“Do you hear me, Liv?”

“Yes.” I responded, stepping on the accelerator, my eyes fixed on the road.

Louise had never said a word since I started the ritual of dropping off relief items for my father, so I had subconsciously concluded that she either had no idea about it, or did not mind.

But I did not care anyway. Louise, Dean, Norio, they were all distractions. I was at last close to freedom and that was all that mattered.

I had started Dean on his journey to hell, and would break free of Louise's control in no time.

“…come home this morning. You seem to have had a really busy day yesterday, seeing how I was unable to reach you the whole time.” My attention returned to catch the last of my aunt’s sentences.

“Who did you say you have?”

“Your blackmailer!” She snapped at me. “I thought you wanted him caught.” And I swallowed back the ‘Oh’ I had been about to say.

That was quick.

“I’ll be with you before noon,” I responded finally, and she hung up with a curt goodbye.

I sighed, scouti

“He is your high school sweetheart, and this is the Prom night. He gets to be your first man.” I smiled wistfully at the white card.“You just had to slip that in there.” I glanced at him from beneath my eyelashes, and he raised his hands in surrender. “That’s too convenient a coincidence.” I shook my head in doubt.“I’ve never used this even though I had it for a while. I really had no idea what was in them,” he chuckled. I nodded, smiling as I picked up the light blue card. “You’re the undercover detective, he is the mafia boss, but you can no longer resist the attraction.” I raised the card with a nod.“In another life, this would have been the one,” I said, and he threw his head back to laugh. The clock struck twelve then, and he stared at me, “You really think you would have been the cop?”I gasped in mock horror, “I’m the one with more potential to be an honest citizen, Mr Fletcher.”He leaned forward, eyes twinkling. “So what would you have done with this dishonest citizen?

When Colt consented, I knew there were some perks to dying after all. At another time he would have stuck to his guns. I would have gone ahead with it regardless, of course. But then I would have been hurting him. Although he would still experience some level of hurt now, it was a hurt he consented to. Just like the hurt I consented to every time he spanked me in the shower.“Fuck.” I gasped, because a spank on your wet ass hurt much more than it did on a normal day.He silenced my protest with his lips crushing mine, raising me up, and turning to pin my back against the damp marble wall while my legs circled his waist.“Colt.” I gasped, shivering against him as he bit my nipple, hard. He pulled away then, his hands moving to sleek my hair back, staring into my eyes and visually tracing the length of my naked body under the steaming shower, his tongue darting out to lick his lips once.I groaned, sinking my fingers in his wet hair. His erection was hard against my belly as I move

“Olivia...” Colt drawled, standing up and in a few steps was hugging me.I threw my head back to smile at him, laying my palm flat against his cheek. “Let’s do what you want for once.” My smile widened. He cupped my cheers then, his thumbs stroking my dimples. “What’s so funny?” His smile matched mine. “Let these six months be Yes, Colt months.” I whispered, and his eyes flashed. “I only have one request though,” I added, my heart thudding at his silence. His smile disappeared. “Why are you doing this?” He pulled my face to his chest, hugging me tighter. “Why does this make me nervous?”I giggled into his arms. “Because you think I have ulterior motives?”“More because I know how much you hate to give up control.”“Now I think we’re beginning to mix things up.” I circled my arms around his waist, leaning in to sniff his skin, and greedily sucking in all the smell of him. “You’re the one who hates to give up control.”“So we both hate to give up control?” His voice dipped, and I t

There were no guards or masked men in sight when I drove into the garage, except, of course, the ones who had driven behind me.Unlocking the door of my boaty, my hand caressed the chrome-textured body, exhaling at the silence in the house, so absolute, it echoed. But this was home regardless, and I looked forward to coming back here every day more than I had done anywhere, even to my houses in all my adult years. Pushing the front door open, my eyes dropped to the floor where Tara had stood to announce her pregnancy, and my heart ached.I walked in quickly, swallowing for resolve about what I was about to do. The temporary housekeeper we hired was nowhere in sight, and my heels echoed back to me as I walked up the stairs. The bedroom was empty as well, and since Colt hadn’t told me he would be out of the house, I knew he could only be with Morvian. As I stepped out of the bedroom in my house slippers, I heard the sound of laughter, new, yet familiar, it was Morvian’s, it was mine.

“Are you going to punish me for this, Olivia?” Colt sat defeated on the bed, watching me pack my bag after I told him I couldn’t stay here with him. “I’m not punishing you. I just need to be out of this house.” I was near the door when he said, “I never wanted this, I never wanted any of this.”I spun around then, my eyes furious. “Do you know how difficult it has been for me since this whole nightmare began?” I yelled, “You are about to have a baby, Colt. You are about to have a baby with your ex.”“That’s not my child.” He stood up, his face red and angry.“Doesn’t matter whether you acknowledge it or not. That’s your child.” I hurried out the door, deciding not to kiss Morvian before leaving. I couldn’t let him see me in this state. At the office, I had barely taken a seat when Maya walked in with her computer after barely knocking. She placed the computer in front of me, and my eyes fell on the headlines. I cursed, my head falling into my hands.Tara had just announced her pr

OLIVIA“Is something wrong?” I glanced back at Colt, who had gone completely silent. He was staring at his phone like it was a living thing. A living thing that had offended him.I got off the bed immediately, wondering if it was Louise or worse, a message about the Gyehna. “What is it?” I asked, searching his eyes. He shook his head, typing quickly on his phone and then slipping it in his pocket. I frowned then, taking one step back. He wasn’t about to start all these secret dealings, was he?I had just opened my lips to speak when commotion from downstairs reached our ears. I hurried to the window to peek out as Colt said. “Olivia.”Pushing the drapes back, I frowned at the sight of Tara at the entrance, but my frown turned to a gasp when I saw the masked men holding a gun to her head. “Colt.” “Look away, baby.” He walked towards the window to pull me away, but I jumped back. “Look away? Morvian is here. I cannot have murders happen in the house he lives in. He could even be awa
