A cool breeze swept across the stone bridge, carrying the scent of wildflowers and the distant sound of flowing water. Above them, two moons shone against a sapphire sky, while floating islands drifted lazily overhead. Liana couldn't take her eyes off the mysterious man standing at the entrance of the bridge. His white robes fluttered gently in the wind, and the silver mask covering the upper half of his face concealed every emotion except the determination in his piercing blue eyes. His crystal spear remained pointed toward Kael and Liana. "Tell me," he repeated calmly. "Which of you is willing to sacrifice everything for the other?" The question echoed across the valley. Neither Kael nor Liana answered immediately. Commander Rylan instinctively stepped forward. "We don't have time for riddles." The masked guardian slowly turned his head toward him. "This trial is not yours." Before Rylan could react, an invisible force pushed him backward. He landed several feet away but was unharmed. "The Road of Guardians recognizes only two participants," the guardian continued. "The Guardian..." "And the Prince." Kael tightened his grip on his sword. "If we refuse to answer?" "You may turn back." Liana glanced behind her. The great stone door through which they had entered was gone. There was only endless mist. "There is no way back," she said quietly. The guardian nodded. "Exactly." Kael looked at Liana. "I'll answer." She shook her head. "No." "This concerns both of us." The guardian lowered his spear. "Very well." "The first answer." Kael stepped forward without hesitation. "If giving my life would save her and both worlds..." "I would do it." Liana's eyes widened. "You don't even know me." Kael smiled softly. "I know enough." "My father taught me that a king exists to protect his people." "If protecting one person saves countless others..." "The choice is simple." The guardian studied him for several moments. Then he turned toward Liana. "And you?" She looked down at the Celestial Heart resting against her chest. Only a week ago, she had been worried about overdue rent and organizing bookshelves. Now she was being asked questions that could determine the fate of two worlds. She slowly looked at Kael. "You've risked your life for me more times than I can count." "You barely know me either." Kael chuckled. "I suppose we're both making strange decisions." Liana smiled despite herself. Then she faced the guardian. "I don't want anyone to die for me." "But..." "If sacrificing my own life would protect innocent people..." "I'd do it." Commander Rylan looked at her in surprise. "My Lady..." She took a deep breath. "I'm afraid." "Every minute." "But fear doesn't change what's right." For the first time since they had met him, the masked guardian smiled. "The first truth has been spoken." He struck the end of his crystal spear against the bridge. The entire valley trembled. Ancient symbols appeared beneath Kael's and Liana's feet. A warm light surrounded them. The guardian raised his hand. "But words alone cannot satisfy the Bridge of Truth." "The bridge sees into the heart." The light suddenly grew brighter. Everything around Liana disappeared. She found herself standing inside the bookstore where she had worked. The familiar scent of books filled the air. Sunlight streamed through the windows. Emma stood behind the counter, smiling. "Liana!" "There you are." Liana blinked in confusion. "Emma?" "I've been looking everywhere." "It feels like you've been gone forever." Everything seemed normal. Too normal. There was no Celestial Heart. No Kael. No dragons. No magic. Only the quiet life she had always known. Emma laughed. "Come on." "We've got customers waiting." For one brief moment... Liana wanted to believe it. She wanted to believe everything that had happened had only been a dream. Then she noticed something strange. The necklace around Emma's neck. It bore the same symbol carved onto the Temple of Origins. Liana stepped backward. "This isn't real." Emma's smile slowly disappeared. "Are you sure?" "You could stay here." "No danger." "No responsibilities." "No war." Her voice became softer. "No pain." Liana closed her eyes. It sounded wonderful. Tempting. Peaceful. But it wasn't the truth. When she opened her eyes again, she smiled sadly. "I miss my old life." "I miss my home." "But running away won't save anyone." The illusion shattered like glass. Meanwhile... Kael found himself standing inside the Royal Palace. King Orion sat proudly upon the throne. Healthy. Strong. Alive. "My son." Kael's heart skipped a beat. "Father..." The king descended the steps with a smile. "You've completed your mission." "There is no war." "No betrayal." "No Malachar." "You may stay." Kael stared at him. For years he had dreamed of hearing those words. The burden of responsibility disappeared. The fear vanished. He could simply remain a son. Instead of becoming a king. The king embraced him. "You've done enough." Kael slowly closed his eyes. Then... He remembered. His father's final command before entering the portal. "Protect both worlds." Kael stepped away. "My father would never ask me to abandon my duty." The king's smile faded. The palace dissolved into countless fragments of light. Both illusions disappeared at the same time. Kael and Liana found themselves standing once again upon the stone bridge. The guardian nodded approvingly. "You rejected your deepest desires." "You chose truth over comfort." "The Bridge accepts you." With another strike of his spear, the ancient bridge began to glow. The stone beneath their feet transformed into crystal. A safe path stretched all the way to the temple on the opposite side. Commander Rylan smiled. "You passed." The guardian stepped aside. "You may continue." "But remember this." He looked directly at Liana. "The next trial will not test your honesty." "It will test your heart." He then turned to Kael. "And yours..." "It will test your loyalty." Without another word, his body dissolved into thousands of glowing particles that drifted into the wind. Silence returned. Liana looked toward the magnificent temple standing beyond the bridge. Its towering gates slowly opened on their own. A brilliant golden light spilled from within. Kael drew a slow breath. "The Temple of Origins." Commander Rylan nodded. "We're closer to the truth than anyone has been in a thousand years." As they stepped onto the glowing bridge, none of them noticed the shadow watching from one of the floating islands high above. A pair of crimson eyes opened in the darkness. The mysterious observer smiled. "So..." "The Guardian has survived the first trial." The figure turned away. "It seems I should welcome our guests personally." The hunt had already begun.A silence unlike any before settled over the battlefield. The armies stopped fighting. The dragons ceased their roaring. Even the storm surrounding the Gate of Eternity grew strangely still. Thousands of eyes watched as Liana stood before the Void Emperor with nothing but an open hand. Kael's heart pounded. Every instinct screamed at him to pull her back. Yet something in her expression stopped him. She wasn't acting recklessly. She knew exactly what she was doing. Aetherion studied her quietly. "The Eighth Path..." He repeated the words almost to himself. "I spent thousands of years searching for it." His golden eyes met hers. "If it truly exists..." "Show me." Liana nodded. "But you have to be willing to see the truth." For the first time in three thousand years... The Emperor lowered his guard. --- The Seven Seals surrounding the Celestial Heart began spinning faster. Golden. Emerald. White. Silver. Violet. Sapphire. Pure white. The seven lights merged
The heavens trembled. Silence spread across the battlefield like an invisible tide as the towering figure stepped completely through the Gate of Eternity. The Void Emperor had arrived. No thunder announced his presence. No explosion shook the earth. Yet every living creature felt the crushing weight of his existence. Birds fell from the sky. The winds stopped blowing. Even the crimson storms surrounding the Gate froze in place. Liana stood at the summit of the Abyssal Spire, her white armor glowing beneath the blood-red heavens. The Seven Seals circled the Celestial Heart in perfect harmony. For the first time since beginning her journey... She felt completely calm. The Void Emperor studied her with quiet curiosity. "So..." "The Guardian who awakened every Seal." His voice was gentle. Almost comforting. It made Commander Rylan's skin crawl. Kael immediately stepped beside Liana, his Celestial Blade blazing with sapphire flames. "You won't touch her." The Emperor s
The endless white realm was silent. No wind. No sky. No sound except Liana's own heartbeat. Seven magnificent thrones stood in a perfect circle before her. Each throne was carved from a different material—gold, emerald, crystal, silver, sapphire, amethyst, and finally one of pure white stone that seemed to shine with its own gentle light. At the center rested the Crown of Eternis. Its six awakened gemstones glowed brilliantly. Only the seventh remained dark. The voice returned, deeper than before. "Take the Crown." "Become the Queen of Eternity." Liana slowly walked toward it. Each step caused ripples of light to spread across the endless floor. She stopped only a few feet away. The Crown was breathtaking. Beautiful. Powerful. It felt familiar, as if it had been waiting for her all along. The first voice whispered again. "Rule every world." "End every war." "No one will ever suffer again." The temptation was overwhelming. Liana imagined it. With such power...
The heavens split apart. A deafening roar echoed across every corner of the Celestial Kingdom as the colossal black Gate of Eternity emerged above the crimson clouds. Lightning crackled around its enormous frame, illuminating seven ancient locks carved into its surface. Six had already shattered. Only one remained. The entire world seemed to hold its breath. --- Inside the Abyssal Spire, everyone stared upward through the broken ceiling. Even the Abyss Wyrm trembled. Its massive body lowered instinctively, as though bowing before an ancient force. Commander Rylan had never seen the guardian afraid. "What is happening?" The Wyrm's golden eyes never left the Gate. "It has begun." "The prophecy can no longer be stopped." Liana tightened her grip on the Celestial Heart. The six awakened Seals spun around its glowing core. For the first time... They weren't shining peacefully. They were pulling toward the Gate. Almost as if answering a summons. Kael noticed immediately.
The chamber exploded in a blinding flash of silver light. Liana was thrown backward as the colossal hand of darkness tore through the ceiling, shattering ancient pillars that had stood untouched for thousands of years. The force of the impact cracked the marble floor beneath her feet, and the beautiful chamber of the Sixth Trial began collapsing around them. At the center of the destruction stood Orion. The Sixth Keeper held his silver sword with both hands, its blade blazing like a newborn star. The darkness pressed against his weapon, filling the chamber with a terrible screech as light and shadow collided. For a moment... Neither side moved. Then the darkness laughed. It was a voice unlike any Liana had ever heard. It wasn't loud. It wasn't angry. It was calm. Ancient. Certain of its own victory. "Orion..." "Still pretending you can change fate?" Orion tightened his grip on his sword. "I don't seek to change fate." "I seek to give humanity the chance to choose it."
The meadow fell silent. The two paths before Liana glowed beneath the endless night sky. One shimmered with warm golden light, peaceful and inviting. The other was cloaked in shadows, yet tiny stars flickered within the darkness, as though hope still lingered beyond it. Orion stood beside the crystal lake with his hands folded behind his back. His expression was calm, but there was sadness in his silver eyes. "For thousands of years," he said softly, "every Guardian who reached this place believed they could save everyone." Liana didn't take her eyes off the two paths. "And they couldn't?" Orion slowly shook his head. "No." "The worlds were created with balance. To preserve one, another must pay the price." His words struck her like a blade. "So you're telling me that everything I've fought for... every sacrifice... was leading to this?" "I'm telling you," Orion replied, "that every Guardian must decide what kind of future they are willing to carry." Liana clenched her fis
