she smirked, “Have you ever stripped down butt naked in front of anyone?”

Her words made me flush and I immediately shook my head, “No…”

“Do you have the courage to do it in front of a whole crowd of lecherous men?”

It’s not like it was happening to me but just the thought of it made my heart drop to the pit of my stomach and I felt nauseous.

The woman saw that and looked toward the car that was parked behind me, “And so I doubt my boss would hire you.” The car door opened and then closed.

I heard someone approach us, “Jena,” It was a man’s voice.

“Boss!” The woman in front of me exclaimed delightfully, “How come you’re here?”

“I have a meeting here.” He noticed me and I turned to look at him, “And who’s this-” He stopped when our eyes met and I felt a zap of electricity in my body.

Mate

My eyes went wide as I got confused but my wolf was somehow happy looking at the tall blonde-haired man.

Mate!!

Wait! What? No! That’s not possible. How can I feel this bond? It’s not as strong as when I met Egon but it’s there. How? This doesn’t happen!?

“Oh!” The gorgeous man with green eyes seemed to be taken aback, “Hi,” I could tell he was flustered just like me.

“H-hello.” I replied nervously.

How was this possible?

I can’t have two mates, it’s not possible- Wait

Something clicked in my mind. Something wolves are taught about lycans since there are some differences between us. Lycans are superior to werewolves, their packs only consist of lycans but their mates are called something else since their bond is stronger and meant to last an eternity.

Egon’s a lycan and I’m not, I’m a werewolf. My heart began to pound in my chest as I understood what was happening.

Egon’s not my mate, he’s my erasthai. He has a stronger bond with me. I felt it, it was different than this but this man here, I have a bond with him too. It’s weaker but it’s definitely there. I can feel the attraction and I’m sure he does too.

“I’m Derek.” He smiled at me making my heart flutter.

Derek is my mate.

    >>Jenny“Alright then,” We waited till another music piece started, “It’s really not hard. Since you’re smart. You’ll do great.”I nodded and as another piece started we swayed to the rhythm of the music, our bodies moving in sync. It was really easy to follow Koen’s lead, especially because he was going slow for me so that I could catch up.In the midst of the dance, I couldn't resist the urge to tease him, probably because I was on an edge and needed to divert my attention from the problem tugging at my brain. I was being bolder than usual. Leaning in closer, I whispered into his ear, my voice laced with a playful edge. "You know," I murmured, my breath tickling his skin, "I heard that kissing burns calories, wanna test that theory?"
