Chapter 4

The following morning, Jane woke up feeling a burning sensation next to her. She shifted uncomfortably and opened her eyes slowly.

Her gaze immediately fell onto the handsome man lying beside her, their skin touching intimately. He was completely naked.

She froze for a moment before letting out a loud scream, "Ah!"

Panicked, she scrambled away from him, causing the blanket to slip off her body, revealing bruises all over her skin.

The man lazily opened his eyes and spoke in a relaxed tone, "You're up early."

Jane quickly grabbed the blanket to cover herself up. She glared at him and asked coldly, "Who are you and why are you here?"

Damien's lips curved into a smirk, "You mean to ask why we're in bed together?"

Jane's anger flared up, "Answer my question!"

Damien sat up and pointed to the hickey marks on his body, "Last night, you came to me in the corridor, hugged me, kissed me, and even undressed me. You seduced me."

Jane immediately refuted his words, "That's nonsense! I would never do such a thing!"

Damien's smirk deepened, "It seems like you've already admitted to it. That makes things easier."

Jane's eyes widened in shock, "Could it be the drug?!"

Damien looked at her with amusement, "You were the one who brought me to this room when you were drunk. Even if I took advantage of you, you were the one who initiated it. And now, you're accusing me of taking advantage of you?"

Jane gritted her teeth, "You're despicable!"

Damien chuckled, "You're the one who got us into this mess. So, what are you going to do now?"

She was uncertain of her thoughts at that moment.

Is the medication genuinely that potent?

Presently, she is experiencing an excruciating headache.

"It's alright, you won't know until you try it," Damien chuckled.

Jane felt an intense sense of shame and suddenly found herself at a loss for words.

"Miss Austen, I understand that you are not at peace," Damien sighed, "Don't worry, I will take responsibility."

Jane glared at him, "I don't need you to take responsibility for me. How do you even know my name?"

"Your identification card," Damien's gaze fell on the bedside table, "I don't share a bed with strangers."

Jane's countenance changed again upon hearing his reply.

She followed his gaze and saw her identification card resting on the table.

Without much thought, she grabbed her identification card, wrapped herself in the quilt, and made her way out of the bed.

"Where are you going, Miss Austen?" Damien's deliberate voice came from behind.

"That's none of your concern," Jane replied coldly.

She merely wanted to leave quickly and forget everything that had occurred the previous night.

"On the contrary, it's entirely up to me."

Jane turned to face him and glared, "What are you trying to say?"

"Although you said that you would not hold me accountable, I did not say that I wouldn't hold you accountable," Damien looked at her with his eyes slightly raised, exuding an indescribable charm.
