Chapter 1

Yvette Johnson never would have learned their secret if she had not fallen down the stairs and lost her baby.

As she drifted in and out of consciousness, she overheard a conversation between Jordan, Xander, and Jade.

"You two are so good to me. All I had to do was ask, and you made sure Yvette lost her baby. What if she wakes up and finds out she's lost the child she wanted so badly? Won't she be furious?"

Jordan Spencer lounged lazily. A mocking glint flashed in his dark eyes. "How could she ever deserve to have our child? We've been secretly giving her birth control for years. Who knew she'd get so lucky…?"

"She throws herself at us every time. We only give in once in a while." Xander Spencer looked up. His voice was cold and merciless. "But I've already told the doctor to remove her uterus. She'll never have a chance to get pregnant again."

Jade Harrison looked disappointed. "It's just a shame we'll never know whether the baby was Xander's or Jordan's."

Yvette finally realized the horrifying truth. For seven whole years, she had been nothing more than a wife shared by two brothers!

Nothing could have been more disgusting or infuriating. The shock and rage overwhelmed her. She suffered severe uterine bleeding, and the doctors could not save her. She was pronounced dead.

…

When Yvette opened her eyes again, she was back on her wedding night with Jordan.

She stared at him with a strange look in her eyes. Jordan's dark eyes turned cold. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Yvette thought back to five years before the wedding.

After the truth about her and Jade's identities first came out, the marriage arrangement between the Johnson and Spencer families fell to Yvette.

She had been switched at birth, and when she returned to the Johnson family, she felt completely out of place, even around her own biological parents.

The Johnsons were a wealthy family, and Yvette had grown up in an orphanage. She knew nothing about the rules and etiquette of high society.

She made a fool of herself more times than she could count, and many people looked down on her.

But Jordan had always been there for her. He had protected her and kept her company.

Whenever people mocked her, he would step in front of her and stand up for her.

Whenever people made snide remarks about her, he would fire back without hesitation.

She was like a fledgling, and the tenderness beneath his cold exterior won her heart.

So, when her parents asked which of the Spencer twins she wanted to marry, she chose Jordan without a second thought.

She never imagined that Jordan had been putting on an act. Deep down, he had never wanted to marry her. Over the next seven years of their marriage, he and Xander had taken turns spending time with her.

Yvette's heart felt like it had been ripped apart. She swallowed her bitterness and shook her head gently. "It's nothing."

Jordan placed his hand on her head and calmly said, "Get some rest. I'm going over to Xander's."

Yvette's heart sank. Her eyes widened in disbelief.

Yvette remembered that the same thing had happened in her previous life. Was the man who had spent her wedding night with her... not even Jordan?

She watched Jordan leave and fought back her pain. Then, she quietly followed him.

Through a crack in the door, she overheard him talking to Xander.

"It's your wedding night, and you still came to switch places with me?"

"So what if it's my wedding night? I only love Jade. Besides, your week with Jade is up. It's my turn to be with her today."

Xander furrowed his thick brows. "What about your wedding night? Do you expect me to sleep with Yvette in your place?"

Jordan motioned for Xander to exchange clothes with him. He looked completely unconcerned. "Her eyesight is already bad, and I put eye drops in her eyes this morning. She can't tell us apart.

"What difference does it make whether you sleep with her or I do?"

"So, you really thought of everything." Xander took off his clothes and handed them to Jordan. His voice was cold.

"First, you caused a car accident that damaged Yvette's eyes. Then, you pretended to care about her and gave her dilating eye drops every day to keep her vision blurry. Otherwise, our arrangement wouldn't have worked so smoothly."

"Grandpa's the one who insisted we marry her." Jordan straightened his collar. His tone was full of irritation.

"He even warned us that we had to treat her well and were never allowed to divorce her. Otherwise, we wouldn't even have to put ourselves through all this trouble."

Yvette's mind went blank. The shock was so overwhelming that her whole body trembled uncontrollably.

After she got engaged to Jordan, she had been in a terrible car accident that had nearly blinded her.

Jordan had stayed by her side and cared for her every step of the way. He had even claimed to have invested a fortune in developing eye drops to restore her sight, and he personally applied them for her every day.

She had been deeply touched by his devotion, and her love for him had only grown stronger. She never imagined that it had all been a scheme!

The worst part was that the man who had spent her wedding night with her in her past life had not been Jordan either!

Jordan… How could he do that to her?

How could he treat her so cruelly?

She fled the villa and called Yale Peterson.

"Yale, I've made up my mind. I'll go with you to the war zone and spend ten years working for Doctors Without Borders."

Yale usually had a carefree, joking tone, but his voice grew serious. "But… Yvette, didn't you say you wanted to spend the rest of your life with Jordan?"

Yvette let her tears fall freely. "I don't love him anymore. I'll never love him again."

If he did not love her, she would leave.

She wanted no part of their twisted love game.

Yale sensed that something had happened, but he did not press her for details. "Okay. I'll meet you at Jeverton Airport in fifteen days."

Peter Johnson and Rebecca rushed to the hospital as soon as they heard the news.First, Rebecca slapped Jordan hard across the face. She pointed at him and unleashed her fury."What has my daughter ever done to deserve this? How could you treat her like this? If anything happens to her, the Johnson family will never forgive you!"Jordan stood there like a lifeless puppet. He did not react as Rebecca hit him again and again to vent her anger.News of the incident also reached the Spencer family.Evan Spencer, Jordan's grandfather, was so ashamed that he could barely face Rebecca and Peter. He kept apologizing to them."I failed to raise my grandson properly. Please don't be angry. I promise I'll make him answer for what he's done."Rebecca held Yvette's hand and looked at her pale face. Tears filled her eyes as her heart ached for her daughter."If Jordan and Xander loved Jade, they could have just told us the truth. We wouldn't have forced them into this marriage. But what gave

The moment they entered the villa, Jordan shoved Yvette to the floor. His handsome face was dark with fury. "Have you lost your mind? Why did you play that recording?"Yvette's lower back slammed into the table, and a sharp pain shot through her. She slowly got back to her feet as Jordan glared at her furiously."Jordan, do you know something?" She let out a mocking laugh. Her face was full of scorn. "Your belated love is worthless to me. Do you think throwing me a birthday party makes up for everything? Even if you gave me the whole world, I would still feel nothing but disgust for you."Jordan's jaw clenched. He raised his hand and slapped her hard across the face. Then, he turned to his bodyguards and ordered, "Lock Mrs. Spencer in her room and chain her to the bed. Don't let her out without my permission."Yvette did not resist. She let the bodyguards take her back to her room and chain her to the bed.Her heart had turned cold the moment Jordan forced her to return home.S

Yvette had no choice but to return home with Jordan. Before she left, she went to say goodbye to Yale.Yale sounded anxious. His eyes held an emotion she could not quite understand. "Didn't you say you didn't love Jordan anymore? Why are you going back with him?"Yvette lowered her gaze to hide the bitterness in her eyes. She forced a casual smile. "We're married. Couples can't stay mad at each other forever."The light in Yale's eyes slowly faded. He forced a smile. "That's true. Besides, it's so dangerous here. I wouldn't feel comfortable if you stayed."Yvette gave him a small smile, but tears welled up in her eyes. "Let's meet again when you return to Jeverton. Yale, please stay safe and take good care of yourself."Yale nodded. Only then did she return to her temporary accommodation to pack her bags. After that, she boarded a flight home with Jordan. After three months away, the villa that had once felt so familiar seemed strangely foreign. It was as if she had returned to a

When Yvette arrived at the hospital, she devoted herself to treating the wounded. She barely had time to think about Jordan. She worked nonstop until noon when she ran into Yale, who had brought her lunch.Yale took one look at her exhausted face, and his heart ached for her. He opened the lunch box and set it in front of her."I know you're worried about the patients, but you can't neglect your own health. Look at the time! If I hadn't brought you lunch, would you have gone without eating?"Yvette gave him an embarrassed smile. "I didn't feel hungry, so I forgot to eat."Yale gave her a helpless look. When he saw how quickly she devoured her food, he poured her a glass of water. Then, a worried look crossed his face as he remembered something. "I heard Jordan made a huge donation to the hospital."Yvette paused with her spoon in her hand. She pressed her lips together and replied indifferently, "Let him."He could donate as much as he wanted. She had already decided that she w

Yvette knew Jordan well enough to know that he would never give up until he got what he wanted.Sure enough, when she stepped outside early the next morning, she found Jordan waiting for her at the door. The moment he saw her, he held out a stack of photos."Yvette, Jade hurt you and framed you. I've already made sure she paid for what she did. These photos are proof."Yvette did not even glance at them. She walked around him and headed out."I'm not interested."Whether Jade lived or died was none of her concern. She no longer cared about Jade at all.Suddenly, Jordan grabbed her wrist again. Her back hit his hard chest. He wrapped his arms tightly around her waist and gritted his teeth."Yvette, I know I was wrong. After you left, I realized I'd fallen in love with you a long time ago. I've already punished Jade. What else do I have to do for you to forgive me?"He missed the way Yvette used to treat him so well. He missed the way she smiled and called his name, how she al

Jordan stared at the face he had dreamed of seeing every day for the past three months. His eyes brimmed with longing."Yvette, I finally found you."Nearly three months earlier, he had used the information Xander gave him to follow Yvette to Haverland. However, the country was in the middle of a war, so finding her had been extremely difficult. He had searched one war zone after another.
